Abstract

This study investigates the potential of incorporating Qiaopi, the traditional postal system used by overseas Chinese, into university patriotism education as a means to strengthen students' moral and cultural values. Qiaopi, a significant element of cultural heritage, encapsulates values such as integrity, patriotism, filial piety and perseverance, which are essential for fostering a well-rounded moral compass among students. By exploring Qiaopi as both a historical artifact and a medium for cultural transmission, this research highlights its unique ability to enhance students' cultural awareness and deepen their sense of patriotism. Using a qualitative methodology, the study involves a analysis of existing literature on Qiaopi. The aim is to understand how Qiaopi's rich cultural significance can be leveraged in modern educational settings to cultivate a stronger sense of national identity among students. The findings reveal that Qiaopi, when integrated effectively into the curriculum, can serve as a valuable educational resource that not only teaches historical and cultural knowledge but also instills important moral values. The study underscores the importance of optimizing the use of Qiaopi in educational programs. This can be achieved by developing digital resources that make Qiaopi more accessible, organizing cultural research activities, and promoting its integration into classroom instruction. Additionally, creating a campus environment that actively supports cultural heritage can further amplify the impact of Qiaopi-based education. Ultimately, this research advocates for a more dynamic and culturally enriched approach to patriotism education that better prepares college students to address the complexities of the globalized world while maintaining a strong moral foundation

Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of the community, with a specific focus on women, regarding their roles in environmental preservation in Cikeduk Village-Cirebon. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing a phenomenological approach to delve deeply into the lived experiences and perceptions of women in this context. Data were collected through a combination of interviews, documentation, and direct observations within the village. To ensure the validity of the findings, the study implemented source and technique triangulation, while data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study's findings revealed a dichotomy in perceptions concerning women's roles in environmental preservation. On one hand, positive perceptions highlight the belief that maintaining sanitation and greenery is not only a significant responsibility for ensuring community well-being and comfort but also provides economic benefits, particularly through activities like tree planting. On the other hand, negative perceptions are characterized by the belief that cleanliness is not a personal responsibility and is not a priority for many individuals. The study identified three key roles that women play in environmental management in Cikeduk: environmental education, reforestation efforts, and the management of domestic waste. These roles are crucial in shaping the village's approach to sustainability. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing environmental education from an early age to foster an environmentally conscious generation. It also suggests expanding women’s empowerment programs, particularly in environmental management, and addressing negative perceptions through targeted socialization efforts. These recommendations align with the ecofeminist perspective, which emphasizes the critical role of women as agents of change in environmental preservation

Abstract

This study examines the lived experiences of selected inmates, some of whom have been released from New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, Philippines, focusing on how incarceration has transformed their lives. Faced with significant mental and emotional challenges, the inmates embraced a new life of faith amid the harsh realities of prison life. The study employs a phenomenological method to gather narratives from the inmates and analyze them thematically. The central issue this research addresses is understanding how prison experiences trigger spiritual transformation in individuals. The study's objective is to explore the spiritual changes experienced by the inmates through religious participation, using the theoretical framework of existential philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. Kierkegaard's concepts of the paradoxical nature of despair and the three stages of life—the aesthetic, the ethical, and the religious—are applied to understand the spiritual dynamics experienced by the inmates. The findings reveal that participation in religious activities can ignite profound spiritual change, even within the confines of physical and personal restrictions. The inmates' narratives highlight a journey from despair to spiritual awakening, illustrating the existential dynamics of human freedom, authenticity, and community. The study recommends providing spiritual support as an integral part of inmate rehabilitation, emphasizing how religious participation can offer inner freedom even amid physical confinement.

Abstract

In Philippine history education, the growing influence of digital media has shifted students' learning preferences, offering both opportunities and challenges. The widespread use of social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok has affected how students access and engage with historical content. A key challenge is that social media, with its easily digestible information, impacts students' attention spans and trust in traditional versus digital sources. This shift underscores the importance of integrating multimedia tools into history education while maintaining rigorous academic standards. This study examines how students' inclination toward social media influences their engagement with historical content and trust in information sources. Using a phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with students from diverse educational backgrounds. The analysis highlights the growing reliance on visual and auditory learning methods, reflecting the "digital native" phenomenon. Although social media offers easy access to information, students still prefer traditionally published historical materials for their credibility and authoritative nature. However, the brevity of social media content tends to reduce students' interest in conducting deeper historical research. The study recommends that educators incorporate multimedia elements in history education to improve student engagement while fostering critical thinking and media literacy. Balancing the use of digital tools with high academic standards is essential to ensure students develop a comprehensive understanding of history

Abstract

In the context of the rapid development of network information technology, the Internet has increasingly influenced various sectors, including sports. One critical issue that arises in sports is the leakage of athletes' personal information, which has become a prominent concern in network information security. Athlete data not only concerns their privacy but also holds significant economic value, making it vulnerable to exploitation. As a result, protecting athletes' data has become a pressing issue, with an urgent need to safeguard their independent rights and interests. This study aims to address the challenges surrounding the protection of athletes' information. Specifically, it seeks to investigate the inadequacies of traditional protection methods, which have operated mainly within personality and privacy rights frameworks. However, with the increasing commercialization of athletes' data and the growing recognition of its asset-like properties, these traditional approaches are no longer sufficient to ensure comprehensive protection. The study employs a literature review method and comparative analysis, focusing on various perspectives regarding athletes' information protection. The findings highlight the need to shift from the traditional legal frameworks towards a new system that considers athlete data's personal and economic dimensions. As a recommendation, the study strongly advocates for developing a more robust and multi-dimensional protection system, incorporating legal and financial measures to safeguard athletes' rights in the digital era
