Abstract

This study focuses on the sustainable economy-based management of tofu industry waste in Teja Timur Village, Pamekasan, with an emphasis on applying circular economy principles through community empowerment. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The research instruments consisted of semi-structured interview guidelines and observation sheets. Data were analyzed thematically through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. To strengthen validity, the study involved seven informants selected based on specific criteria, including tofu industry owners, workers, and community members engaged in waste management. The findings indicate that local communities actively transform solid waste into economically valuable products such as tempe gembus and animal feed, contributing to increased income and strengthened local economic resilience. These practices reflect the implementation of the reduce, reuse, and recycle (3R) principles within a circular economy framework. The study recommends enhancing support for appropriate technologies, entrepreneurship training, and institutional regulation to optimize and sustain this waste management system.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) Determine the level of feasibility of animated video-based learning media and (2) Analyze the effectiveness of animated video-based learning media created using the Canva and Capcut applications. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The process of developing animated video-based learning media starts from the analysis stage, followed by the design stage and enters the development stage, then the implementation stage and finally the evaluation stage. The validation results show that this media meets quality standards in terms of appearance, content, and effectiveness in delivering learning materials. The results of trials with students and teachers at SMAN 12 Kupang City show that the developed learning media is effective to use and students feel more motivated in learning and understanding the material through video media. It is recommended that teachers combine their teaching methods with video-based media to be more interactive. Further research is important to explore the extent to which the use of this media affects students in the long term.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of interactive media Wordwall in increasing student activeness in the subject of Social Knowledge (IPS) at Sungai Mulia Guidance Studio 5 Gombak, Malaysia. Using Classroom Action Research (PTK) method in two cycles, each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 19 6th grade students. In the first cycle, the Wordwall "Spin the Wheel" feature was applied, while the second cycle used "Open the Box" in group discussions. The results showed an increase in student activeness from the initial condition of 21% to 52.6% in the first cycle, and increased again to 84.2% in the second cycle. The application of Wordwall is able to create a more lively, fun, and classroom atmosphere that encourages active student participation. The conclusion of this study is that Wordwall media not only increases student activeness, but also strengthens understanding of concepts and builds student confidence in the process of social studies learning. Thus, Wordwall is an interactive learning media that is effective and relevant to be applied in non-formal education

Abstract

This research addresses the problem of students’ low interest in social studies, which is often perceived as overly theoretical, monotonous, and lacking relevance to everyday life. These perceptions contribute to low motivation and limited student participation during learning activities. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of integrating an operant conditioning approach into social studies learning to improve academic achievement. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design, involving two junior high school classes. The experimental group received treatment through the application of reward and punishment strategies based on operant conditioning principles, while the control group underwent conventional instruction. Results showed a significant increase in academic achievement in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings indicate that reinforcement-based learning can effectively enhance students' motivation and academic performance in social studies. The implication of this study highlights the value of incorporating psychological approaches into teaching strategies. Applying operant conditioning can help teachers create a more conducive and engaging learning environment, encouraging student participation and supporting better learning outcomes. Therefore, behaviorist strategies, particularly reinforcement, are recommended as a practical approach to address motivational issues in social studies education.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a diversity of ethnic races, religions, cultures and languages. Differences in entities allow social disintegration between individuals and groups. This can be prevented through social capital owned by multicultural communities in Kampung Jawa. This study aims to understand the role of social capital in shaping inter-ethnic harmony and integration in preventing conflict in the Javanese village in Wanasari Hamlet. The theory used in this research is social capital proposed by Fukuyama and reinforced by Pierre Bordieu. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through the observation stage of interviews and documentation with research subjects selected using purposive sampling. The results of this study explain that the Javanese Village Community with different ethnic backgrounds can live side by side and the social capital that is present to control conflicts include trust through a cultural approach, prevailing community norms, social networks that strengthen solidarity and community participation in various activities. These three components foster positive values in the Kampung Jawa community such as the value of togetherness, cooperation and reciprocal relationships in terms of goodness among the community. Thus, social capital plays an important role in fostering harmony, maintaining positive relationships and minimizing conflict.
