Abstract

The research was conducted in Panglima Raja Village ConcongSubdistrict Indragiri Hilir Regency of Riau Province. It was aimed to identify oflocal wisdom had been done in society of Panglima Raja Village. The researchwas done by case study or grounded research method.The result of research that there are local wisdom in exploiting andconserve coastal zone resources in Panglima Raja Village. Local wisdom thatidentified in exploiting of coastal zone resources in Panglima Raja are 1) decidedthe timing, weather, season in doing fishing 2) to develop traditional fishing gearin catch and collect the shell 3) decide the cutting zone the mangrove and thenlocal wisdom to conserve there are 1) the ceremony to honor the sea 2)commitment not to catch and kill the dolphin 3) believe there are secret zone 4)commitment not to throw the rubbish into the sea 5) commitment not to use ofsongko mesin in collecting the shell 6) guard the mangrove in coastal zone.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the suistability and carrying capacity of marine tourism in Mangkian island of the Anambas Islands Marine Tourism Park. The survey was conducted in Mangkian Island, Batu Belah Village, East Siantan District, July to September 2017. Environmental parameters of coral cover (life form), and some aquatic biota strongly support marine tourism activities in this area. The results showed that The level of suitability of maritime tourism is at IKW value for coastal tourism category is very suitable, category diving tour accordingly, and snorkeling tour category according to conditional. The carrying capacity of the area in every tourism activity that is beach tourism 101 people / day, dive tourism 123 people / day and snorkeling tourism is recommended need rehabilitation first. Public perceptions on the management and development of marine tourism, especially in the ecological, economic and socio-cultural aspects of local communities.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impact of type C surface mining materials at the river water environment parameters (flow velocity, depth, turbidity, temperature, water transparency, TSS, pH, DO and BOD5) and the social economic communityin Kampung Pinang village. The method was a survey where the water quality samples taken from 6 stations set with two repetitions then its value compared with the supporting literature, expert opinions and Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001. For the social economic aspects of the respondents conducted in-depth interviews. The results of this study showed the water temperature ranged from 29 - 29.5°C. Water transparency values ranging from 0.43 -  0.67 m. Turbidity values ranged from 54.4 - 61.8 NTU. Flow velocity values ranged from 0.07 - 0.25 m/sec. The depth of the river waters ranged from 2.4 - 8.4 m. TSS values ranged from 42.4 - 58.6 mg/l. Dissolved oxygen values ranged from 4.1 - 4.6 mg/l. The value of the degree of acidity (pH) is 6. Value BOD5 in river waters ranged from 3.1 - 3.7 mg/l. Based of the value of type C surface mining materials tends to affect the brightness, turbidity, depth and TSS. The impact also affects the equilibrium of the river that leads to large sediment transport, a decrease in the river bottom, sliding cliffs, changes the river morphology and pattern of current flow of the river. Social economic impact is a reduction in unemployment, an increase in income of the community, the presence of free time for family, increase cash income for the village, lack of job security led to accidents, reduced convenience of the public due to pollution and damage to the road and then the fear of the people on the banks of the river because of the potential for landslides.

Abstract

This researct was conducted on September 2015 to April 2016. Fish reproduction is controlled by endocrine system that is affected by external factors such as photoperiod. Changing in photoperiod may affect the gonad development in fish. To understand the effect of different photoperiod in gonad development of O. hypopthalmus, the fishes were reared in fiber tanks (140 x 60 x 40 cm) with water circulation system and completed with aerator. The treatments applied were : natural photoperiod, 24D (continuous dark), 16D8L (16 hours dark and 8 hours light), 12D12L (12 hours dark and 12 hours light), 8D16L (8 hours dark and 16 hours light) and 24L (25 continuous light), and the fish were feed on shrimp and cricket enriched commercial pellet. The fishes were sampled once/month, 4 fishes/sample. Parameters investigated were body length, body weight, gonad development, hepatosomatic index (HSI), viscerosomatic index (VSI) and gonadosomatic index (GSI). Based on the research  results different photoperiod did not affect the gonad development of O. hypopthalmus. There was no special pattern in gonad development in all treatments. The gonads were first developed in 13 – 37 weeks old male and female fishes. The female gonad, however, developed earlier than that of the male. The smallest female with developed gonad was 10.65 cm TL and 5.55 g BW. While that of the male was 16.7 cm TL and 16.7 g BW. During the research there was no mature fish.  The HSI and VSI shown similar patterns, it was increased by the second month (17 weeks old fish) and then decreased. This decrement indicates that the energy stored has been used for gonad development. Based on data obtained it can be concluded that the photoperiod does not affect the gonad development of ompok hyopthalmus.

Abstract

The Research on the management of protected areas Danau pulau Besarand Danau Bawah Zamrud Siak Regency Riau Province was conducted in Januaryto December 2010. Aimed of this reseach was to created model of a sustainablemanagement of Pulau Besar lake and Bawah lake of Zamrud. The results showedthat sustainable management of the lake can be done with a variety of scenariosand policies. Scenarios and policies through the reduction of sedimentconcentration by 50% and a reduction gear by 5% every year. The result alsoincrease in CPUE of 12.1%, and the catch fisherman increased by an average78.02 kg per year and increased revenues percapita of Rp.1.123.569 per year, thecatch and optimal revenue occurred in 2016.Keywords : Sediment, CPUE, Effort, Optimal Revenue

Abstract

Catfish (Pangasius hyphothalmus) is one type of freshwater economicalfish that begins developed by fish farmers to cultivation. Catfish are easy to breed,easy maintenance and fast growth. The problem that often be faced in catfishcultivation is the high price of fish diets. One source ingredient used in theformulation of the diet is soybean meal, but the price is relatively expensivebecause of the imported commodity. To reduce dependence on soybean meal, it isnecessary to find an alternative source of local commodity are easily obtained,continuous availability, and have high nutritional value, namely the use velvetbean meal (Mucuna pruriens). The research was aimed to study the utilization ofvelvet bean meal as substitution of soybean meal on diets to the growth of catfishfingerlings. A completely randomized design was five treatments and threereplications. The treatments used applied 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% velvet beanmeal percentation. Data were analyzed by using ANOVA. The result showeds thattreatment of diet did not give significant influence to the growth of catfishfingerlings. It can be concluded that the velvet bean meal can be used to substitutesoybean meal on diets to the growth of catfish fingerlings from substitution rate of25% to 100%. The best percentage is level substitution 75 % velvet bean meal +25% soybean meal.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the physico-chemical characteristics and amino acid profile from sembilang fish meal with different handling methods. This research is using experimental method. Different handling methods used in this study were S0 (fresh fish), S1 (powdered fishmeal stored at cold temperatures), and S2 (powdered fishmeal kept at freezing temperatures). The results showed that S1 was the best handling of fish meal with yield of 14.13%, white degree 75.43%, water absorption 58.6%, acidity 8.0% water content 8.66%, ash content of 2.10%, protein content 80.48%, 4.20% fat content, total essential amino acid 39.12%, and non-essential amino acids 48.87%.

Abstract

Shell of blue swimming crabs is an potential source of glucosamine as their producttion is abundant and not yet economically utilized. In tis study glucosamin was extracted from chitin and chitosan of blue swimming crabs shells by HCl of various concentrations (33%, 35%, 37%), and the products obtained were evaluated for rendement, quality characteristics. The results indicated that the highest glucosamine rendement was obtained from chitin extracted with 33% HCl, but the best purity, Lod and melting point was produced from chitosan extracted by 35% HCl. Compared to standar, glucosamin purity, Lod and melting point extracted from t kitosan was slightly lower. The purity, moisture, Lod and melting point of glucosamin extracted from chitosan of blue swimming crabs shell as well as standart was 65,543%; 5,208%, 0,856%; 186°C; and 95%; 5,194%; 0,767; 190°C respectively.

Abstract

This research was conducted during start in January 2015 - July 2015. It’s was aimed to  generate economic value of ecosystem services Koto Panjang Reservoir by calculating the total economic value of ecosystems Koto Panjang Reservoir. The method used is survey by using primary and secondary data. The analytical method used to calculate the total economic value of ecosystems Koto Panjang Reservoir using total economic value framework and the framework of the millennium ecosystem assessment. Based on the research of the study obtained the economic value of ecosystem Koto Panjang Reservoir obtained successively for cultivation activities amounting are Rp. 334 233 226, capture fisheries activities of fishing boat engines Rp. 1264469391, capture fisheries activities of fishing rowboats Rp. 232 924 194 the total economic value of Rp. 1831626811.

Abstract

This study was conducted at fish breeding and hatchery laboratory ofFisheries and Marine Science Faculty, University of Riau. Mature female ofselais fish used in the study were between 45-50 g body weight and male fishwere between 44-55 g body weight. Study method used in the study wasexperimental method,while data was analised by descriftive method. Theresultsof the study show that the highest percentage of fertilized eggs found on thetreatment of D0, 3W7 (fish injected with sGnRH + Domperidon 0,3 ml/kg andlaten time of 7 hours), and the highest percentage of eggs hatch was found on thetreatment of D0,5W8 and D0,7W6. However, treatment without injection withsGnRH + domperidon was no single fish was ovulated.
