Abstract

Indonesia has the potential of water that can become electricity with a hydroelectric power plant. In addition, the distribution of the PLN network has not reached all regions of Indonesia. From these problems the author made a hydropower generator by comparing the number of blades used with a number of 8, 10, and 12 pieces. This study aims to determine the power that will be generated from the number of blades. Data retrieval is done by calculating the power produced by the turbine with a variation of the test time of 20 minutes by 5x. The working principle of this tool is that the water will rotate the wheel connected to the generator with the help of shafts, bearings, pulleys, and V-belts that produce electrical power in the battery so that the electricity can be directly used. The results obtained that the output power is the largest in the use of a number of 12 pieces of blades namely 0.0687 HP, while the number of blades 8 and 10 pieces produces the amount of output power of 0.0627 HP and 0.0652 HP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Hardness and Toughness of cast iron after undergoing a Tempering process with independent variables heating time and dependent Hardness, microstructure and toughness Impack. Quenching was carried out at temperatures of 7750C, 8000C and 8250C in cold water media, while Tempering was carried out at temperatures of 2000C, 3000C and 4000C with a holding time of 15 minutes. Vickers Hardness test results using "Micro Hardness Tester" after Quenching have increased by an average of 95.6% at Quenching 7750C, 99.8% at Quenching 8000C and 107.1% at Quenching temperature 8250C from Hardness value of row material of 256.6 BHN or 260.8 VHN0,040. The maximum hardness value is obtained 531.4 BHN or 553.6 VHN 0,040 at Quenching temperature 8250C and the lowest Hardness of 501.8 BHN or 541,8 VHN0,040 at Quenching 7750C temperature, has Cementite phase as a matrix with little Martensite, is due to treatment The partial tempering of Martensite is replaced by the ferrite phase between Cementites. The results of the study concluded that at Tempering temperatures of 2000C, 3000C and 4000C, the toughness of FC 30 experienced an increase of 106.5%, 121.9% and 130.5% from the initial energy of 5.21 Joule / mm2, whereas violence decreased by 88, 6%, 80.8% and 40.4% of the original Hardness of 260.8 VHN 0,040

Abstract

Now, many of piston ring parts have been on the market. The products are often encountered are the 5MX-E160-10 series piston ring and the SLW-E1603-20 series piston ring which have different qualities. In this study, the hardness of the two piston ring products was analyzed by heat treatment. The heat holding time was varied 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 45 minutes at 8000C and the quenching media of SAE 40 oil. The results of the hardness of the 5MX-E160-10 series raw material were 105.97 HRB and the highest hardness value after treatment decreased 34.02% were 71.95 HRB. While the hardness value of the SLW-E160-20 series raw material were 90.26 HRB and after the heat treatment has decreased by 19%, were 71.26 HRB. The best microstructure test results were found at the 30 minute holding time series 5MX-E160-10 with a temperature of 8000C and the quenching media of SAE 40 oil. In addition, the results showed that the longer holding time in the SLW-E1603-20 series resulted in decreased hardness values.

Abstract

Leaf springs, especially in cars, are one of the metal components that must get attention because their location under the vehicle causes susceptibility to corrosion due to environmental conditions. Corrosion is an absolute phenomenon that occurs in metals, but corrosion can be controlled by speed with certain techniques. One of them is the use of environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors (bioinhibitors). Tea is known to have high antioxidant compounds, but its use is only limited as a drink ingredient. Starting from these problems, a study was conducted on the use of tea as a bioinhibitor in leaf pegs. This study use variations in inhibitor concentration (15%, 20%, 25%). To determine the corrosion rate a corrosion test was carried out. The test results showed that tea proved to be able to reduce the highest corrosion rate at concentration  25% in the amount of .37%. Corrosion rate before being given an inhibitor of 3.8195 mm / y and after being given inibitor decreased to 3.4614 mm / y.

Abstract

This study of the influence of variations in pulley diameter driven on shallot chopper machines against the chaff yield capacity is motivated by the production and consumption of shallots in Indonesia is quite high, so it takes a red onion chopper machine to facilitate the handling and processing. The purpose of this study was to make a shallot chopper machine, to analyze the effect of variations in pulley diameter on the yield of onion chopping, and to analyze the results of onion chopping. In this study, the analyzed were chopper speed with variations in pulley diameter driven 6 inch, 7 inch, 8 inch and 1½ inch drive pulley diameter. The test method uses 200 grams of shallots per experiment with repetitions three times the experiment with variations of pulley driven 6 inches, 7 inches, and 8 inches. After testing, an analysis of the data obtained in the form of chaff yield capacity is completed. The best test results were obtained using variations in pulley diameter driven by 6 inches with a chopping yield capacity of 3.77 grams / second.

Abstract

One of the extracts of natural ingredients can be used as corrosion inhibitors is tannin and lignin in eichornia crassipes plants. The used extract eichornia crassipes as a corrosion inhibitor is very useful for the industrial. The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of inhibitors of eichornia crassipes on the corrosion rate of SIICHASE bolts. This research method by providing inhibitor solutions made from eichornia crassipes to SIICHASE bolt material by inhibitor concentrations of 0%, 9%, 12% and 15%, then tested for corrosion resistance in the seawater. The results showed that the addition of a 12% inhibitor concentration of eichornia crassipes produced the lowest corrosion rate of 10.852 mpy.

Abstract

The land area of peanut plantations reached 314 Ha, making Tegalrejo District a peanut center in Magelang Regency. As a center for producing peanuts, the demand for peanuts in Tegalrejo District is also high. The high demand makes the need for the application of technology in producing peeling peanuts. Based on the problems faced and the existing literature review, it is necessary to develop a peanut stripper that is good in stripping capacity and the quality of the peel. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the distance between peanut peeling machine on the quality of the peel. The study was conducted with 3 repetitions with 1 kg of peanuts per data collection. The results obtained from the study are variations in the distance of 15 mm of test yielding the highest percentage of peanut peanut value of 80.96%. Whereas the highest capacity is obtained by varying the 20 mm peanut peeling distance, which is 28.48 kg/hour.
