This article aims to examine the use of local character values in the development of social studies teaching materials in schools. The method used is 4-D Thiagarajan model which has four stages; (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Dessiminate. From the research process, there are significant differences between learning before using local character values and after using local characters. This is indicated by the difference in the value of the pre-test and post-test, after the treatment of the use of local character values in the IPS teaching and learning process the value of t_count shows greater than the t_table value of 1.7> 1.685 for 5%. The n-gain value of the pre-test and post-test was 0.58 in the medium category. This value shows the value of local character has a significant effectiveness in improving student?s national insight.

Branding is urgent in a business because it is through branding that consumers know our commodities. However, business actors often do not pay much attention to branding and marketing their products. This is the reason for holding this mentoring program. Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah Pamekasan already has produced results in the form of flip-flops but only for the internal needs of the orphanage and has not been able to market it to outside parties because it does not have branding. This empowerment method uses Asset-Based Community-driven Development (ABCD) with a target of 25 children from Panti Asuhan Muhammadiyah Pamekasan. From this mentoring program Panti, Asuhan Muhammadiyah Pamekasan has been able to make flip-flops branding by doing screen printing on the sandals produced so that they can market their products to shops around the orphanage, the results of which are used to support the independence of the orphanage.(Branding menjadi hal yang sangat urgen dalam sebuah usaha karena melalui brandinglah komoditas kita dikenal oleh konsumen.

National identity is interesting to be discussed, considering the loss of national boundaries since technological advances increasingly affect daily life. National identity is essential to be implemented from an early age, primarily through the role of education. The focus of this study is to reveal the Principal's strategy for strengthening national identities. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach through a survey of 50 elementary school principals spread over 18 subdistricts in the Sidoarjo Regency. Two things can be concluded from this study. First, national identity is essential for the young generation of mid-globalization. This study shows that every respondent realizes the importance of principal secondary schools developing straightforward policy programs about internalizing national identity. Those policy programs must integrate extracurricular activities, extracurricular activities, building school culture, and various participation activities. Second, most of the respondents agree that their schools have no clear policy as their guidance in internalizing national identity values in learning. Several teachers have integrated national identity values into learning through lesson plans or learning activities. This study recommends developing an applicable policy model to strengthen the national identity of the young generation.
