Abstract

Abstrak Berbagai macam cara yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat di desa Nusa Jaya dalam memperingati upacara tradisi satu suro yang merupakan tradisi leluhur yang masih dilakukan dan dipegang teguh. Dalam hal ini masyarakat desa Nusa Jaya yang terdiri dari berbagai macam kepercayaan agama, tetapi saling bekerja sama dalam memperingati dan merayakan upacara tradisi satu suro, merupakan keunikan tersendiri yang perlu diteliti dan dianalisis untuk mencari tahu kebenarannya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana sejarah serta pelaksanaan upacara tradisi satu suro, serta maknanya bila dipandang dari perspektif agama Buddha di desa Nusa Jaya. Kepercayaan masyarakat yang dimaksud ialah kepercayaan atau keyakinan rakyat indonesia kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dan kepercayaan kepada keadaan yang gaib lainnya. Untuk mengetahui dasar-dasar dan unsur- unsur yang melahirkan kepercayaan masyarakat Indonesia pada umumnya, lebih dulu kita harus mengetahui kepercayaan-kepercayaan rakyat dan agama rakyat Indonesia dari zaman purbakala (Kamil Kartapradja, 1985:1-2). Satu Suro adalah hari pertama dalam kalender Jawa di bulan suro dimana bertepatan dengan 1 Muharram dalam kalender hijriyah, karena Kalender jawa yang diterbitkan Sultan Agung mengacu penanggalan Hijriyah (Islam). Satu suro biasanya diperingati pada malam tanggal satu setelah magrib biasanya disebut malam satu suro, hal ini karena pergantian hari Jawa dimulai pada saat matahari terbenam dari hari sebelumnya, bukan pada tengah malam. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian lapangan (field research). Menurut bidang yang diteliti penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk di dalam jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah panitia, tokoh agama Buddha, tokoh masyarakat di desa Nusa Jaya, Belitang 3, OKU Timur. Dalam menentukan subjek, peneliti langsung menentukan siapa saja yang akan dijadikan responden, dengan alasan mereka adalah orang yang banyak mengetahui tentang masalah yang akan diteliti. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dan ditafsirkan dengan tujuan untuk menarik kesimpulan dari penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tradisi satu suro merupakan ritual yang telah mendarah daging untuk masyarakat desa Nusa Jaya. Tradisi satu suro dilaksanakan setiap tanggal tujuh malam kedelapan di bulan Suro. Tradisi ini merupakan Kolaborasi antara Kebudayaan Jawa dan konsep tata ritual agama setempat; (2) Tradisi satu suro ini merupakan rangkaian kebudayaan lokal yang dikolaborasikan dengan kepercayaan agama setempat untuk memperingati Tahun baru Jawa. Tradisi satu suro ini sebagai sarana untuk penghormatan terhadap Leluhur; (3) Bentuk nilai-nilai spiritual tradisi satu suro di desa Nusa Jaya antara lain: Ritual mubeng deso, Membawa persembahan (sesajen), Lek-lekan (tidak tidur semalam), dan Poso (puasa). Abstract

Abstrak Berbagai macam cara yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Buddha keturunan Tionghoa dalam mempraktikkan upacara yang merupakan tradisi leluhur yang masih dilakukan dan dipegang teguh. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meluruskan pandangan agama Buddha terhadap pelaksanaan upacara tradisi Tionghoa, serta menjelaskan persamaan dan perbedaan keduanya. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian studi pustaka (library research). Menurut bidang yang diteliti penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk di dalam jenis penelitian kualitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. peneliti langsung berlaku sebagai alat penelitian utama (key instrument) yang mana melakukan proses penelitian secara langsung dan aktif mengumpulkan berbagai materi atau bahan yang berkaitan dengan agama Buddha dan tradisi Tionghoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tradisi Budaya Tionghoa sangat beragam, komplek dan mempunyai nilai religius yang tinggi; (2) Tradisi Budaya Agama Buddha adalah tradisi religius, semua bentuk budaya di dalamnya mengarah pada pencapaian kesucian; (3) Tradisi Budaya Tionghoa lebih ekploratif dalam nilai-nilai sosial dan perjuangan, sementara tradisi budaya Buddhis bersifat universal; (4) Kedua Tradisi dapat saling mengisi untuk menghasilkan kehidupan beragama yang harmonis; (5) Praktik Tradisi budaya Buddhis tidak hanya membuahkan kehidupan bahagia di surga tetapi juga dapat merealisasi tujuan akhir dari kehidupan yaitu nibbana.

Abstract

Tujuan utama daripada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkankemampuan mengajar dengan Metode Role Play Berbasis Psikodrama Kepada Tenaga PendidikSekolah Dasar Swasta Pelopor Duri. Pemberian pelatihan secara virtual mengenai cara menjadipendidik yang menggunakan psikodrama yang berlandaskan pada kegiatan eksplorasi tindakan.Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yakni melaluipendampingan menulis naskah drama dan praktik atau mendemonstrasikan metode role play.Hasilnya, tenaga pendidik mampu membuat naskah drama dan mampu menerapkan Metode RolePlay Berbasis Psikodrama dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, metode role play menjadi salah satualternatif metode mengajar.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication involves communicators and communicants meeting face to face and allows each communicator to capture the communicator's reaction or vice versa directly, both verbally and nonverbally. Good interpersonal communication will help increase student learning activities to the fullest. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study was 113, and the sample was 66, obtained using the proportional random sampling technique. The research was conducted at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Religion in Lampung with even semester student respondents. Based on the study's results, it illustrates a significant influence between interpersonal communication variables and student learning activity variables. The criterion for testing the hypothesis is to reject H0 if t count > t table and vice versa. For the t distribution used dk = (n-2) and a = 0.05. Based on the data analysis obtained tcount = 3,081 while the t table with n = 66 and a = 0.05 brought 1,668. Then it can be seen that t count> t table (3,081> 1.668) or sig (0.003≤0.05), it is concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an influence interpersonal communication on student learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to find out efforts to improve family harmony through interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication plays an essential role in maintaining balance in a family. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population studied was the householders of Dharma Dippa Monastery in Central Lampung, totaling 35 respondents, so the sampling used saturated samples. Based on the study results obtained t count of 3.742 and ttable of 35 Respondents with dk n-2, it becomes 35 respondents with a significant level of 0.05 is 1.334. Then it is known that t count ≥ t table with a value of 3.742 ≥ 334 or sig < 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). So it can be concluded that the two variables have a regression relationship, and there is an influence between the interpersonal communication variable (X) on family harmony (Y), meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. There is a positive and significant effect of interpersonal communication on family harmony. The magnitude of the influence of interpersonal communication on family harmony is 54.6%, and other theories outside this study influence the remaining 45.4%.

Abstract

The research aims to investigate the influence of emotional intelligence on students' learning motivation. Conducted at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College among second-semester students, this study seeks to establish the significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the level of learning motivation. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study involves data collection from second-semester students at Jinarakkhita Buddhist College using a research instrument that has undergone validity and reliability testing. Statistical analysis is performed to test hypotheses and assess the association between emotional intelligence and learning motivation. The findings of this research will contribute to a deeper comprehension of the significance of emotional intelligence in shaping students' learning motivation. The implications of this study can provide valuable information for educational institutions to enhance the development of students' emotional intelligence and learning motivation.

Abstract

This quantitative research aims to determine the contribution of lecturers' persuasive communication to students' self-confidence and learning motivation. The study population was students of Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung. The sampling technique was carried out by random sampling with the number of selected samples as many as 78 people. The research data were collected using the lecturer's persuasive communication scale, self-confidence scale, and learning motivation scale. The data analysis technique used was multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). Analysis of research data showed that there was a positive contribution between persuasive communication and self-confidence. It is also known that there is a positive contribution between persuasive communication and learning motivation. Specifically, it is known that in this study, lecturers' persuasive communication is high, students' self-confidence is moderate, and students' learning motivation is also moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the relationship between extrovert students' and their writing ability at the university level. The study was conducted from March to April 2023 at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College Bandar Lampung. The population of the research was the second-semester Buddhist Education Department students in the academic year 2022-2023. The researchers used a rubric score to analyze and measure the students' recount text writing ability before and after treatment. The data were collected by administering essay writing pre-tests and post-tests. The data were collected from a writing test used to assess students' writing abilities, and a series of analyses were performed, beginning with examining the reliability of the questionnaire and the association between the score and students' personalities. The result showed increased pre-test and post-test average scores from 49.9 to 65.1. In addition, this study found that second-semester students' writing abilities have improved due to the use of communication skill-based writing instruction (CSBWI) to promote extrovert students' as they are more expressive in conducting ideas.

Abstract

Zikir is one of the methods used by sufi scholars to be able to revive the heart from death because a heart that does not remember the majesty of Allah is considered dead by the sufis. However, the perspective of zikir in Buddhism is still little known by the public. This lack of understanding shows that the term zikir in Buddhism is still a bit foreign so that many people, especially Buddhists, do not understand the perspective of zikir itself. The purpose of writing this article is to find out about zikir from a Buddhist and Islam perspective. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Based on the data analysis carried out, it was concluded that zikir is reciting the name of Allah and praying with concentration or ritual verbal worship, which is not tied to time, place or circumstances, and if humans are busy doing it, zikir produces knowledge and vision in themselves, because zikir in its basic context is included in the verbal category. The perspective of zikir in Buddhism (Theravada) is similar to that of sufi meditation in Islamic religion. The difference is only in the form activity and the naming of the training terms. The difference between the two lies in the prescribed meditation subject.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of spiritual leaders in shaping and strengthening socio-cultural communication networks in the Buddhayana community. The research focus involves analyzing the active role of spiritual leaders in facilitating interaction, maintaining cultural values, and forging interpersonal connections among Buddhists. This research method uses a case study with a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with spiritual leaders, community members, and participatory observations at religious activities. The results showed that spiritual leaders have a crucial role in shaping and maintaining socio-cultural communication networks. Not only acts as a spiritual leader but also as a facilitator of communication between individuals in the community. Spiritual leaders also play a role in transmitting Buddhayana values, promoting collaboration, and building solidarity among community members. The study also identified factors that influence the effectiveness of the role of spiritual leaders in the context of socio-cultural communication, including active involvement in daily activities, adaptability to technological developments, and the ability to understand community needs. These findings have important implications in understanding communication dynamics in the context of Buddhayana and may contribute to practical thinking to support spiritual leaders and Buddhayana communities in strengthening their socio-cultural communication networks. This research can serve as a foundation for the development of more effective strategies to maintain the sustainability of communication and cultural values within the Buddhayana community and may be applicable to other religious and cultural contexts.
