Abstract

Chinese literature has various genres, one of which is Military Literature. The short story entitled Sabuk Tentara Rusia by Ma Xiaoli is a text that tells about the relationship between the Russian Army and the Chinese Army and shows the cultural differences between the two countries. The analysis with the modern semiotic approach used in this study succeeded in mapping the elements of the Military Literature sub-genre in Ma Xiaoli's Sabuk Tentara Rusia in detail and comprehensively, and was able to confirm that the text is part of the Military Literature sub-genre in Chinese literature.

Abstract

The temple is not always defined as a mere place of worship but also has multiple functions and cannot stand alone without any connection with others. This paper intends to provide an understanding of the temple as a form of expression of Chinese philosophy and culture. When gender becomes a problem in society, temples can also provide a way out, containing many social elements that are forgotten. Competition for the temple to be claimed by religious institutions makes the temple even more ambiguous and confusing. Abstract

The number of Chinese noun quantifiers is very rich, and the usage is very complicated. Different nouns have different matching quantifiers. This situation makes Indonesian students prone to errors when learning quantifiers. Therefore, this article tries to compare Chinese individual noun quantifiers with Indonesian corresponding individual noun quantifiers. This article compares and analyzes one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-one individual noun quantifiers and finds the similarities and differences between Chinese and Indonesian individual noun quantifiers.

Abstract

Batam City, which is part of the Riau Islands province, is a connecting city between Indonesia and Singapore. Batam City is located in a very strategic location in the border region between countries, neighboring one of the world's business centers, namely Singapore. For this reason, marine transportation has a very important role in maritime countries like Indonesia. The high intensity of Batam and Singapore transportation cannot be separated from the Chinese population of Batam which is a community group in the city of Batam. The existence of Batam Chinese has been going on for centuries, since they came from mainland China using boats. With tenacity, social networks and geographical proximity to Singapore, Batam Chinese people become dominant in the economy in Batam. This study seeks to show maritime aspects and shipbuilding technology and their relationship with social society through transnational concepts. With globalization, and to develop networks, people really need sea transportation to support the transnational process. For all that, maritime safety is needed which greatly affects the sustainability development efforts, especially sea transportation activities.

Abstract

This paper shows the development of wayang potent in Jakarta, changes in its function, the causes of changes in the function of wayang potent performances in Jakarta, and the impact of changes in the function of wayang potent performances for Chinese culture and society. In this writing, the research used is a qualitative method based on literature study, observation, and interviews. Based on this paper, it can be concluded that the wayang’s potent performance in its development has changed function and its performance has begun to adapt to the local culture. Currently, wayang potehi is not only performed at the temple but has begun to spread to the stage for entertainment outside the temple.
