Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Cognitive Apprenticeship learning model on the mathematical reflective thinking skills of junior high school (MTs) students at YPP Prof. Dr. H. Mohd. Hatta in algebraic topics. This research is a quasi-experimental study utilizing a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research population comprised all seventh-grade students at MTs YPP Prof. Dr. H. Mohd. Hatta Stabat, with sample selection conducted through a cluster random sampling technique to determine the experimental class (Cognitive Apprenticeship learning) and the control class (conventional learning). The research instrument employed was a reflective thinking skills test consisting of essay questions on algebraic material that met the indicators of reacting, comparing, and contemplating. Data analysis was performed using the Independent Samples T-Test and the N-Gain Score test. The results indicated that the improvement in the reflective thinking skills of students taught with the Cognitive Apprenticeship model was significantly higher than that of students who received conventional learning. Consequently, the Cognitive Apprenticeship model is effectively implemented to optimize students' reflective thinking skills in algebra learning. Abstract

Education plays a significant role in national development, and the effectiveness of school administration is essential for achieving educational goals. However, many public secondary schools in Nigeria continue to experience administrative challenges such as poor planning, ineffective supervision, inadequate communication, and inefficient resource management. This study therefore investigated the integration of strategic planning for school administrators’ effectiveness in public senior secondary schools in Ilorin East Local Government Area, Kwara State. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised 854 teachers in 34 public senior secondary schools in Ilorin East Local Government Area, Kwara State. Using Krejcie and Morgan’s sample size determination method, a sample size of 266 teachers was selected from 19 public senior secondary schools. Data were collected using a researcher-designed instrument titled “Integrating Strategic Planning for School Administrators’ Effectiveness Questionnaire (ISPSAEQ).” The instrument yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.72. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the data collected from 258 returned copies of the questionnaire. The findings revealed that the level of strategic planning integration among school administrators was high. The study further showed that strategic planning positively influences administrators’ effectiveness through improved decision-making, instructional supervision, accountability, communication, and resource management. The findings also identified inadequate funding, lack of training, insufficient government support, and weak monitoring systems as major challenges affecting strategic planning integration. The study concluded that strategic planning significantly enhances effective school management and administrators’ performance in public senior secondary schools.

Abstract

This study comparatively evaluates the effectiveness of Project-Based Leaming (PBL) and conventional learning (KBM) in the student learning process at Universitas Satya Terra Bhinneka. The research background is rooted in the paradigm shift of 21st century education, which demands the development of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and authentic problem-solving skills. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design was used to compare student engagement and leaming outcomes of both instructional models. Data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires descriptively revealed that the majority of students perceived PjBL, as superior in terms of active learning, soft skills development, and workplace readiness compared to KBM, although preferences regarding understanding of difficult concepts showed more varied responses. These findings align with meta-analyses demonstrating that PjBL makes a positive contribution to learning outcomes and 21st-century skilis compared to traditional methods. The results indicate that PjBL is capable of promoting active student engagement and higher non-cognitive skill development, supports the relevance of learning to the real world, and provides recommendations for higher education curriculum development in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the application of animated video media in improving students' absorption of the National Emblem and Pancasila Symbols subject matter at UPT SD Negeri 043 Siunongunong Julu. This study involved 10 first-grade students of UPT SD Negeri 043 Siunongunong Julu, all of whom became research subjects. Using a quantitative approach, an experimental design was applied to compare two learning methods. In Cycle I, the control group received instruction using conventional methods, while in Cycle II, the experimental group was taught with animated video media. Data were collected through tests related to learning outcomes in the form of essay questions, which were then analyzed to see differences in learning outcomes. The results of the analysis showed that in Cycle I, the average score of students with the conventional method was 75.8, while in Cycle II, the use of animated video media produced an average score of 79.8, which was included in the medium category. The t-test revealed a significant difference between the two groups, where the experimental group showed better learning outcomes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that animated video media be used as an effective alternative in PKN learning, especially for the topic of State Emblems and Pancasila Symbols, in order to improve the quality of teaching and students' understanding.   Keyword: Pancasila symbols, animated videos, learning outcomes. conventional method was 75.8, while in Cycle II, the use of animated video media resulted in an averagescoreof 79.8, whichis included in themedium category.
