Abstract

ABSTRACT Fish catch handling highly influential by the quality of fish that must kept to be fresh. Maintaining the quality of the catch is done with good handling and correctly, especially the storage of fish is highly influenced by the quality of insulation (Insulator). Polyurethane is a solid plastic foam mixture by polyol and Isocynate commonly used as a thermal insulation material on fish hold. Coco fiber derived from coconut fruit seeds contain about 30% of the seed oil. Part of the cross section in the unit cell has a central hollow fibers that serves as an acoustic and thermal insulator so as to decrease the bulk density of the fiber is very well used as an insulator because it has a low thermal conductivity. The addition of coconut fiber as a biodegradable that has a physical properties as a heat insulator aims to minimize use of polyurethane as insulation, addition of Coco fibre can be done until 70%, and the addition of 95.5% density and water absorption reached 26.8%. Ability to absorb water composites increased from 15% to 50.98%, density increased to 5% at 516 kg/m3.Keywords : Coco Fibre, Composite, physical properties, Polyurethane and density

Abstract

This research was conducted on January to February 2015. It’s was aimed to determine the stress level of fish seed tapah (Wallago leeri) were domesticated at different temperatures and different feed doses through the observation of glucose, total blood plasma protein, absolute weight growth and survival, determining the optimal temperature and feed for the growth and survival of fish tapah at the stage of domestication. Tapah weight of fish seed used is 40-50g. The method used was completely randomized design with two factors, each factor consists of three levels. That factor is temperature and dosage of feed. Treatment with the temperature factor level as follows: 27ºC, 29ºC, and 31ºC, with the feed dose level factors as follows: 3%, 5%, and 7%. Based on the research results showed that the interaction of temperature and feed different doses give a real impact, especially on the interaction of temperature 29ºC with 5% fish feed dose test does not experience stress that is characterized by low glucose value 14.44 mg / dL, the average value total blood plasma protein of 5.35g/dL, provide the best growth in the absolute weight of 39g, and the percentage of survival of 100%. As for the temperature of 31ºC with different feed concentrations of fish are still in a state of stress that is characterized by high blood glucose levels, namely 33,57-39,67mg / dL, total blood plasma protein 2,57-2,92g / dL, absolute weight 0,87-3,450g and survival of 50-75%.

Abstract

In recent years, many net cages for aquaculture activities, especially for culturing Wallago leeri and Mystus numerus are placed along the Kampar River, especially in the Buluhcina Village. The remain of fish feed, namely rotten chicken flesh have polluted the water. This study aimed to identify the cage culture profile; to analyze the feasibility of the business and the carrying capacity of the environment. This research was conducted in August 2016 – March 2017. There are three observation stations,  Station 1 (before the cage area), Station 2 (the cage area) and Station 3 (after the cage area). Sampling was conducted once. The length of the river is 1.4 Km and 594 single unit net cages are placed along 1,2 Km river. Among the cages, 570 units (96% )are used to the culture of W. leeri,  19 units (3.2%) for M. numerus and the rest, 3 units are for rearing Pangasius sp. and Oreochromis niloticus (1 unit). The carrying capacity of the waters is 496.1 tons/year. The current annual production of W. leeri is 228 tons/year, it is less than the maximum potency.  It is predicted that the culture can be increased by 258.5 ton/year or 646 cages. The recent RCR value is 1.120, indicates that this business is profitable and it could be continued.
