Abstract

Introduction: Burnout syndrome is still a problem related to nurses' psychology, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Burnout syndrome can be influenced by interpersonal and environmental factors of a person. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between personality, workload and appreciation of burnout syndrome in nurses who treat COVID-19 patients at the Indrapura Field Hospital, Surabaya. Methods: This study uses a descriptive analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples was 42 respondents who were taken using a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. Analysis using Spearmen Rho test. Result: The results showed that there was a relationship between workload (p = 0.034; r = 0.327) and rewards (p = 0.039; r = -0.320) with burnout syndrome in nurses treating COVID-19 patients at the Indrapura Field Hospital Surabaya. There was no relationship between personality (p=0.244;r=-0.184) and burnout syndrome in nurses who treated COVID-19 patients at the Indrapura Field Hospital, Surabaya. Conclusion: Burnout syndrome in nurses who treat COVID-19 patients at the Indrapura Field Hospital Surabaya is related to workload and rewards. Personality factors with positive attitudes are not necessarily able to prevent someone from experiencing burnout syndrome. So that this research can be used as an illustration for nurses during the current COVID-19 pandemic and situations in the future.

Abstract

Work motivation is motivated by the need in a person to influence the person's behavior, High motivation a person is expected to lead to positive behaviors that will ultimately result in good performance in the work. One that is often the cause of reduced performance is the lack of internal and external motivation in the work. The design of this study using cross-sectional methods. The sampling method used is Probability Sampling. Samples taken by 35 respondents are nurses who work in the Inpatient Room RSI Sakinah Mojokerto, in May 2014. Research data was taken using a questionnaire. After the tabulated data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho test with significance level 0.05. The results showed motivation of nurses working in the high category by 23 respondents (65.7%), medium category by 8 respondents (22.9%) and low category by 4 respondents (11.4%). Performance nurse with excellent categories by 20 respondents (57.1%), both as a category 4 respondents (11.4%), pretty much as 5 categories of respondents (14.3%), less as category 2 respondents (5.7% ), and less so by 4 categories of respondents (11.4%). While the results obtained from the statistical tests no correlation with the performance of work motivation nurses with correlation value of 0.728 with a significance level of 0.000 (ρ <0.05). Seeing these results it is necessary to coaching head office and nurse by providing training to improve motivation and performance so nurses can lead to good service and a good image for the hospital in the community.

Abstract

A severe mental disorder affects thought, feelings, and behaviour defined as Schizophrenia. The involve primary symptoms of Schizophrenia, are experiencing hallucinations, delusion, anhedonia, avolition, asociality, apathy, alogia, and attention disorder. The practice of the registered nurse-patient relationship might be used to examine the level of symptoms of patients with Schizophrenia. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Nurse’s Therapeutic Alliance, Relationship Building, and Therapeutic Communication with the symptoms of the patient with Schizophrenia. The design was a correlational study using a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted at the inpatient department of a government mental hospital in Indonesia with participants sixty-three adult schizophrenic patients and twenty-five registered nurse nurses. The primary outcome measure used a questionnaire the Nurse - Client Relationship Phase (NCRP), Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) and the Brief Negative Symptoms Scale (BNSS). The result of this study shows that there is a significant positive correlation (p < .05) between the registered nurse-patient relationship involving three sub-domains with the negative symptoms of schizophrenic patients; a significant positive correlation (p < .001) was found between therapeutic communication strategies, relationship building with the negative symptom. However, a lower correlation was found between the registered nurse-patient relationship with the negative symptoms of schizophrenic patients. In addition, registered nurses are expected to improve their abilities and services, especially in terms of determining the strategy of communicating with patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Sexual problems sometimes happened in cervical cancer patient, it related to body image, sexual role function, sexual function, and reproductive ability. The purpose of this study was to identify sexual function that occurs in patients with cervical cancer after chemotherapy. Method: A case study with descriptive qualitative in Indonesian Cancer Foundation, East Java Branch, Surabaya City. Participants in this study amounted to 3 people. Sexual function in cancer patients was measured using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire. Data Anlysis used descriptive analysis. Results: Based on the results of the research on filling out the FSFI questionnaire, the results of the full scale score of respondent 1 with a score of 1.2, respondent 2 with a score of 1.6 and respondent 3 with a score of 19.3 were obtained. Respondent 1 found that the individual experienced sexual dysfunction with the lowest score of 0 in the arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and satisfaction domains. Respondent 2 found that the individual experienced sexual dysfunction with the lowest score of 0 in the arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and pain domains. In respondent 3, it was found that the individual did not experience sexual dysfunction with the lowest 0 only in the lubrication domain number questions 9 and 10, and the highest scores 3 and 4 in the arousal and satisfaction domain. Conclusion: This shows that two respondents experienced sexual dysfunction, thus requiring sexuality needs intervention in order to fulfill the patient's needs.

Abstract

Introduction: Palliative care, specialized interdisciplinary care that focuses on quality of life while living with a serious illness, has the potential to offer additional support in patients with HCC and their families as they navigate life with the disease. Aim: This Systematic review was aimed to Palliative Care to Improve Quality of Life Patient with Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Method: Literature search is through Scopus, Pubmed, Proquest, Science Direct, and SAGE with the last 5 years (2014-2019). Result: There were 15 selected journals from 2493 journal articles found. Conclusion: Palliative care given as early as possible can improve the quality of life of patients, so patients can live longer, compared with patients who only seek treatment without being given palliative therapy.
