Abstract

Economic model assumes that an individual committing crimes is rational because the income which is generated through illegal occupations has greater expected utility than the legal. The expected utility which is the result of cost-benefit analysis will be weighted whether if illegal or legal occupations committed or not. Therefore, some experts developed supply of offense function as economic model, which indicates the factors affecting the total number of crimes as empirical study. The application  of supply of offense function supported with multiple  linear regression function, the factors affecting the total number of crimes  in Indonesia have following  results: wage  rate variables  indicated a negative and significant result and government expenditure  variables indicated positive and significant  result,  but the imprisonment  rate variables did not have significant result with  the total number of crimes in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to find whether it is possible for follower to influenced the leader. Here we have five followership style: alienated, passive, conformist, effective, and pragmatic survivor according to two dimensions. The first dimension is the quality of independent, critical thinking versus dependent, uncritical thinking. The second dimension is active versus passive behavior. The result shows that only effective follower are essential for an organization, and they are able to give some influence to the leader. Even the follower can have power over the leader if he or she control something that desired by the leader and this condition can create dependency of the leader to him or her. Many tactics can be used to influence the leader, such as reason, coalition, bargaining,  assertiveness,  and higher authority. Compensation for effective follower is career development, good personal  relationship,  and trust from the organization.

Abstract

Currently, there is a tight competition in service industry, especially in higher education or university. The administrators or universities have to understand deeply their students and try to fulfill their needs well to make them satisfied and tell positive word-of-mouth about the university. Therefore, the understanding of student satisfaction and other factors determining student satisfaction, such as service quality, reputation, and service value of the university, become very important. The objectives of this study are to know whether there are positive effects of service quality and reputation on service value. Furthermore, this study also try to verify whether there are positive effects of service quality and value on student satisfaction.  Results indicate that most of the empirical data support that  there are positive effects of service quality and reputation on service value. Likewise, this study proves that  there is a positive effect of service value on student satisfaction. However, this study also  find  that  there is not a positive effect of service quality  on student  satisfaction.

Abstract

Service management is very important, because it determines Service Quality. Service Quality determines customer's satisfaction, and customer's satisfaction determines customer's behavior intentions. It is not easy to measure Service Quality, especially because service is intangible, but every service company which want to improve their service quality, should measure their service quality. We can measure service quality using SERVQUAL or SERVPERF. Research result determined that SERVPERF better than SERVQUAL.

In the advertising, a certain style of executing messages can be encountered based on testimonial evidence. As regards testimonial evidence, the marketing party involved can employ several endorsers or make use of only one in advertisements to deliver the message.  The focus of study is on the extent to which messages' strength  in term of attractiveness,  convincingness, believability  and persuasiveness can be altered by an increase  in the number of endorsers. The research will test both messages that are perceived of having low quality persuasion and those are perceived of having high quality. The messages of the commercials are presented in audio-based commercials, a type of commercial that can only be heard by the respondents who cannot see the actual speaker's face.
