Abstract

The amount of waste cooking oil in Indonesia is large due to dominance of food processing by frying has given rise to new environmental issues. Non-B3 waste originating from these households can be negative for both health and the environment. This is because used cooking oil cannot be disposed of directly in water or land withour processing, and also cannot be combined with other piles of waste. However, not many people understand the proper way to dispose and process waste cooking oil. Bank Jelantah Sekar Sejagad 88 practices environmental communication to convey the message of how to process waste cooking oil is converted into economic value. This research uses qualitative methods with interviews with managers and members of Bank Jelantah Sekar Sejagad 88. The delivery of environmental communication messages with socio-cultural approach, based on character of the target community, namely women who are married. Based on research, there are two main socio-cultural charactistics of the audience, namely togetherness and socialicing which in togethernees is the means of disseminating daily information. The second character is that trust is built through valid information with the support of the local government. Based on these characteristic, there are strategies for delivering messages namely “Ngobrol Jelantah”, Gethok Tular, dan top-down concept. With this message delivery strategy, it can increase awareness of targets as shown by the increase in the number of members of Bank Jelantah Sekar Sejagad 88. Based on discussion, it appears that including targets through community empowerment is the right step in building mutual understanding in delivering environmental communication message.

Abstract

Kampung Batik Rejomulyo dikenal masyarakat sebagai sentra Batik Semarangan tentu tidak terlepas dari brand awareness masyarakat. Jika seseorang sadar dan tahu akan suatu merek pastinya orang tersebut akan menjadi tertarik dan memiliki niat untuk mencoba membeli suatu merek tersebut. Brand awareness dapat dibentuk melalui Word of Mouth Marketing (WoM)  dan personall selling. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis marketing communication tools berupa WoM dan kegiatan personal selling yang ditemukan pada pengelolaan brand awareness Batik Semarangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, menggunakan metode penelitian studi kasus. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada 5 orang narasumber perajin, penjual, pemilik toko Batik Semarangan di Kampung Batik Rejomulyo Semarang dan 6 orang pengunjung yang telah melakukan pembelian. Aktifitas WoM terjadi secara organik oleh konsumen yang pernah berkunjung ke Kampung Batik Rejomulyo. Mereka menceritakan kembali kepada teman, saudara baik secara lisan maupun tertulis melalui pesan di Whatsapp. Word of Mouth Marketing dalam 4 aturannya yaitu be interesting, make it easy, make people happy dan earn trust and respect ditemukan pada penelitian ini. Sumber konsumen menerima WoM dari teman, keluarga, pihak hotel tempat menginap wisatawan sehingga membuat mereka tertarik untuk berkunjung ke Kampung Batik Rejomulyo Semarang. Pembicaraan secara alami terjadi karena konsumen yang pernah berkunjung mengalami, mendapatkan kualitas positif pada saat berkunjung ke Kampung Batik Rejomulyo.  6 tahapan pada personal selling sudah diterapkan yaitu mencari calon pelanggan, pra pendekatan, presentasi dan demonstrasi, mengatasi keberatan, tindak lanjut dan pemeliharaan, serta tahap penutupan. Ada tahap yang belum dilakukan maksimal yaitu pada tahap mencari calon pelanggan karena ada perajin, penjual dan pemilik toko yang belum aktif mencari pelanggan, lebih pada menunggu pengunjung datang ke tokonya.  Bentuk pengelolaan brand awareness dilakukan oleh perajin, penjual dan pemilik toko dengan cara menjaga kualitas produk, pelayanan personal dengan memberikan rekomendasi pilihan batik, mengedukasi cara mencuci, menjemur Batik Semarangan dan seni batik. Info produk baru disampaikan kepada konsumen melalui Whatsapps, paket belajar membatik juga ditawarkan kepada pengunjung agar mereka tetap mengingat Batik Semarangan Kampung Batik Rejomulyo.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the childfree choice for women which is now starting to become a new lifestyle among young Indonesian couples. This phenomenon is of course inversely proportional to the normative culture of Indonesian society, which expects married adults to have children. The childfree phenomenon then became a topic of conversation among netizens, especially in the YouTube comments space. This research aims to analyze and understand netizens' reception of childfree women in the video comment space entitled "Kick Andy- Childfree". Apart from that, to strengthen the role of the audience not only as consumers of media but also as producers of meaning. This research is located on the Metrotvnews Youtube channel which was uploaded on April 25 2022. Data sources are videos and comment transcripts which are analyzed using reception analysis. This research produced several findings that can be studied including; 1) Childfree choices and 'selfish choices' 2) Having children and social expectations 3) Childfree choices to 'enjoy the fruits of one's labor' 4) Women and a mother's 'natural instincts'. The findings show that there is a variety of acceptance of childfree women, ranging from comments that approve, praise, to reject. A message can be interpreted differently by netizens based on different sociocultural backgrounds, personal experiences, knowledge, religion and ethnicity. Even when decoders emphasize certain parts, they still make different readings. The presence of the YouTube comments space as a digital public space (public sphere) shows an increase in users' ability not only to express opinions, but to discuss and spark debate between users on controversial issues.

Abstract

The communication model carried out by Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election contestation campaign is mass communication. The purpose of this research is to deepen the impact of AI technology in political contestation that occurs in Indonesia. The theory used is Hypodermic Needle Communication using a mechanistic paradigm approach. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The descriptive approach was chosen in order to comprehensively understand the phenomenon that is happening. This research aims to help understand the impact of AI technology in a political context. In this case, the effectiveness of Prabowo-Gibran presidential candidates' political communication in the 2024 political campaign is the main subject for this research. This research adopts a qualitative method with a focus on a descriptive approach. The selection of the descriptive approach aims to thoroughly in-depth the existing phenomenon. The main focus of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of political communication from presidential candidate Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 political campaign. The use of AI in visual design communication aims to create a campaign that prioritizes navigation that gives the impression of fun but still provides useful knowledge and information. Given that the focus of the mechanistic paradigm and the Hypodermic Needle communication theory is the impact of communication, the use of AI in illustration and visualization increases the effectiveness of communication in the Prabowo-Gibran campaign more massively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the views of online media in Indonesia on the case of the execution without notification carried out by Saudi Arabia against Tuti Tursilawati, who is a worker from Indonesia. The researcher uses Murray Edelman's framing analysis theory to analyze media texts to determine how a media conveys news. The research method used is qualitative research with literature review and literature review. Data was collected by accessing three online news portals in Indonesia, including Detik, Kompas, and CNN and obtaining a total of 75 news articles. The news was collected using NCapture and analyzed using NVIVO 12 plus software as a qualitative data analysis tool using features such as crosstab and matrix coding. The research results show that three online media in Indonesia reporting on executions without notification tend to discuss the flawed system and method of communication in Saudi Arabia rather than focusing on Indonesia's failure to save Tuti Tursilawati from execution. Even though the government has sought legal assistance for Tuti Tursilawati, the lack of advocacy and weak political lobbying meant that the execution could not be thwarted. However, this important matter should have been discussed in the media. Based on the results of analysis from 3 online media and 3 points of research using Murray Edelman's overall framing analysis, it tends to corner Saudi Arabia so that it seems that the media is not delivering neutral news but is in favour of the government. This also seems exaggerated because most news highlights the lousy side of Saudi Arabia, so the government's shortcomings in handling it are of little concern.

Abstract

Pentingnya komunikasi terapeutik sangat ditekankan dalam peran seorang perawat saat memberikan pelayanan kesehatan kepada pasien. Komunikasi terapeutik dapat membantu pasien mengatasi stres, kecemasan, dan rasa takut yang seringkali muncul. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan komunikasi terapeutik perawat kepada pasien rawat jalan di RSU Kumala Siwi Mijen Kudus. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah perawat pada Instalasi Gawat Darurat (IGD) dan pasien atau keluarga pasien rawat jalan. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam kepada perawat IGD dan pasien atau keluarga pasien rawat jalan. Teknik analisa dan interpretasi data menggunakan metode Miles and Huberman. Teknik penarikan kesimpulan menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik komunikasi terapeutik perawat kepada pasien rawat jalan di RSU Kumala Siwi Mijen Kudus telah diterapkan sesuai dengan standar. Namun, ditemukan beberapa kejadian yang menunjukkan bahwa penerapan komunikasi terapeutik perawat kepada pasien rawat jalan masih memiliki kekurangan. Kekurangan tersebut mencakup penggunaan kata-kata yang kurang sopan, intonasi suara yang tinggi, ekspresi wajah yang tidak menyenangkan, dan sikap tubuh yang kurang sesuai. Maka, penelitian ini mencatat bahwa meskipun terdapat kekurangan dalam praktik komunikasi terapeutik, hal ini tidak memengaruhi jumlah kunjungan pasien rawat jalan IGD tahun 2022 hingga 2023.
