The Indonesia Journal of Business Administration(IJBA) is a business journal that bridges the gap between business research and practice, evaluating and reporting on new research to help readers identify and understand significant trends in their fields. The IJBA seeks to publish papers relating to business, broadly defined. It publishes articles that address both theoretical and practical issues in the broad areas of Business Strategy and Marketing, People and Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Management, Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation, Operation and Performance Management, and Business Risk and Finance.Contributing academicians and researchers are encouraged to address a variety of concerns relating to all areas of business. We also encourage students to use an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing a topic, which often yields interesting and novel papers. The published articles provide valuable insight into matters of broad intellectual and practical concern to academicians and business professionals. The Journalis published three times a year: in April, July and October. The journal is mainly an outlet of MBA ITB students to publish their final project works, although it also accepts articles written by students at masters level from other institutions. A published paper is an honor that will be unambiguously beneficial for professional and academic careers, especially for those who want to attend graduate/professional schools. This means that papers written in relations to Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Law, Corporate Ethics, and Public Policy all qualify for submission. Abstract

Abstract - Usaha Logam Kudus is a home industry association which consists of 4 Koperasi Unit Bersama. The cluster location is at Kecamatan Mejobo. This  home industries  has become  the center of metal  production, which  will be developed as the one of Kudus income sources and man power absorption. As the globalization, the competition among industries is increasing. For Usaha Logam Kudus, the blacksmiths are facing the problem with the decrease of the selling  revenue, in which it has direct impact to the existence of the business itself in the market  competition. As small-medium enterprise  which has limited capacity and capability, the operation of the cluster need to be improved. Data collection method of interview, observation and document review were used in this project. The result of the analysis indicates the condition of Usaha Logam Kudus. The level of awareness regarding to supply chain is still low. The proposed operation strategy is conducted by redesign organization structure, supplier contracts, and network configurations. Abstract

Abstract.Merdeka 8 is a coffee shop located in Kalimalang, East Jakarta. Merdeka 8’s target market is young people in Kalimalang area with motorcycle as their daily transportation. Today, Merdeka 8 gains new target market, car user customers. The problem is that the parking lot cannot facilitate the new market. This research is aimed to find best solution and strategy for Merdeka 8’s in the future. Moreover, this research will assist Merdeka 8 to define their arena, explore the require differentiator, plan their staging, choose the vehicle, and evaluate the economic logic in order to convey Merdeka 8 as a leader in the industry and the recommendation made by this research would improve their performance in the future. Abstract

Indonesia is a country with abundant natural resources. It is supported with arable land and tropical climate that make agriculture, plantation and forestry in Indonesia is growing.In agriculture, fertilizer is an important commodity. Fertilizers are divided into two types, namely organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer.Understanding the importance of fertilizers for agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture Republic of Indonesia has set standards of quality for fertilizers in Indonesia. Quality is usually defined as the characteristics of a product that include performance, reliability, and ease of use.This thesis background is report from Soil and Plant Laboratory Inc. about the lowness macronutrient content of Herbafarm.This final project is focused to find the cause of decreased quality of Liquid Organic Fertilizer "Herbafarm" and proposed the method to improve its quality. Methodology that used in this thesis is examining every activities related to production of its fertilizer. Beside that, it also analyzed the Quality Control data, measures production process performance from the data with the Control Chart, and use a fishbone diagram method to analyze the root problem. Also providing quality improvement proposals to meet the National standards by using Six Sigma approach.Result from the study is found inadequacies raw material warehouse that cause the decrease of raw material content. Abstract

Football industry Indonesia is currently on the rise and got a lot of public attention. As a result of increasing interest in the sport, many opportunities have opened up. One is the opportunity to market the complementary product to perform activities of playing football / Futsal such as the jersey. Brigandine Football is a startup company that creates football/Futsal sportswear. Brigandine was founded in late 2011.There are few issues that brigandine face, the biggest problems is the lack of sales & promising future market. The step that we will take to find the root cause are to do internal an external analysis, The purpose of internal analysis is to know the weaknesses & strength of the company. And, The purpose of the external analysis is to find out the external factor of the business that can influence the company.  From the analysis, find out that there are 3 root causes, they’re: 1) The pricing strategy is not suitable (pricing is higher than competitors). 2) The lack of physical store. 3) The lack of product extension, service and warranty. The sequence of problem solving for brigandine starts with the revision of STP. This revision made because the behavioral factor that is different from the survey and the STP that brigandine has, so it need some adjustment to fit into the segment that already shaped by the market. And then followed by the revision of business channels. After the revision of business model, we will try to give solution for brigandine problem. The first one is choosing the type of physical stores, continued with the addition of product extension/services/warranty. And then finally, the revision of pricing strategy for brigandine. The STP revision is in the targeting and positioning area. While the changes in the business model are in customer segment, value proposition, channels, and customer relationship. The solutions gives to Brigandine root cause is choosing the mobile store as their official store, the addition of product extension in terms of Armless Jersey, Long sleeve Jersey, Training Vest, Jersey for kids & additional service in terms of Number printing service. Abstrak – Manajemen strategis merupakan salah satu aspek penting yang akan berperan dalam kesuksesan suatu bisnis. Kemampuan untuk menyusun strategi, desain, melaksanakan dan mempertahankan perencanaan dan tujuan dalam pelaksanaan bisnis sehari-hari akan memberikan dampak yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan bisnis yang mengabaikan aspek ini. Manajemen strategis akan mendorong arah perusahaan, tujuan yang ingin dicapai, kegiatan strategis yang akan dijalankan dan menjamin competitivenes dan keberlanjutan bisnis itu sendiri.Makalah ini mengambil kasus pembelajaran dengan objek PT. Fedco International, sebuah perusahaan konsultan yang bergerak di bidang Industrial Control System (ICS) Security Assurance, dengan cakupan layanan mencakup ICS security audit, desain dan implementasi, training dan konsultasi. Makalah ini membahas permasalahan bisnis yang dihadapi PT. Fedco International diantaranya adalah tingkat kewaspadaan para professional di industri terkait. Sementara itu permasalahan lainnya berupa tidak adanya diversifikasi bisnis yang menyebabkan pendapatan tidak stabil karena hanya mengandalkan satu bisnis inti, dimana bisnis inti tersebut saat ini sedang terkena dampak melemahnya pertumbuhan ekonomi dan rendahnya harga minyak bumi di pasaran internasional. Pendekatan konseptual yang digunakan adalah menggunakan analisa internal dan eksternal yang kemudian akan dipetakan ke sebuah model bisnis yang dapat diformulasikan ke dalam solusi manajemen strategi dan rencana implementasi.  Pada bagian akhir dari makalah ini akan dijabarkan mengenai rekomendasi aktifitas bisnis strategis yang terkait erat dengan solusi bisnis yang ditawarkan. Diantara rekomendasi implementasi adalah konsistensi dan komitmen untuk berbagi informasi dan pengetahuan pada para pelaku pasar di bisnis inti, disamping juga secara bersamaan membuat suatu aplikasi solusi berbasiskan IT untuk menunjang aktifitas bisnis inti dan portofolio diversifikasi bisnis. Konsep yang ditawarkan adalah menggunakan pendekatan free platform software dengan pilihan komersil untuk modul-modul lanjutan. Abstact - Western Java Area (WJA) is one of the operation area of PT . Pertamina Gas that currently responsible for managing and operating assets that exist in the western java area. Given today's gas business development especially in the Western Java Area, Banten and Jakarta very rapidly, especially in line with Government policy whereby natural gas into alternative fuels as a substitute for fuel oil price is higher today while its reserves are very low, many parties especially entrepreneurs or business in the gas industry , are racing to build gas infrastructure to meet the gas demand in the industrial zones in the regions of West Java and Banten in particular and gas needs in the Jakarta area.  With businesses becoming increasingly difficult to obtain land for the installation of firm gas infrastructure, then there is a business opportunity in the Western Java Area to increase the revenue of the land utilize is through a profit sharing by allocating land ROW value as equity capital in the form of participating. The methodology used PESTEL Analysis, SWOT Analysis, Supply/Demand Analysis, and 5-forces Analysis. From these analysis, then performed economic calculation that focused at PT.XYZ in Bitung Gas Pipeline Project.From the analysis and calculation performed concluded that by changing patterns of land rental rates by a third party to build a business-related infrastructure Pertagas of the original using the base "50% of SVTO" into "profit sharing" will provide increased revenues larger company. From case studies conducted successfully obtained a profit of 1.5 times Keywords : land  utilization, sharing profit, market value.

Abstract

Since 2010, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM – Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral) was always awarded as one of the government institutions with the best LAKIP Report. While in the real life, the Ministry of ESDM kept on received criticize by parliament and public about its national ESDM management. If the LAKIP of Ministry of ESDM was truly evaluated and considered good, then supposed to be there wont be any unrest among parliament and public response about the national ESDM Management. This situation indicating that False alarm phenomena has occurred in the ministry. False alarm phenomena is a condition where the Ministry of ESDM feels successfully achieved their KPIs, but the public and other stakeholders do not feel an improvement in the management of energy and mineral resources. This research would focused, and limited, to the area of KPI and framework analysis. The design of ESDM Ministry’s Performance Measurement System (PMS) then analyzed through steps of PMS design. The ESDM Ministry’s PMS was also benchmarked with other government/non-profit organization’s PMS. Abstract

Abstract. The oil and gas industry brings many economic benefits. However, these benefits are not without consequences. Oil and gas exploration could have a detrimental effect on the environment, over the time some of wells were shut in due to poor economics or because of mechanical problem, making them poor candidates for future use. There has been a steady increase in long-term idle wells that potentially has negative environmental impacts in one of the biggest oil field in Indonesia. To address the increasing number of long-term idle wells in this field, the division of production operation develops strategies to reduce the idle well inventory and lower the State’s potential well plugging liability in the future. This process resulted in the development of new strategies that require additional commitment for financial and resources in addition, idle well assessment is required to protect freshwater and hydrocarbon resources, and to help determine a well’s future resource potential. Kepner-Tregoe (K.T.) method was used to analyze what is the main and real issue cause huge number of long-term idle wells in Delta field. Methodology develops based on identified root cause, and then groups each root problem based on possible solution. Using this method, it is known that the majority of huge numbers of long-term idle well wells caused by (1) lack of Long term Plan, (2) low resources limitation, (3) limited alternative technology, (4) compete with other job, (5) lack of management commitment. Problems identified by Kepner-Tregoe using Method (KT) will be solve with two main activities; Negotiation of resources (business negotiations) to the company management to support plug and abandonment project, while for new alternative technologies, which is 1 sidetrack projects, will using project management processes to evaluate the feasibility of the project.With two major initiatives above, this company can avoid sanction ~250 MM USD abandonment job and make revenue ~ 2.1 MM USD from sidetrack project. Abstract

Abstract.– Senopati Penthouse (SPH) is an apartment product of PT Senopati Aryani Prima (SAP), the company faced an intense market competition. There are several strategy that can be performed such as (i) Perform internal & external analysis, etc. The result from the internal analysis shows that SPH has a weak level of branding recognition. While the external analysis shows that the competition in Jalan Senopati is very intense. The research methodology is quantitative and qualitative. In quantitative, questionnaires were handed to the customers, while the qualitative is more to interviews and discussions with the executive boards of the company. The primary data collection comes from the questionnaire and interview, whereas the secondary comes from articles, book, analysis, etc. The result is SPH needs to leverage its brand and also improve the quality of service to win the apartment competition.Keywords: Senopati Penthouse, Marketing Strategy, Marketing Mix, and STP

Abstract

This final project explores the problems faced by Qwords.com through some analysis. External environment that affect the opportunity and threat that experienced by the company is divided into two aspects, macro and micro. External environment macro analysis that has influence indirectly to the company's activities is analyzed using a PEST modeling. The external environment micro analysis is analyzed using Porter's Five Forces Model. The Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning of Qwords' web hosting will be analyzed, then analysis of marketing strategies (marketing mix) using 7P's model and SWOT analysis. It also examined the knowledge and consumer behavior to the web hosting product with using questionnaires. All analyzes are conducted to formulate the root cause of the problem that being faced by the company.From the results of the business issues exploration, we can get the cause of the problem are the high level of competition between web hosting providers, so there is a price war among web hosting providers and the company doesn't have the proper positioning formula for its web hosting product and segmentation for the customer that still limited to analyze by the company. Lack of marketing effort and market education about the web hosting products, so there is lack of consumer awareness of these products and there are perceptions from customer about the expensive of hosting product and lack of consistent and sustainable effort to promotional activity, so that making the company difficult to gain large market share.To overcome this, the company doing the mapping of potential markets that will be targeted, along with plan for positioning formula, in order to promotional activities that conducted by the company can run effectively and efficiently. The company also makes a partnership with college institutions and blogger communities, the purpose is to conduct education to consumer in the market towards web hosting products, and it can also be used by companies to increase sales volume. A variety of internet marketing activities can be performed as an alternative marketing strategy. It is considered because the high level of Internet usage in Indonesia at this time. Internet marketing strategy also does not require a lot of cost for implementation, so that companies can save the costs that being used for marketing activities.
