Pengaruh Ukuran Serbuk Biji Azadirachta Indica Dalam Minyak Kelapa Terhadap Organoleptik Siti Zamilatul Azkiyah

Neem (Azadiractha indica) has a dominant secondary metabolite compound in the form of azadirachtin found in the seeds. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of neem seed powder in coconut oil solvents on organoleptics. In this study using maceration and oil infusion extraction methods and organoleptic results were analyzed descriptively qualitatively including color, aroma and pH. Based on the results of the study showed that there was an effect of the size of neem seed powder in coconut oil solvent on organoleptic tests. In the observation of the color treatment of 80 mesh neem seed powder has the most concentrated color (+++) and the clearest (coconut oil) control. The results of the observation of the aroma of all treatments and controls are not rancid. In the pH measurement results are all acidic namely dick 5 and all treatments have a pH of 6. Keywords: Nimba Seeds, Coconut Oil, Organoleptic. ABSTRAK Nimba (Azadiractha indica) memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder dominan berupa azadirachtin yang terdapat pada bagian biji. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh serbuk biji nimba dalam pelarut minyak kelapa terhadap organoleptik. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekstraksi maserasi dan infus minyak dan hasil organoleptik dianalisis deskriptif kualitatif meliputi warna, aroma dan pH. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh ukuran serbuk biji nimba dalam pelarut minyak kelapa terhadap uji organoleptik. Pada pengamatan warna perlakuan serbuk biji nimba 80 mesh memiliki warna tidak jernih (+++) paling pekat dan kontrol (minyak kelapa) jernih. Hasil pengamatan aroma semua perlakuan dan kontrol tidak tengik. Pada hasil pengukuran pH semuanya bersifat asam yaitu kontol 5 dan semua perlakuan memiliki pH 6. Pengaruh Penambahan PVP Pada Indikator Alami Curcuma Longa L. Untuk Mendeteksi Boraks Pada Bakso Neneng Bisyaroh

Borax is widely used in making various foods such as meatballs, wet noodles, pisang molen, lemper, siomay, lontong, ketupat , and pangsit. Curcumin contained in turmeric can detect the presence of borax content in meatballs by breaking down the borax bonds to boric acid and binding them to rosa color complex compounds called boron compounds cyano curcumin complex. Making a test strip by immobilizing filter paper on the turmeric indicator which has been added polyvinyl pyrrolidone 1% and applied to the meatballs so that it can determine whether there is a borax content in the meatballs. The response time of the test strip is 30 seconds. The test strips of turmeric extract without the addition of polyvinyl pyrrolidone leave the remaining turmeric color in the meatballs while the test strip results of turmeric extract with the addition of polyvinyl pyrrolidone 1% do not leave the remaining turmeric color in the meatballs. The three meatball samples taken in the Pondok Sukorejo area did not contain borax. Keywords: Borax Content In Meatballs, Strip Test, Turmeric Indicator. ABSTRAK Boraks banyak digunakan dalam pembuatan berbagai makanan seperti bakso, mie basah, pisang molen, lemper, siomay, lontong, ketupat, dan pangsit. Kurkumin yang dikandung oleh kunyit dapat mendeteksi adanya kandungan boraks pada bakso dengan menguraikan ikatan–ikatan boraks menjadi asam borat dan mengikatnya menjadi senyawa kompleks warna rosa yang disebut dengan senyawa boron cyano kurkumin kompleks. Pembuatan strip test dengan cara mengimobilisasikan kertas saring pada indikator kunyit yang telah ditambah polivinil pirolidon 1% dan diaplikasikan pada bakso sehingga dapat mengetahui ada tidaknya kandungan boraks dalam bakso tersebut. Waktu respon dari strip test yaitu 30 detik. Strip test dari ekstrak kunyit tanpa penambahan polivinil pirolidon meninggalkan sisa warna kunyit pada bakso sedangkan hasil strip test dari ekstrak kunyit dengan penambahan polivinil pirolidon 1% tidak meninggalkan sisa warna kunyit pada bakso. Ketiga sampel bakso yang diambil di wilayah Pondok Sukorejo tidak mengandung boraks. Kata kunci : Kandungan Boraks dalam Bakso, Strip Test, Indikator Kunyit

Uji Organoleptik Serbuk Biji Azadirachta Indica Dalam Variasi Minyak Udrika Lailatul Qodri

Neem plants (Azadirachta indica) are commonly found in Situbondo Regency, and currently underutilized nimba plants have many benefits, both in agriculture as pesticides and in pharmaceuticals as medicines. The content of the active compound is more commonly found in nimba seeds. The largest active compound that is an insecticide in neem seeds (Azadirachta indica) is azadirachtin. Azadirachtin is a group of terpenoid compounds which are generally non-polar so that the extraction process can use non-polar solvents. In this study using oil as a carrier solvent, it is known that oil is non-polar. This research was conducted with the aim to know the organoleptic test results of neem seed powder (Azadirachta indica) in oil variations. Organoleptic test results showed physical changes of the three oils, clearly visible in the color produced after treatment. The results of the three samples showed that the color was not clear (turbid). The aroma produced from each oil is not rancid and the pH measurement shows an increase from 5 to 6. Keywords: Azadirachta Indica Seed, Oil, Organoleptic Test ABSTRAK Tanaman nimba (Azadirachta indica) banyak ditemukan di Kabupaten Situbondo, dan pada saat ini kurang dimanfaatkan Tanaman nimba memiliki banyak manfaat, baik dalam bidang pertanian yaitu sebagai pestisida maupun dalam bidang farmasi yaitu sebagai obat-obatan. Kandungan senyawa aktif insektisida lebih banyak ditemukan dalam biji nimba. Senyawa aktif terbesar yang bersifat insektisida dalam biji nimba (Azadirachta indica) yaitu azadirachtin. Azadirachtin merupakan golongan senyawa terpenoid yang umumya bersifat non polar sehingga proses ekstraksinya dapat menggunkaan pelarut non polar. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan minyak sebagai pelarut pembawa, telah diketahui bahwa minyak bersifat non polar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengatahui hasil uji organoleptik serbuk biji nimba (Azadirachta indica) dalam variasi minyak. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan perubahan fisik dari ketiga minyak, terlihat jelas pada warna yang dihasilkan setelah perlakuan. Hasil dari ketiga sampel menunjukkan warna tidak jernih (keruh). Aroma yang dihasilkan dari masing-masing minyak yaitu tidak tengik serta pada pengukuran pH menunjukkan kenaikan dari 5 menjadi 6. Kata Kunci: Biji Azadirachta Indica, Minyak, Uji Organoleptik

Moringa leaves are one part of the plant which has many health properties one of which is an antioxidant. One of the content of Moringa leaves which contains antioxidant activity is quercetin. Quercetin Is polar and insoluble in air. An experimental research method with a descriptive analysis design, starting with making Moringa leaf maserat, screening, and testing the SPF value, using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The purpose of this research was to find out the type of solvent against the SPF value of Moringa leaf maserat. Based on the experiments that have been carried out the methanol (6.75) solvent elds a higher SPF value compared to ethanol (5.32). Keyword: Moringa Leaf, Solvent, SPF. ABSTRAK Daun kelor merupakan salah satu bagian tanaman yang memiki banyak khasiat untuk kesehatan salah satunya ialah sebagai antioksidan. Salah satu kandungan daun kelor yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan aialah quercetin. Quercetin Bersifat polar dan tidak larut dalam air. Metode penelitian eksperimental dengan desain analisis deskriptif, dimulai dengan pembuatan maserat daun keor, penyaringan, dan pengujian Nilai SPF, menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis pelarut terhadap nilai SPF maserat daun kelor. Berdasarkan percobaan yang telah dilakukan didaptkan hasil bahawa pelarut methanol (6,75) memberikan nilai SPF lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan dengan pelarut etanol (5.32). Neem (Azadirachta indica) is known as an anti-insecticide that can affect approximately 400 species of insects. Neem is widely grown in Indonesia and easily found so it is used as a vegetable insecticide. Simple processing methods are needed so they can be easily applied. Preliminary treatment that can be done before immersion is one of them is reduction in particle size (grinding). This study aims to determine the effect of powder size on the physical characteristics of neem leaf immersion oil. By observing the results of immersion in olive oil Nimba powder leaf that has been sifted using 40, 60 and 80 mesh sieves. The results obtained show the size of the powder affects the color, clarity, aroma and specific gravity. Immersion oil of Neem leaf powder which sifted using 80 mesh sieve has blackish green color, concentrated and characteristic odor of neem and specific gravity of 0.907 g / ml. Keyword : Neem Leaf, Powder Size, Immersion, Olive Oil, Organoleptic. ABSTRAK Nimba (Azadirachta indica) dikenal sebagai anti insektisida yang dapat berpengaruh pada kurang lebih 400 jenis serangga. Nimba banyak tumbuh di indonesia dan mudah dijumpai sehingga digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai insektidsida nabati. Metode pengolahan secara sederhana pada pemanfaatan daun mimba diperlukan sehingga dapat dengan mudah diterapkan oleh masyarakat. Perlakuan pendahuluan yang dapat dilakukan sebelum dilakukan perendaman salah satunya pengecilan ukuran partikel (penggilingan). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran serbuk terhadap karakteristik fisik minyak rendaman daun Nimba. Dengan mengamati hasil rendaman dalam minyak zaitun serbuk Nimba yang telah diayak menggunakan ayakan 40, 60 dan 80 mseh. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan ukuran serbuk mempengaruhi warna, kejernihan dan aroma minyak hasil rendaman. Ukuran serbuk juga berpengaruh secara bermakna pada bobot jenis hasil rendaman. Minyak rendaman serbuk daun Nimba yang diayak menggunakan ayakan 80 mesh memiliki warna hijau kehitaman, pekat dan bau khas nimba serta bobot jenis sebesar 0,907 g/ml. Uji Toksisitas Ekstrak Biji Kelor (Moringa Oleifera) Terhadap Larva Nyamuk Aedes Aegypti Neneng Bisyaroh

In Indonesia, there are many plants that contain secondary metabolite compounds which can be a source of vegetable insecticides which can be used for vector control. Plants that can be used as vegetable larvicides include moringa seed extract containing secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids and phenolic compounds, namely saponins and tannins. These compounds are larvicidal against Aedes aegypti larvae. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of toxicity of Moringa oleifera seed extract to mortality of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. This type of research is a laboratory experimental study with a post test only control group approach, using 6 groups (negative control group, 500 ppm moringa seed extract, 750 ppm moringa seed extract, 1000 ppm moringa seed extract, 1250 ppm moringa seed extract, and 1250 ppm seed extract. moringa 1500 ppm). The results showed that the extract of Moringa oleifera seeds had a larvicidal effect on 3rd / IV instar Aedes aegypti larvae. 62.64%) while the lowest value was at a concentration of 500 ppm with 3.33 dead larvae (13.32%). Keywords: Moringa seeds, toxicity, Aedes aegypti larvae ABSTRAK Di Indonesia banyak memiliki tanaman yang memiliki kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dapat menjadi sumber bahan insektisida nabati yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengendalian vektor. Tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai larvasida nabati antara lain yaitu ekstrak biji kelor mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa senyawa alkaloid dan senyawa fenolik yaitu saponin dan tannin. Senyawa-senyawa tersebut bersifat larvasida terhadap larva Aedes aegypti. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat toksisitas dari ekstrak biji kelor (Moringa oleifera) terhadap mortalitas larva nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dengan pendekatan Post test only control group, menggunakan 6 kelompok (kelompok kontrol negatif, ekstrak biji kelor 500 ppm, ekstrak biji kelor 750 ppm, ekstrak biji kelor 1000 ppm, ekstrak biji kelor 1250 ppm, dan ekstrak biji kelor 1500 ppm). Penelitian ini diperoleh hasil yaitu ekstrak biji kelor (Moringa oleifera) memiliki efek larvasida terhadap larva Aedes aegypti instar III/IV jumlah kematian larva Aedes aegypti instar III/ IV memperlihatkan bahwa jumlah kematian larva tertinggi terdapat pada konsentrasi 1500 ppm yaitu sebanyak 15,66 ekor (62,64%) sedangkan nilai terendah terdapat pada konsentrasi 500 ppm dengan larva yang mati sebanyak 3,33 ekor (13,32%). Pengaruh Variasi Suhu Pengeringan Terhadap Pembuatan Simplisia Daun Mimba (Azadirachta Indica) Diana Lady Yunita Handoyo; M. Eko Pranoto

One of the plants that has long been used as a traditional medicine is neem (Azadirachta indica). The medicinal plants used are usually in the form of simplicia (plant material that has not undergone any processing and is generally in the form of dried material). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of drying temperature variations on the manufacture of neem (Azadirachta indica) leaf simplicia. This research is a type of research that is a laboratory experimental study with samples of neem leaves from the village of Sumberejo, Banyuputih District, Situbondo Regency. Drying uses the direct sun drying method, the drying method with direct sunlight is covered using a black cloth and drying using the oven method with temperature variations of 45 ℃, 50 ℃, 60 ℃. The results showed that the drying method affected the quality of neem leaf simplicia. Drying using an oven with a temperature variation of 45 ℃ and 50 ℃ is good drying because the results are bright green leaf color, tasteless, a distinctive smell of neem leaves, curved lancet-shaped leaves, jagged leaf edges, brittle when held, there is a distinctive smell. Keywords: Neem Leaves, Temperature, Simplicia ABSTRAK Salah satu tanaman yang telah lama digunakan sebagai obat tradisional adalah mimba (Azadirachta indica). Tanaman obat yang digunakan biasanya dalam bentuk simplisia (bahan tumbuhan yang belum mengalami pengolahan apapun dan umumnya berupa bahan yang dikeringkan). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi suhu pengeringan terhadap pembuatan simplisia daun mimba (Azadirachta indica). Penelitian ini merupakan Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan sampel daun mimba berasal dari daerah Desa Sumberejo Kecamatan Banyuputih Kabupaten Situbondo. Pengeringan menggunakan metode pengeringan matahari langsung, metode pengeringan dengan sinar matahari langsung ditutup menggunakan kain hitam dan pengeringan menggunakan metode oven dengan variasi suhu 45℃, 50℃, 60℃. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pengeringan berpengaruh terhadap mutu simplisia daun mimba. Pengeringan menggunakan oven dengan variasi suhu 45℃ dan 50℃ merupakan pengeringan yang baik karena didapat hasil warna daun hijau cerah, tidak berasa, bau khas daun mimba, daun berbentuk memanjang lanset bengkok, tepi daun bergerigi, rapuh saat digenggam, terdapat bau khas. Aktivitas Penolak Serangga (Insect Repellent) Ekstrak Klorofom Biji Mimba (Azadirachta Indica) Terhadap Kutu Beras (Calandra Oryzae) Isma Oktadiana; Venny Diah Ningsih

Plants that are currently being developed as botanical insecticides are those that produce essential oils. The largest active compound that is insecticidal in neem (Azadirachta indica) is azadirachtin, this compound belongs to the triterpenoid group. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of insect repellent activity of neem (Azadirachta indica) seed chlorophome extract against rice lice (Calandra oryzae). This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD). Consisting of neem seed extract treatment with a concentration of 0.1% and 0.5% and a control in the form of distilled water each 10 times. The results of this study indicated that the concentration of 0.1% and 0.5% neem seed extract test increased the mortality of rice lice. The longer the application time, the higher the mortality rate of rice lice. In the treatment of 0.5% neem seed extract, it could cause 67% mortality compared to 0.1% neem seed extract treatment and control. Keywords: Neem seeds, insect repellent, Calandra oryzae ABSTRAK Tumbuhan yang saat ini sedang dikembangkan sebagai insektisida nabati yaitu tumbuhan yang menghasilkan minyak atsiri. Senyawa aktif terbesar yang bersifat insektisida pada tanaman mimba (Azadirachta indica) adalah azadirachtin, senyawa ini termasuk dalam kelompok triterpenoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat aktivitas penolak serangga (insect repellent) ekstrak klorofom biji mimba (Azadirachta indica) terhadap kutu beras (Calandra oryzae). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdiri atas perlakuan ekstrak biji mimba konsentrasi 0.1% dan 0.5 % dan kontrol berupa akuades masing-masing 10 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Uji ekstrak biji mimba konsentrasi 0.1% dan 0.5% meningkatkan mortalitas kutu beras. Semakin lama waktu aplikasi maka semakin tinggi tingkat mortalitas kutu beras. Pada perlakuan ekstrak biji mimba 0.5% dapat menyebabkan kematian sebesar 67% dibandingkan dengan perlakuan ekstrak biji mimba 0.1% dan kontrol. Analisis Kuantitatif Minyak Atsiri Dari Serai (Cymbopogon sp) Sebagai Aromaterapi Udrika Lailatul Qodri

The increasing need for essential oils is directly proportional to the development of modern industries in the fields of perfume, food, cosmetics, medicine and aroma therapy industries. Lemongrass plant has the potential to produce essential oils and can be used as aromatherapy. The purpose of this study was to quantitatively analyze the essential oil of lemongrass (Cymbopogon sp.) As aromatherapy. This research is a quantitative descriptive study, namely the extraction of lemongrass, namely the part of the stem, the material used is simplicia and the next stage is to analyze the quality of simplicia (moisture content) and the identification of essential oils (yield, organoleptic testing and specific gravity). The results showed that the water content of lemongrass simplicia was 6%, the highest yield percentage in dry samples was 0.72%. The organoleptic results showed that the essential oil of lemongrass simplicia was light yellow, had a distinctive aromatic smell, had a bitter taste and a specific gravity of 0.878 gr / ml. Tanaman serai memiliki potensi sebagai penghasil minyak atsiri dan bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai aromaterapi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisa secara kuanitatif minyak atsiri dari tanaman serai (Cymbopogon sp.) sebagai aromaterapi. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu ekstraksi tanaman serai yaitu bagian batang, bahan yang digunakan adalah simplisia dan tahapan selanjutnya menganalisa mutu simplisia (kadar air) dan identifikasi minyak atsiri (rendemen, ujiorganoleptik dan bobot jenis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar air simplisia serai sebesar 6%, Presentase rendemen yang paling tinggi pada sampel kering yaitu 0.72%. Hasil organoleptik menunjukkan minyak atsiri dari simplisia serai berwarna kuning muda, berbau khas aromatic, rasa pahit dan bobot jenis 0.878 gr/ml. The problem of resistance is increasing along with the need for antimicrobials as an alternative in overcoming resistance problems. One solution is to utilize the content of secondary metabolite compounds in rhizome plants such as ginger. The content of compounds that are usually the most dominant in ginger such as essential oils, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenols. This study aims to determine the effect of ginger rhizome extract as an antibacterial on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in vitro. This study was a laboratory experimental study with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 7 treatments with 3 replications. The results showed that the ethanol extract of ginger rhizome had antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli. At concentrations of 20%, 40% and 80% which are more effective in inhibiting the growth of these two bacteria. The higher the extract concentration level, the larger the diameter of the inhibition zone from bacterial growth. This inhibition of bacterial growth is thought to have an effect on the content of the ginger root. Keywords: Ginger rhizome, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, antibacterial ABSTRAK Permasalahan tentang resistensi semakin meningkat seiring dengan kebutuhan antimikroba sebagai alternatif dalam mengatasi masalah resistensi. Salah satu solusinya yaitu dengan memanfaatkan kandungan dari senyawa metabolit sekunder pada tanaman rimpang-rimpangan seperti rimpang jahe. Kandungan senyawa yang biasanya paling dominan pada jahe seperti minyak atsiri, flavonoid, terpenoid dan fenol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari ekstrak rimpang jahe sebagai antbakteri terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli secara in vitro. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 7 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa ekstrak etanol rimpang jahe memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap S. Aureus dan E. coli. Pada konsenrasi 20%, 40% dan 80% yang lebih efktif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan kedua bakteri tersebut. Semakin tinggi tingkatan konsentrasi ekstrak maka diameter zona hambat dari pertumbuhan bakteri juga semakin besar. Terhambatnya pertumbuhan bakteri ini diduga adanya pengaruh dari kandungan pada rimpang jahe. Kata Kunci: Rimpang Jahe, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, antibakteri
