Journal Software, Hardware, and Information Technology (SHIFT) is an academic journal published in January and June by State Islamic University Alauddin of Makassar and managed by Department of Information System, Faculty of Science and Technology. The journal publish scholarly articles on the scope of Computer Architecture; Virtual/Augmented Reality; Computer Security, Software Engineering (Software: Lifecycle, Management, Engineering Process, Engineering Tools and Methods); etc. Every manuscript submitted to Journal SHIFT is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers in the form of "peer-review". It is due to increase the quality of articles. Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is mostly based upon their reports/recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary. The Editorial Team, however, reserves the right to make the final decision on the status of the manuscript with regard to publication.

Abstract

The development of technology is speedy and accurate, making us live side by side with information and technology itself. Many people have abandoned searching for information manually and switched to using computerized systems so that they can access information more quickly. The animal market is one of the regional assets in improving the community's economy. This animal market also distributes cattle. This distribution requires a fast, precise and accurate time. Animal markets also carry out the processing of animal feed which is used as its animal feed and for sale. In processing data on animal feed ingredients, there are also obstacles; for example, from the production side, errors often occur in recording data for feed ingredients and the amount of feed production and its processed products. This study aims to design and build an information system to distribute livestock products and data processing for animal feed in the animal market.

Abstract

The search for private reciting teachers is mainly carried out through contacts with colleagues of the same profession, recommendations from previous reciting teacher service users so that broadcasts through social media problems that then arise through searches like this, including searching for prospective private reciting teachers who take a long time, find it challenging to find a match The location and time between the prospective Koran Kaji and the students, cannot know the competence, achievements and track-records of the future Koran teachers in private. This research is qualitative research where the strategy used is Design and Creation—the method used for data collection using the form of observation, literature study, questionnaires and interviews. This research aims to design a system that can make it easier for students to find Koran teachers. In contrast, the design of this system uses the Java and MySQL programming languages for databases and the programming method using the Haversine Formula method. This research produces an Android-based private apprenticeship teacher information system application for the conclusions drawn from this study. To design a system for ordering private Koran teachers to make it easier for the community, especially in Makassar.

Abstract

There are many different kinds of plants that can be found anywhere, but we don't know precisely what types and uses they are, so it's good for us to understand these plants. The purpose of this research is to make it easier to find out about plants by designing and building an information system about plant qualifications using QR Code technology combined with the Website application. This type of research used in this research is a qualitative method. Qualitative methods are research methods that are descriptive and tend to use analysis. Process and meaning (subject perspective) are emphasized more in qualitative methods. While the data collection methods used were observation, interviews and literature study. The application planning method used is a waterfall. In contrast, the testing technique used by the author is Black Box testing. The results of this research are in the form of a web-based plant recognition information system to make it easier for administrators to provide information and make it easier for visitors to get plant information. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that this system is running according to the common objectives.

Abstract

Deputy for distribution statistics and services for the Central Statistics Agency of South Sulawesi (BPS Sulawesi Selatan), who is responsible for scheduling and organizing the Distribution Pattern Survey has difficulties in organizing enumeration documents, both in organizing District BPS documents, and in managing the history of the result surveys that have been conducted. The existing survey management software was not specifically intended for managing enumerator document files. In fact, the results of the evaluation of the enumerator documents determine the further policy regarding the implementation or postponement of the police survey in the South Sulawesi district. This study developed a document enumerator document information system software to facilitate South Sulawesi BPS (BPS Sulsel) in managing enumerator documents. The existence of an enumerator document information system is a practical solution that facilitates data organization while speeding up the document evaluation process. The software is developed using the waterfall development model. Testing software implementation uses the Mean Opinion Score or MOS to assess the success of the software. The test results obtained a 97.5% percentage of the MOS score showing the success of using the software in supporting the process of evaluating the enumerator documents.

Abstract

The Makassar City Tourism Office is an element of implementing government affairs in the tourism sector which is the regional authority. One of the tasks carried out is to provide transportation to access tourist attractions in Makassar City, especially in South Sulawesi Province. There are several obstacles, one of which is when a borrower makes a vehicle loan application, it takes days until it is approved by the Head of the Makassar City Tourism Office. In addition, the borrower cannot track the application letter submitted. This is what makes researchers want to create a system for designing and implementing a public service system for bus loan reservations at the Makassar City Tourism Office based on a website. This research uses qualitative research, while data collection used is observation and interviews. This system includes several contents, namely vehicle lending, monitoring letters, approvals, users and invoices. Design and Implementation of Bus Loan Reservation Public Service Systems at the Makassar City-based Tourism Office This website was created using the PHP programming language, Codeigniter Framework and MySQL as its database. This system uses the Blackbox testing method. The conclusion of this research is that it can make it easier to borrow vehicles, monitor letters and vehicle management.

Abstract

This research aims to design a dalnet educational game with the adventure genre that can assist students in understanding database, algorithm and network subject matter. As a learning medium to increase interest in learning in informatics engineering students and information systems. In this game, the score is used as the output of the game. The results showed that the application of database, algorithm and network educational games in three languages that got the results of the feasibility test of the system and game testing designed by 88.3%. In addition no specific smartphone specifications are used.

Abstract

The information administration system of the disaster victim is still managed internally, where the victim data can only be accessed in the information center, and It is difficult to access remotely for the public. The disaster victim information system is currently still being recapitulated using office applications such as word processors. The study aimed to design and implement an information system for the Makassar City Regional Disaster Management Agency based on Mobile. The system design method used is an Android-based mobile method. So from all of them, it can be concluded that the entire management information system of the disaster victim data was successfully created and running as desired. The study results indicate that the management information system of the disaster victim data based on Android mobile can help the BPBD officers input the victim data, and the public can know the results.

Abstract

Edge detection is a fundamentally important thing to do in its application to digital images. This is because edge detection can produce the edges of an image in a short time. One of the methods commonly used in edge detection is the Sobel Mask. However, Sobel Mask only convoluted in horizontal and vertical directions. Besides that, Sobel Mask is also sensitive to noise. Therefore, the Sobel Mask is improved by adding a new kernel mask and combined with the Median filter. The new kernel mask is obtained by rotating the horizontal and vertical kernel masks by 45 degrees. In addition, edge detection is carried out on RGB images which are generally carried out on grayscale images. The improved Sobel Mask provides more detailed edge detection with firmer lines compared to the regular Sobel Mask.

Abstract

In today's era, we can do mobilization activities anytime and anywhere. Especially with the cloud computing system that makes it easy to interact from one computer to another without consuming a lot of money. This allows us to access data and information from computers or accounts that are connected. Google Drive is a data storage and synchronization service provided by Google. Where every user can use cloud computing in the form of file sharing and editing collaboration. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the challenges and solutions for data security and user privacy are on the Google Drive platform.

Abstract

Each department at university needs to analyze student data and scores. By analyzing student grades, majors can improve lecturer performance in learning; one way to explore student grades is to collect student grade data and then process the data to produce information in the form of learning performance results that can be used to make decisions to improve lecturer performance. The author will analyze a structured programming course student score data; the following collected data are related to student attendance, assignment scores, mid-semester exam scores, and final semester exam scores. After all the data needed has been organized to build the data warehouse, the following process is the ETL process (Extract, Transform, and Load), as the tool used in the ETL process is Pentaho. This data extraction process using 1 data source, namely student value data with excel file type. After carrying out the extraction process, there is a data transformation process, namely making some changes to the extracted data to make it more consistent and uniform according to the needs of the data warehouse.
