Abstract

In Magetan Regency, East Java Province, there is a home industry of leather crafts, precisely at Jalan Sawo, Selosari Village. The leather crafts is a form of physical culture which is currently being developed and preserved. Operationally the production process is carried out there and marketing is also carried out outside the region. The production process involves employees from the local community while marketing is not only carried out in shops on Jalan Sawo, but also sent to various regions in Indonesia. The products produced are shoes, slippers, bags, wallets, belts, and jackets. This study aims to describe the leather crafts home industry in Magetan Regency when viewed from a functional theory. This study combines field research with library research. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis used the interactive model of Milles and Huberman's. Based on the research results, it can be seen that there is a relationship between functional theory and the leather crafts home industry. If viewed from the point of functional theory, that is when it is said that basically everything (objects, animals) has the principle of function, use or benefit. In this case there is also a functional link between cultural elements in the social system of the local community. So it can be concluded that functional theory can be used as a knife of analysis in examining the existence home industry of the leather crafts. The implication of this research is that it can be used as a reference for further researchers to develop other objects of study when it is linked to elements of local wisdom.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on the global economy, including Indonesia. The main victims of the COVID-19 outbreak are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This article aims to examine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on MSMEs and provide recommendations that can be done to reduce business losses, survive the crisis and accelerate recovery. MSMEs were negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in terms of sales, income, profits, and cash flow of business owners. MSME actors must adapt by reducing production, and reducing the number/hour of employees. More than that, product quality improvement and market expansion are important things to do. The majority of MSMEs (82.9%) in Indonesia have been negatively affected by this pandemic. Various policy recommendations were put forward to reduce the bad impact of the outbreak on MSMEs.

Abstract

Berakit Village is one of the island areas in Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. Land cover on Berakit Island is mostly made up of mangroves (Directory of Small Islands of Indonesia, 2012). The high interaction of the village community with the sea has a high risk of drowning or near drowning. especially to the community and visitors who are traveling in the village. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of first aid for drowning victims in the archipelago. This study used a descriptive method, The sample size in this study was 30 people. Based on the results of our observations through a questionnaire related to the description of knowledge about first aid for drowning victims in the Berakit Village community that the level of knowledge of the community was sufficient with a total of 19 people. This is due to several factors, one of which is the level of education. This is in accordance with the statement put forward by Nursalam (2011), that a person's knowledge can be influenced by the level of education and exposure to information. The higher a person's education, the easier it will be to receive information. It can be concluded that the majority of community knowledge in Berakit Village was sufficient, this is because the people in Berakit Village have received information about first aid for drowning victims
