Abstract

The study was conducted from November 2006 to May 2007 at around activities of crude oil industry in Dumai.The purpose of this research is to determinate the pollution rates at water level surface based on physic-chemistry parameters, and the correlations of pollution rates to macrozoobenthos in basin. The method of studyconsisted of several step from determination of sampling station for 8 stations; measurement of Pollutant Index(IP) based on water physic-chemistry parameters; whereas Pollutant Degree (DP) based on macrozoobenthosdiversity. The analysis of clusters was used to classify pollution rates based on stations distribution. Spearmancorrelation test was used to get the correlation between IP and DP. During 2002 to 2006, IP value averages atstudy locations between 0,17 – 0,93 was classified in unpolluted with tendency in good relatively. Whereas DPvalue averages between 2,40 – 2,67 was classified in moderate polluted with tendency in good relatively.

Abstract

The aims of this research to assess the environmental condition of the Senapelan river and Sail river waters by the species abundance of epilithic diatom. This research identified 14 genera of epilithic diatom. The abundance of epilithic diatom at Senapelan river 48.779cell/cm2 and Sail river 15.564 cell/cm2. The value of diversity indices (H '), Senapelan river(2.936) and Sail river (2.336), the value of equability indices (E '), Senapelan river (0.691)and Sail river (0.550), and the dominant indices (C'), Senapelan river (0.187) and the Sailriver (0.336). Based on these indices Senapelan river and Sail river were included intomoderate polluted waters. Species that dominate Senapelan river and Sail river waters ofPekanbaru City are Navicula sp., Nitzchia sp, Fragilaria sp. and Melosira sp.

Abstract

Negative impacts of waste become a problem especially in urban areas. Waste reduction can be implemented by increasing the role of the community through the 3R Program (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). This study has been conducted from March to May 2017 in Tembilahan city using survey method and descriptive analysis. Data was collected by direct observation and interview to the research object in the form of current community behavior and government participation. This study aims to formulate the strategy of 3R Program in Tembilahan city by using SWOT-AHP analysis. The results showed that there were eight strategic alternatives according to importance weight priority in 3R Program strategy, namely: (a) optimizing TPST/TPS-3R for waste management; (b) disseminating the 3R Program effectively; (c) creating innovations in waste processing efforts; (d) empower communities in small scale waste processing industries; (e) Increase local government performance in waste management; (f) empower communities in the 3R Program; (g) establishing TPST/TPS-3R in each sub-district; and (h) controlling communities waste production. Therefore, good coordination among stakeholders related to the implementation of alternative strategies which has been formulated so that able to establish 3R Program based waste management in Tembilahan City.

Abstract

Today’s food security problem is already a global problem, so that take the main attention insetting public health policy. From the monitor results of Indonesia food and drug regulatorydepartment (POM RI) to outbreak events (KLB) of food poisoning in Indonesia in 2004showed that there had been outbreaks of food poisoning. POM states that the practice ofhygiene and sanitasion are low due to inadequate supply of water, hand washing facilitiesand trash in the neighborhood surrounding the school canteen and school , was the maincause of streetfood safety issues. This study aimed to determine the factor associated with theincidence of contamination of E. coli in streetfood stalls in the primary school environment inthe Kecamatan Bangkinang in 2012 conducted with population 21 primary. This study is across sectional study was conducted in September to Oktober 2012. Subjects in this study isthat three are stalls in the elementary school environment. This study uses primary data isdone by using questionnaire and observation method. The results were obtained picture ofthe food processing are eligible for 17 (81%), presentation of food that did not meetrequirement for 15 (71,4%), construction of building that do not qualify for 14 (66,7%),sanitation facilities are not eligible for 17 (81%) and handlers are not eliglible for 12(57,1%). Bivariant variable results get related variabel presentation of food, facilitiessanitation and handlers. Conclusion that presentation of food, facilities sanitation andhandlers can give bad effect to contamination of Escherichia coli in streetfood stalls.

Abstract

Lung capacity is the capacity of lung function that is the description of the function of the respiratory system ventilation so that an unknown amount of capacity ventilation and the presence or absence of lung function abnormalities ventiliator (Brunner & Suddarth, 2010). Process disturbance lung capacity at the start of their lung function disorders caused by the presence of dust. Dust is one of the pollutants that can lead to respiratory problems for workers in industries associated with the dust in the production process. Dust is also often referred to as particles suspended in air (Suspended Particulate Metter / SPM) with a size of 1 micron to 500 microns. The purpose of this study was to determine the analysis comparison of ambient dust levels on the incidence of lung disorders vital capacity in industrial factory workers. This study uses observational study design, with a cross-sectional design that was conducted in June-August 2015 in Plant PT JR and SR Kampar PT. Number of samples 40 people. Measuring instruments used are questionnaires and observation sheets. Analiais data used is simple logistic regression. The results showed that the density of dust is not normal in a company 10 times the risk of impaired lung function compared to the density of dust in the normal threshold (CI 2.892 to 21.659). While the company at risk of 21.6 times and impaired lung function compared to the density of dust in the normal threshold (CI 1.313 to 335.951) after controlling for confounding variables is the variable sport. Workers who are not using PPE at company A risk 8 times impaired lung function compared with workers who use PPE (CI 2.692 to 24.659). While the company and 3.5 times the risk of impaired lung function compared with workers who use PPE (CI 0.166 to 73.717). Advised on factory workers to maintain the safety of health themselves by using personal protective mill dust density environment experienced during work.

Abstract

From the results of the prevalence of leprosy on 10 houses of lepers in Keritang Sub-district as follows 7 houses lacking of ventilation, 8 homes lacking of lighting, 7 houses have high humidity, and 8 houses have dense housing, for the characteristics of the community 7 people work as farmers and have income under the Indragiri Hilir Regency Regional Minimum Wage. The purpose of the study was to analyze the risk factors of the physical environment of the house, the risk factors of community characteristics, the most dominant risk factors and describe the socio-economic effects of leprosy. The study was conducted from February to April 2018, the number of samples was 25 people and controls 50 people. The research population of all the keritang communities suffering from leprosy has been diagnosed by a doctor and recorded in the register of the City Health Center. The research instruments were questionnaires, observation sheets and stationery and roll meter measuring instruments, luxmeter and hygrometer. This study used a survey method with case-control design to determine the risk factors of the physical environment of the house and community characteristics associated with the incidence of leprosy in the Keritang District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The results showed that there was an influence of 0.027 Pvelue ventilation (OR 3.6), 0.007 Pv (OR 5.1), Pv humidity 0.001 (OR 6.5), 0.041 Pv (OR 3.3), 0.018 Pv occupancy (OR 3.9), income of Pv 0.016 (OR 4.3). The dominant risk factors for air humidity are Exp (B) / OR of 5,487 and employment of 4,358. Socio-economic effects: 92.% are still working, 82.6% are still productive and 17.4% are not productive, 80% are not easy to get health services, 80% still have stigma or fear and 100% say it is still difficult to get married or accepted by society.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Teluk Pambang Village Bantan Sub District Bengkalis Region dated from July to September 2011. This study aims to value the total economicpotential value of mangrove ecosystem in Teluk Pambang Village, determine alternativepattern of utilization and management. The method used in this study was survey method. The economic value was calculated based on the total direct economic value, indirecteconomic value, option value and existence value. This study also calculated net presentvalue (NPV) for 25 years in order to get representation for economic value in future. According to the data analysis, it was found 10 species of mangroves which has economicvalue and 7 species of mangrove fauna. The total economic value for 1 acre of mangroveecosystem was IDR. 1,409,454,390.18 acre-1 y-1 with net present value (NPV) was IDR.12,793,673,903.53 acre-1 for 25 year mangrove rotation cycle. While, the percentagebetween total resources and utilization was only 0.035%. According to this research, it canbe arranged 3 alternatives for utilizations in mangrove area. The best result of the alternativeshas been made is alternative with prioritize for sustainable ecosystem. Moreover, the management scheme which can be done for this mangrove area is a model of conservationmanagement with the aim of maintaining the sustainability of environmental services.

Abstract

Traditional and modern food processing derived from catfish, such as fish fillets, smoked, salted, nuggets, meatballs, shredded and others; generate solid waste such as meat tetelan, abdominal fat, liver, bone, head, fins and innards. These wastes account for about 20-60% and is considered as part of that do not have economic value. Whereas solid waste is still potential as a raw material that contains relatively high nutritional value. Thus the utilization of solid waste that can generate added value in the form of raw materials and feed fish food industry. Conversely, if the solid waste is not utilized, will surely disturb the surrounding environment, good for water, air, soil, and the surrounding population. At this time there is no productive business specializing in the utilization of solid waste from the processing of catfish into industrial raw materials of food and fish feed. The possibility of this was due to the unavailability of data and information adequate technical and economical. In order to meet the needs of the research that was conducted. This study aimed to analyze the economic valuation of the utilization of industrial solid waste processing of catfish, the raw material of functional food and feed that meet the quality standards in accordance with the National Standards Indonnesia (SNI) as well as to determine the recommendation whether it is feasible or not the establishment of the business of processing food and feed of waste Solid results catfish processing of household or industrial scale. This research is a lab-scale experiments using technology that has undergone several modifications. The results showed that the technology is capable of producing industrial raw materials in the form of Fish Protein Concentrate (KPI), fish oil, bone meal and pyloric caeca crude enzyme in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard. , Judging from the environmental impact assessment and business analysis Gross NPV Rp. 24.788.000, BCR 1.15, IRR of 65.91% ,PR of 2.607 , then the utilization of solid waste business establishment catfish processing household scale feasible.

Abstract

Development Policy, Regulation and clean water resources controls in Pekanbaru Town can beachieved by constructing appropriate permit and regulation. However, the current permit andregulation do not include several important aspects such as domestic waste pollution limit forexcrement waste in individual housing. On the other hand, poor coordination for protection ofclean water resources is giving housing developer a chance to build a house according to theyown standard, which is far from expectations. In fact, from 80 houses, that have already builtand owned, indicate that only 26 percent of the houses have located septic tank 10 meter awayfrom the house’s clean water resources. Nevertheless, 90 percent of the houses do not havewater resistant septic tanks and about 40 percent the septic tank never been empty. The otherproblem is that clean water quantity 48,75 percent of the house has this issue, followed by waterodor problem 74,4 percent and the last problem is the total house has breach legal limit for theamount of coliform in their water has reached 50 percent. It is recommended that Pekanbarugovernment have to improve their current Clean Water Resources policy by creating newstandard operational procedures (SOP), and increase the supervision of housing development,especially in real estate industry in Pekanbaru Area as well as the function and sectionimprovement of current duties. When the policy is improved with SOP and supported by theincreasing of supervision and coordination, Clean Water Resources pollution can be controlledand minimise.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of behavior, income and sanitation on theincidence of diarrhea. This research is a field survey using cross sectional method withsampling proportional stratified random sampling with a sample of 96 families . Thevariables measured were PHBs , income and sanitation (latrines and drinking water) tothe incidence of diarrhea. The results showed that the views of the multiple logisticregression can be concluded that all the independent variables of the study effect on theincidence of diarrhea. Most influential variable is the variable that is the type ofsanitary water storage with p value 0.000
