ABIP adalah Jurnal Agama Buddha dan Ilmu Pengetahuan , yang terbit tiap tahun, merupakan jurnal yang sebelumnya terbit secara intern dalam lingkungan Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Raden Wijaya Wonogiri Jawa Tengah. Dalam periode September 2014 ABIP terbit dalam skala yang lebih luas, menjadi jurnal nasional. Penulisan jurnal dalam edisi September 2014, melingkupi penelitian yang terkait dengan hasil penelitian pengembangan, maupun penelitian penerapan. Penulisan dalam hasil pengembangan khususnya dalam lingkungan agama Buddha, sangat diperlukan, karena masih sangat kurang pengembangan produk-produk baru, yang bersesuaian dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Seperti adanya perkembangan kurikulum 2013, maka diperlukan adanya pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam pendidikan Agama Buddha, seperti dalam hal asesmen otentik. Perhatian kepada guru, perlu dilakukan dengan pengembangan penilaian motivasi dan atau kinerjanya. Penulisan penerapan, diperlukan sebagai salah satu mediasi dalam melihat dan mengkaji ulang hal – hal yang menarik dan terdapat pengaruh dalam pengembangan ilmu dan pengetahuan. Para penulis jurnal dalam periode September 2014 meliputi para dosen dalam lingkungan STAB N Raden Wijaya dan Sekolah Tinggi Agama Hindu. Bentuk keterbukaan penulisan dilakukan guna menjamin relevansi dan nilai guna hasil tulisan yang lebih bermutu dan diperlukan bagi masyarakat, serta pengembangan ilmu dan pengetahuan.

Abstract

The importance of a religion teacher in general is an educational task which includes educating, teaching, and training. A teacher is very important to assist students in developing students' skills and knowledge. Therefore, the teacher must be able to make students interested in following the lesson. The importance of a Buddhist teacher in guiding Buddhists to be enthusiastic in participating in the activities at Manggala Buddhist Temple, so for strengthen Buddhist belief in the Buddhadhamma. With increasing belief in Buddhadhamma, people in the village will not change their beliefs. This study aims to determine the influence of a Buddhist teacher in strengthening the beliefs of the people in Manggala Buddhist Temple, Buluh Kuning Village. The method used is a qualitative descriptive, and sets the focus of the research, namely: The Significance of Buddhist Teachers at the Manggala Buddhist Temple in Strengthening Buddhist Beliefs in Buddhadhamma.

Abstract

This research examines the role of parents in shaping character of Buddhist students. The background of this research is there are students who are shy, difficult to hang out, problems in their education and there are children with special needs. Therefore, this study aims to determine the character of students and to know the role of parents in shaping character. The research method used descriptive qualitative. The informants in this study were five parents, five students and one teacher. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Mojorejo 01, Batu City. Data collection techniques were obtained from observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that students of SD Negeri Mojorejo 01, had quite good characters, this was obtained based on data obtained through interviews. To find out character of students, it is necessary to observe at school and home. Realizing student character can be done through habituation by applying Buddhist values.

Abstract

This research examines the comparative study of the vegetarian concept from the Theravada and Mahayana point of view. Background of this research In today's modern era there are many views that have been developed, such as views on food. but many people misunderstand in interpreting someone who runs Vegetarian. Buddhism itself has several prominent sects of which the two major sects are Theravada and Mahāyana. The two sects belong to Buddhism but have different ways of achieving the highest happiness, as is the case with vegetarianism. However, this does not make the two views of Buddhism hostile, but these two views make people aware of the differences in the history of the formation of vegetarian views from each sect. The Theravāda view itself places more emphasis on attaining Nibbanaan while the Mahāyana focuses more on loving-kindness.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Sigalovada Sutta in adolescent character education. The impact of the current era of globalization has an impact on the character of teenagers. Problems that arise in the community such as violence perpetrated by teenagers, free sexual relations, destruction by students, fights between students, promiscuity, and drinking. The method used in compiling this research is a literature review to obtain information data by utilizing existing facilities in the library, as well as other sources. The results of this study are to shape the character and personality of adolescents to be better and easier to adapt to the environment, namely by providing an understanding of the character values ​​contained in the Sigalovada Sutta and education contained in the Sigalovada Sutta.

Abstract

Abstrak Berbagai macam cara yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Buddha keturunan Tionghoa dalam mempraktikkan upacara yang merupakan tradisi leluhur yang masih dilakukan dan dipegang teguh. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meluruskan pandangan agama Buddha terhadap pelaksanaan upacara tradisi Tionghoa, serta menjelaskan persamaan dan perbedaan keduanya. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian studi pustaka (library research). Menurut bidang yang diteliti penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk di dalam jenis penelitian kualitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. peneliti langsung berlaku sebagai alat penelitian utama (key instrument) yang mana melakukan proses penelitian secara langsung dan aktif mengumpulkan berbagai materi atau bahan yang berkaitan dengan agama Buddha dan tradisi Tionghoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tradisi Budaya Tionghoa sangat beragam, komplek dan mempunyai nilai religius yang tinggi; (2) Tradisi Budaya Agama Buddha adalah tradisi religius, semua bentuk budaya di dalamnya mengarah pada pencapaian kesucian; (3) Tradisi Budaya Tionghoa lebih ekploratif dalam nilai-nilai sosial dan perjuangan, sementara tradisi budaya Buddhis bersifat universal; (4) Kedua Tradisi dapat saling mengisi untuk menghasilkan kehidupan beragama yang harmonis; (5) Praktik Tradisi budaya Buddhis tidak hanya membuahkan kehidupan bahagia di surga tetapi juga dapat merealisasi tujuan akhir dari kehidupan yaitu nibbana.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the increase in emotional intelligence through the discovery inquiry learning method to students Buddhist Vihara Vajra Bodhi Manggala Sunday School Kudus. This is a type of classroom action research, this research consists of 2 cycles with a four-step approach, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, observation, evaluation, and documentation. The results can be proven by the evaluation of students' emotional intelligence 649 or 81.12% in cycle 1 increasing to 684 or 85.5% in cycle 2. 59 or 73.75% in cycle 1 and 76 or 95% in cycle 2. Meanwhile, based on individual observations 552 or 69% in cycle 1 increased to 778 or 97.25 in cycle 2. Based on the results of increasing students' emotional intelligence, it can be concluded that discovery inquiry learning method can improve the emotional intelligence of Vihara Vajra Bodhi Manggala Sunday School students in Kudus.

Abstract

Digital Public Speaking is a technique of speaking in front of a camera lens to a group of people in a structured manner with the aim of providing information and influencing the listening audience. The aims of this study are: 1) to determine the implementation of Digital Public Speaking Training for Samanera and Atthasilani at Padepokan Dhammadipa Arama Batu; 2) to find out the impact of Digital Public Speaking Training on Samanera and Atthasilani at Padepokan Dhammadipa Arama Batu. This research analysis research using Miles and Huberman's version. The sample used was 6 respondents consisting of 3 Samanera and 3 Atthasilani. The sample in this study was conducted by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the Digital Public Speaking ability of Samanera and Atthasilani at Padepokan Dhammadipa Arama Batu. The conclusion is that the ability to preach digitally has begun to increase but it is stillnot in accordance with the 3T method (regular, structured, and measurable).

Abstract

The background of this research is to find out and describe the use of youtube media to improve learning material about the History of Prince Siddharta for the Buddhist Sunday School (SMB) Eka Viriya Sasana. Learning media is a tool used in learning, aiming to be able to convey messages through intermediaries. One of them is youtube learning media. The method used in this study is a qualitative description. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation, secondary data obtained from written sources, namely in the form of data obtained from books, the internet, mass media and other sources. The data analysis technique used in this study was to use steps such as data collection. , data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Based on the data analysis carried out, the use of YouTube learning media has a significant effect on knowledge of Buddhist subjects, this can show that there is a real influence on knowledge of Buddhist learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Politik pada hakikatnya merupakan ilmu untuk mengatur negara agar membawa kemajuan dan kesejahteraan yang didasarkan pada kebijaksanaan. Kebijaksanaan dalam politik ditempatkan pada tempat yang paling mulia, sebagai landasan etik seorang politikus dalam melaksanakan tanggungjwabanya. Politik dalam pandangan agama Buddha diidentikan dengan syarat-syarat yang diajarkan Sang Buddha untuk kesejahteraan suatu bangsa. Tujuh syarat tersebut dilandasi dengan kebijaksanaan yang menjunjung tinggi prinsip-prinsip kebenaran. Istilah politik dan syarat kesejahteraan sama-sama bermakna cara untuk mengatur negara agar membawa kemajuan dan kesejahteraan. kata kunci: politik, politik agama buddha, ajaran buddha ABSTRACT Politics is essentially a science to regulate the state in order to bring progress and prosperity based on wisdom. Wisdom in politics is placed in the most noble place, as the ethical foundation of a politician in carrying out his responsibilities. Politics in the view of Buddhism is identified with the conditions taught by the Buddha for the welfare of a nation. The seven conditions are based on wisdom that upholds the principles of truth. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian study kualitatif, Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Vihara Surya Karuna (Anak Asuh Dhamma Kalyana) Dk. Congger, Ds. Tunahan, Kec. Keling, Kab. Jepara. Pelatihan atau belajar meditasi kesadaran atau Mindfulness sangatlah efektif untuk dilaksanakan guna untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan anak asuh dhamma kalyana. hal ini memang tidak dapat spontan mendapatkan hasilnya, akan tetapi seiring berjalannya pelatihan atau belajar meditasi kesadaran atau Mindfulness para anak asuh dapat dilihat hasil dan merasakan manfaatnya dari meditasi kesadaran atau mindfulness tersebut. Hasil atau manfaat dari pelatihan meditasi kesadaran atau mindfulness sudah dapat dirasakan oleh anak asuh dhamma kalyana. Bermula dari aktifitas keseharian yang positif yaitu sesuatu atau kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang sering ia lakukan dan menjadi peraturan di asrama sudah dapat dilakukan dengan baik dan penuh sadar.
