Abstract

Ciung Wanara Cultural Reserve (CWCR) is one of famous habitat of Long Tailed Monkeys (LTM). The existence of LTM is one of tourist attraction. But LTM in CWCR became depend on feed by tourists. This condition caused of pattern behaviour of LTM. The objective of this research is to know pattern behaviour of LTM in CWCR. The method of research is councentration count. The result of research is showing of LTM group. There are 4 groups of LTM in CWCR (Pangcalikan, Cikahuripan, Pamangkonan and Patimuan). The LTM pattern behaviour depends on alpha male of group. The pattern sleeping behaviour of LTM group is from the sleeping tree to returns to its sleeping tree. So, there is not overlap of each group, because source of feed, water and cover of LTM is sufficient.   Keys words: Pattern behaviour, Long Tail Monkeys, Cultural Reserve

Abstract

Green Belt area of the Jatigede Reservoir are located at an elevation of 260-262.5 masl covering 5 administrative districts namely Jatigede, Jatinunggal, Wado, Darmaraja and Cisitu. Spatialy is included into a local protected area which one the ownership of land is under the authority of the reservoir management. The phenomenon that occurred earlier in the dams in Indonesia are the green belt fields has degradation such as occupational settlement and conversion of agricultural land by civil society which does not convey the principles of soil and water conservation. Green belt area as buffer zone and an interface between the core zone (aquatic) and the outside of reservoir area (community settlement). The socioecological interaction between human and natural resources will always occur in the buffer zone. The object of this research is to learn of socio-ecology at green belt land as multifunctional area both for conservation and production function and in its utilization involving people affected by the construction of Jatigede dam. The method used is a concurrent quantitative-qualitative combination to explore the biophysical, social, economic and cultural characteristics and perception of the stakeholders about exictence the green belt of the Jatigede dam. The socio-ecology of civil society not use concept in land use plan green belt of jatigede reservoir is to make zonation based on biophysical factor that is zones of conservation and production.  Keywords : Green belt, Jatigede Reservoir, Socio-ecology landscape

Abstract

The condition of social, economic, and culture of forest community has effect to forest condition. Desa Sindulang is one of village that community forest in Taman Buru Masigit Karembi that has majority of farmer and low economic condition. But commodity planting is carried out without an evaluation of the land to determine the level of suitability of the land with the commodities planted. The method by overlay Land Mapping Unit with society land use then analyze of matching suitability land. The results of evaluation divided in 3 units, are : 1) unit I which have land suitability class values with forestry commodities such as Suren (Toona sureni) and Coffee (Coffea Arabica) while agricultural commodities such as Broccoli (Brassica oleracea), Chili (Capsicum annum), Banana (Musa acuminate) and Cabbage (Brasica oleracea). 2) Units II which have land suitability class values with forestry commodities such as Suren (Toona sureni) and Coffee (Coffea arabica) while agricultural commodities such as Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). 3) Units III which have land suitability class values with forestry commodities such as Suren (Toona sureni), Africa (Maesopsis eminii) and Coffee (Coffea arabica) while agricultural commodities such as Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), Eggplant (Solanum melongena) Broccoli (Brassica oleracea), Chili (Capsicum annum), Cabbage (Brasica oleracea) and Pineapple (Ananas Comosus). Keywords : Agroforestry, Land suitability, Sindulang Village

Abstract

Physical development in the city of Bandung which is increasing causes a decrease in green open space. Babakan Siliwangi Bandung City Forest is one of the green open spaces so it is necessary to know the correlation between tree dominance and the Temperature Humidity Index (THI) value in the formation of micro climates. The object research is to determine the relationship between tree dominance and THI. The method by vegetation analysed, measuring temperature and humidity. The results of research are: 1) Comfort index (THI) in the Babakan Siliwangi City Forest Park in Bandung in August 2017 is relatively comfortable <26 THI. 2) The correlation value of tree dominance with THI is -0.14 which means that there is no relationship between the dominance value and THI. Keywords : Tree, Forest urban, THI, Bandung

Abstract

The polulation of Cat Family (Felidae) in Southeast Asia has declined in nature owing to its lost habitat, fragmentation one and massive hunting. Meanwhile, the research of Asiatic Golden Cats, Sunda Clouded  Leopards, Marbled Cats, and Asian Leopard Cats is not much conducted. This research aimed to find out their distribution and habitat use in Southern Bukit Barisan National Park (BBSNP). The data intake employed Camera Trap, then analyzed by occupancy model with single season and single species applying R-software. It was found that  Asiatic Golden Cat Occupancy Model yielded 0.75 in Intensive Protection Zone or Zona Perlindungan Intensive (IPZ) and 0.4 occupancy value in northen parts of  Sourthern Bukit Barisan National Park (BBSNP). Furthermore, its Sunda Clouded Leopards resulted in 0.50 in IPZ and 0.42 occupancy value in northen parts of BBSNP. Its Asian Leopard Cats was 0.16 occupancy value in IPZ  and unexecuted occupancy model in northen parts of BBSNP due to extremly low detection.

Abstract

Dry forests in semi-arid region plays important roles in humans’ life, whether it is socially, economically, or ecologically. Most of the time, it is very difficult to maintain the equilibrium of those roles, especially in developing-country where the economic role is more exploited than the other roles. This mismanagement of forests would lead to the situation where the forest will be in rapid retreat. On the other hand, maintaining as well as increasing the forests is the most essential solution for climate change, as forests play integral part on carbon sequestration therefore stabilizing the climate. In carbon sequestration, plants incorporate carbon from atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) through photosynthesis then storing it in biomass and soil. As each vegetation has different capacity to store carbon, this study tries to estimate the absorption rate of carbon dioxide (CO2) and the potential carbon storage of Borneo camphor (Dryobalanops aromatica) and Kesambi (Schleichera oleosa) in Oebatu Dano Ina forest (RTK.24) Pantai Baru sub-district, Rote Ndao district, Nusa Tenggara Timur province. The result shows carbon storage range of 6.51–42.998 ton/ha for both vegetation with average of 0,135–1,791 ton/ha for each tree, while the average of carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption rate is 0,498–6,575 ton/ha for each tree.

Abstract

Tahura is a nature conservation area with a purpose to collecting natural or non-native plants and or animals, native and or non-native species, which are utilized for research, science, education, supporting cultivation, culture, tourism and recreation. As a conservation area whose territory is directly adjacent to the community, Nuraksa Forest Park is a source of economy and life for the surrounding community so that it can be said that there is community dependence on land in the area. This is a challenge in managing the area. In an effort to provide management direction so that the functions and benefits that have been regulated in the legislation and the achievement of the goals that have been formulated can be achieved, the perceived need for activities to identify problems and management strategies of Nuraksa Forest Park. The research was carried out through a series of activities, which consisted of literature studies, interviews and field surveys. The results of the SWOT analysis of the management of Nuraksa Forest Park are in quadrant III. This shows that Nuraksa Forest Park faces enormous opportunities, but on the other hand faces several internal obstacles / weaknesses. The strategy that must be implemented is to minimize the internal problems of the institution so that it can seize better opportunities.
