Abstract

This study explored the role of creative style preference on employees’ involvement in creative behavior and the moderating effect of creative style preference on the relationship between organisational culture and employees’ creative behavior. The study sample included 128 creative industry workers from 6 small and medium enterprises in Indonesia. Data was collected at Jakarta in early 2018 and gathered by using a questionnaire consisted of 2 cultural behavior dimension to measure workers’ creative behavior, namely presenting creative, concrete and practical ideas and presenting creative suggestions. Questionnaire was using Likert scale and the result was analysed with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method. The analysis indicted that the two distinct dimensions of creative behavior (presenting creative and practical ideas and presenting creative suggestions) were determined workers’ creative behavior. These two dimensions reflected the level of incremental improvement and presenting radical ideas in their activities. It is concluded that Indonesia’ creative industry workers are creative people who contributed to the productivity of an organization. It is suggested that organisations should create an organizational culture that motivates workers to improve their creativity level.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of organizational structure, competency, and innovation which are considered as key factors that affect firm performance in the era of industry 4.0. The research used purposive sampling survey to obtain primary data by distributing questionnaires directly to respondents or employees of Indosat Ooredoo's head office in Jakarta. The research had 135 respondents as samples. The method for data analysis was multiple regression analysis using SPSS version 25 software. The results show that the organizational structure has a positive influence of 58,6% on competency, the organizational structure has a positive influence of 44% on innovation, competency has a positive influence of 48,5% on innovation, competency has a positive effect of 72,7% on firm performance, innovation has a positive influence of 38,6% on company performance, and simultaneously both competency and innovation have a positive effect of 72,8% on firm performance. It is recommended that Indosat Ooredoo make improvements on the organizational structure to maximize employee competency and innovation to further enhance firm performance in the industry era 4.0.

Abstract

The research aimed to examine the influence of socioeconomic characteristics (age, gender, and income) on consumer conformity during the Internet of Things. A 7 items instrument using 7-likert scale for dimensions of consumer conformity in fashion industry for fashion consumers in Indonesia aged between 18 – 55 years old. Data analysis was performed on 470 responses using ANOVA Three-Way Test to find out if the socioeconomic characteristics are significant to the components of consumer conformity in fashion industry. This is considered the first research examining the influences of socioeconomic characteristics to Consumer Conformity. The results reveal that among the three characteristics, only age is found to be significant to Consumer Conformity. Therefore, to support the Consumer Conformity in fashion consumers, the marketer should pay attention to each age groups.

Abstract

This is the case for one of the leading conglomerates based in Spain where an unfortunate event at the group´s largest frank production plant was unable to continue working, the company adopted a sense of urgency to achieve customer demand by increasing the efficiency of the rest of its production network by 25-30%. The research focuses on describing the experience of applying the concept of Operational Equipment Effectiveness in a Spanish frankfurter plant. This approach is imbedded into a Theory of Constraints scheme that ensures a positive contribution to the objective of increasing productivity with each initiative implemented. The results show that the plant was able to produce 17,5 tons per week. Lines efficiency went up by 11%, this had not been reached since the production had risen in a 28%. The combination of important tools such as OEE and TOC, resulted in important factory level discoveries, its easy replication allowed the factory to continue a horizontal deployment to the rest of 9 franks production lines

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the significant impact of the environment concern, warm glow, and financial benefits towards Indonesia Power’s consumers motivation in using solar PV. The data was taken by questionnaire, with a sample size of 91 respondents, all consumers are solar PV users in Jawa Timur. The analysis was conducted by using SPSS with a single and multiple regression analysis method. The result indicates that the environmental concern, warm glow, and financial benefits have significant impact towards the motivation in adopting solar PV in Indonesia. Thus, the results can help Indonesia Power to foster and promote renewable Energy specifically solar PV. Furthermore, the research can help solar PV producers in how they can better promote their products.

Abstract

The 2016 Brexit Referendum in the UK resulted in a withdrawal from the EU that has brought a lot of uncertainty to the supply chains (SC) in the manufacturing sector. The manufacturing sector that operates in a highly integrated EU market and relies on a significant number of EU workers is facing sharp changes in the SC. To improve resilience to the SC risks caused by Brexit, supply chain risk management (SCRM) can play a crucial role in adopting effective strategies. Although the literature highlights both, advantages and disadvantages of Brexit, this study focuses on the potential consequences on the SC. Through a systematic literature review approach, the research aimed to analyse Brexit impact on SCRM in the manufacturing sector in the UK. The research reveals that the manufacturing sector is not resilient to a barrier to trade risk and suspending SCRM decisions in the latest sequence of political events didn’t help to improve resilience. Findings emphasize the disadvantage of stockpiling due to increased cost and reveal that reorienting SC to a domestic market from the EU could mitigate SC risks more effectively than reorienting to non-EU countries. Research also outlines specific areas where SCM should be aware such as foreign direct investment (FDI) from non-EU countries and increased rates of pay

Abstract

The research aims to determine the role of the board of commissioners in moderating the determinants in predicting the bankruptcy of finance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2015-2019 period. The research uses secondary data where the population are all financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2015-2019 period with total of 16 companies. The purposive sampling method is used to collect the data and with certain criteria, 13 companies are selected. The research model uses logit data regression where the dependent variable is a dummy variable, and there is the role of the board of commissioners as a moderating variable. The results show that profitability, liquidity, and solvency has an effect on bankruptcy prediction, risk management has no effect on bankruptcy prediction. The role of the board of commissioners does not moderate the effect of profitability on bankruptcy prediction as well as risk management on bankruptcy prediction

Abstract

With the increasing globalization, cultural diversity management has emerged as an important issue and it is regarded as a process that helps to maintain a positive workplace environment where the similarities and differences of individuals from different cultural backgrounds are valued and shared. The current research examines the impacts of levels of conflict on Japanese organisations’ performance as well as how the collaboration conflict management style influences this relationship. Drawing on conflict management literature and the five levels of conflict from Speed Leas’ Conflict model, the research develops a research model to examine the moderating effect of collaborative conflict management style (CCMS) on the relationship between different levels of conflicts and organisational performance. Data gathered from 58 Japanese and non-Japanese employees in Japanese companies. Data is analysed through SPSS and two-way ANOVA. The results indicate that conflict intensification triggers a negative impact on organisational performance. It also reveals that at different levels of conflicts, collaboration style has various impacts on the performance.

Abstract

The research examines one of the Word Health Origination (WHO) measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 which is distancing but there is a serious controversy in the used of this measure that is either “social distancing” or “physical distancing”. The research utilizes secondary sources of data and most information were explained pictorially. The research discovers that social distancing connotes distancing between different groups and class in the society whereas physical distancing refers maintaining a gap between two or more person irrespective of group and class to avoid contact. The paper concluded that the right word to use is physical distancing rather than social distancing. As part of effort to reduced COVID-19 spread, it is recommended that physical distancing should be encouraged and practiced at all times rather than social distancing.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the availability of internet resources for studenta’ final projects at tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The craving for the Internet stems from its central role in ICT with access to free online journals, magazines, and other information resources anytime and from anywhere for academic and research purposes. University undergraduates are required to do research during their final year of university. Writing projects are required prior to the award of tertiary degrees in Nigeria. Project writing is regarded as being important by every student. Research project writing involves a student or group of students carrying out a study on a topic of interest. When the project is finished, it is assessed by the work that was completed on time, which indicates the student's ability to select, research, and draw logical conclusions from findings. Resources consulted and cited are greatly impacted by the quantity, quality, and recency of the resources consulted and cited. The research finds that the internet plays a major role in helping undergraduate researchers' access large number of materials from different parts of the globe.
