Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal protection of children in cases of early marriage from the perspective of Islamic law and positive law in Indonesia. The main focus of this research is to find a meeting point between religious norms and national legal provisions in providing protection for children's rights. The method used is qualitative research based on library research with a normative-philosophical approach, examining both classical and contemporary Islamic literature, statutory regulations, and empirical data from relevant institutions. The findings show that although positive law has established a minimum age for marriage, its implementation still faces challenges due to legal loopholes, particularly through the marriage dispensation mechanism. Meanwhile, Islamic law, through the maq??id al-syar?‘ah approach, provides normative support for age restrictions for the sake of the child's well-being. Therefore, harmonizing these two legal systems is essential to build a more just, humanistic, and sustainable legal protection framework for children in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Independent curriculum in PPKn learning at SMP Negeri 9 Gorontalo and identify what factors cause the implementation of the Independent curriculum to be not optimal. The Merdeka Curriculum is a form of educational transformation in Indonesia launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) as part of the Merdeka Learning program. This curriculum is designed to provide more flexibility to educational units, teachers, and students in the learning process. The goal is to create learning that is more relevant, in-depth, and in accordance with the needs of the times. The results of this study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum has brought significant changes in the learning system, especially in the subject of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn). This curriculum emphasizes the flexibility of teachers in designing student-centered learning, with character strengthening, Pancasila values, and the application of contextual and interactive learning. Innovations such as the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) and a differentiated learning approach are considered to be able to increase student engagement and motivation. However, the implementation of this curriculum has not been running optimally in various educational units. Various obstacles are still faced, such as limited understanding and training of teachers, difficulties in preparing assessments and lesson plans, and limited facilities and resources, especially in remote areas. In addition, differences in students' readiness and abilities also affect the effectiveness of project-based learning. This research underscores the importance of intensive teacher training, equitable access to educational resources, and consistent mentoring as the main strategies in overcoming implementation challenges. Thus, the Independent Curriculum can be applied effectively and evenly, so as to truly create learning that is on the side of students.

Abstract

This study aimed to understand how the police play a role in addressing criminal acts of sexual abuse against minors and to identify the factors that contribute to the occurrence of such crimes. This research employed a juridical empirical approach, which merges legal methods with empirical data from field studies involving the police, case documentation, literature reviews, and relevant legal materials. The study findings indicated that the police's role in handling child sexual abuse includes preventive, preemptive, repressive, and restorative aspects. In the preventive and preemptive aspects, the police conduct legal counseling, child protection campaigns, and cooperate with schools and communities to provide awareness about the dangers of sexual violence. In the repressive aspect, the police conduct investigations and legal actions against perpetrators based on applicable laws and regulations, such as the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code. The restorative role is manifested through victim assistance and psychological and social recovery for children who are victims.

Abstract

Gambling is a societal issue that negatively affects morality, the economy, and family resilience. This practice can lead to financial loss, domestic violence, and the deterioration of social functions within society. Although gambling is regulated under criminal law in Indonesia, such as Article 303 of the Indonesian Criminal Code and Law No. 7 of 1974, gambling cases continue to rise, including in Gorontalo. This study aims to analyze the legal impact of gambling as a criminal act and how law enforcement is implemented to maintain family resilience. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach conducted at the Polres (Kepolisian Resor or Precinct Police Station) of Gorontalo City to examine the legal impact of gambling crimes on family resilience. The findings show that gambling crimes in Gorontalo City, particularly lottery gambling, have fluctuated between 2020 and 2024, with a significant increase in 2023. Gambling has serious impacts on family resilience, causing economic loss, domestic conflict, social stigma, and psychological disorders, especially among children. The main contributing factors include economic pressure, environmental influence, weak supervision, and suboptimal law enforcement. Perpetrators who are repeat offenders, organizers, or who involve others are subject to heavier penalties. The legal impact is not only experienced by the perpetrators but also undermines family stability and causes public concern. Gambling crimes in Gorontalo City have wide- reaching effects, legally disadvantaging the perpetrators and destroying family resilience economically, socially, and psychologically. Key factors such as economic pressure, environmental influence, and weak law enforcement contribute to gambling behavior. As a result, offenders' families experience conflict, stigma, and even household breakdowns. These social impacts create a ripple effect that disrupts community stability.

Abstract

This research aims to examine public perceptions of the influence of money politics during the 2024 General Elections (Pemilu) in Tangkobu Village, Paguyaman Subdistrict, Boalemo Regency. Money politics is a recurring phenomenon in Indonesia's democratic processes, particularly during elections. Such practices can influence voter preferences and undermine the integrity of elections that are meant to be fair and honest. This research employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants include eligible voters, community leaders, and village-level election organizers in Tangkobu Village. The findings reveal that most community members are aware of the occurrence of money politics in the 2024 General Elections and perceive it as commonplace or even culturally ingrained, despite recognizing its detrimental effects on the quality of democracy. The main contributing factors to the public's acceptance of money politics include economic vulnerability, low levels of political education, and weak law enforcement. These findings suggest the need for improved political education, as well as stronger oversight and enforcement mechanisms to reduce money politics in future elections.

Abstract

his study aims to examine the political behavior of first-time voters regarding the 2024 Presidential Election in Olimeyala Village, Biluhu Sub-District, Gorontalo Regency. This study is motivated by the low level of political participation among first-time voters in the presidential election. The findings show that the political behavior of first-time voters in Olimeyala Village is influenced by several factors, such as a lack of understanding of democracy, limited political participation, and insufficient awareness of rights and obligations as citizens. This study is expected to contribute to efforts in increasing the political participation of first-time voters and to building awareness of the importance of democracy in society. This study examines the political behavior of first-time voters regarding the 2024 Presidential Election in Olimeyala Village. The findings also indicate that the level of participation among first-time voters is influenced by sociological, psychological, and rational choice factors. Sociological factors, such as social structure, norms, and social interaction, play a significant role in influencing access to political information and opportunities for participation. Psychological factors, including motivation, political awareness, personal experience, self-confidence, and understanding of rights and obligations, also determine their participation in the democratic process. Meanwhile, the rational choice approach shows that first-time voters in the village make political decisions logically based on the candidates' vision, mission, capabilities, and integrity. The inhibiting factors of political awareness among first-time voters include limited political education, lack of effective socialization, and political apathy. Therefore, it is expected that a more democratic, just, prosperous, and stable society can be fostered in Olimeyala Village. Furthermore, this study contributes to the theory of political behavior and democratic participation and provides recommendations for election organizers and the government to improve the quality of democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the governance of the Pasar Sentral in Kota Selatan Subdistrict, Gorontalo City, after its revitalization. The background of this research stems from the market's previous condition, which was rundown and disorganized, prompting the Gorontalo City Government to carry out a revitalization project. However, despite the revitalization efforts, issues such as low visitor numbers, limited access to clean water, as well as drainage and sanitation problems, remain major concerns. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with representatives from the Department of Industry and Trade, market vendors, and the community, as well as documentation. The findings indicate that market governance includes planning, implementation, and supervision in accordance with Henry Fayol's management theory. Nevertheless, challenges persist in the implementation, particularly regarding facility management, the retribution system, and the involvement of vendors in decision-making processes. In conclusion, the revitalization has not fully resolved the market's underlying problems. Strengthened coordination between the government and market stakeholders, along with improvements to supporting infrastructure, are needed to transform the market into a more attractive shopping center for the community.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of social media in shaping the political perception of youth in Tanggikiki Urban Village during the 2024 General Election. In the increasingly advanced digital era, platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook serve not only as communication tools but also as instruments for political campaigns, spaces for political education, and platforms for expressing political views among young voters. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data are collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from various informants, including young people, local officials, and members of the election supervisory committee. The findings reveal that social media plays an active role in shaping political opinions among the youth, encouraging participation in political discussions, and increasing awareness of electoral issues. However, negative impacts also arise, such as the spread of hoaxes, opinion polarization, and the creation of echo chambers that limit political perspectives. Therefore, digital literacy is essential for enabling youth to use social media critically and responsibly in support of a healthy democratic process.

Abstract

Rice is a strategic food commodity whose quality is increasingly becoming a concern for consumers, especially in the premium segment. Polishing technology is one of the important innovations in improving the visual and physical quality of rice. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of polishing technology in creating quality premium rice in UD. A new pair of shoes. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, and is supported by consumer questionnaires as complementary data. Informants consist of owners, machine operators, and workers who understand the production process firsthand. The data were analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model with three stages: reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results showed that the effectiveness of polishing was greatly influenced by the quality of raw materials, moisture management, and tool maintenance. Product quality evaluation is carried out visually based on experience, with a maximum tolerance limit of 15% for broken rice. Consumers give positive ratings of physical, taste, and packaging attributes, and show a willingness to pay more for consistent premium quality. This research emphasizes the importance of integration between technical control of production and understanding of consumer preferences in maintaining the quality of premium rice in the local market.
