Abstract

Basic education in disadvantaged areas in Indonesia faces various challenges that hinder its development and quality. This study aims to identify the main issues in the management of education in primary schools (SD) in disadvantaged areas and provide recommendations for improvement. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research examines four key factors influencing the quality of education: the limitations of infrastructure and facilities, the quality of educators, access to learning materials, and community participation. The findings indicate that limited physical facilities, including inadequate school buildings, poor sanitation facilities, and limited access to technology, are significant obstacles to the learning process. In addition, the low quality of teachers, who often do not meet the required educational qualifications, and the lack of motivation and professional development for teachers, exacerbates the problem of educational quality. The lack of access to adequate learning materials and the limited community involvement in education management are also contributing factors. This study recommends improving educational facilities, providing teacher training, and enhancing community participation in education to create more inclusive and quality education in disadvantaged areas.

Abstract

Roxy Chem is a global material science company based in the United States with a diverse product portfolio in the coating market. The global paint market is projected to grow, and Southeast Asia is identified as a key region for growth due to rapid industrialization and urbanization, with an estimated CAGR around 5-7%. The decorative paint market holds the largest share in the global coating market. Aligning with its sustainability goals, Roxy Chem focuses on the decorative paint market, and Southeast Asia is considered as an important region for Roxy Chem’s strategy to increase its market shares. In Southeast Asia, Roxy Chem encounters several challenges and issues in expanding its market shares. Primarily, due to the lack of stringent air pollution regulations, aggressive competition and long lead times for product delivery. With the pressure from the CEO and a top-down strategy to grow the market shares, it is necessary to define a comprehensive participation strategy that will enable the company to increase the market share from 5% to 30% by the year of 2030. Formulating an effective strategy to increase market share is crucial for enhancing the success rate following data collection through in-depth interviews for key end users and distributors across Southeast Asia. Initially, understanding internal and external factors that affect decorative paint market in SEA is necessary to identify the opportunities and challenges to grow the market. Once the factors are understood, Roxy Chem can develop their strategy utilizing STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) framework and the marketing mix 4Ps. Finally, based on the strategies developed, Roxy Chem can outline an implementation plan and conduct opportunity review using the Real, Win, Worth (RWW) framework to surpass the competitors in the market. By executing the participation strategy, Roxy Chem can achieve its growth objectives and improve its profitability in the long run.

Abstract

This research investigates the strategic positioning of PT Anindya Wiraputra Konsult (Anindya), a private surveying firm, within Indonesia's iron and steel Verification of the Implementation of Import Techniques (VPTI) market. Despite substantial import volumes and mandatory VPTI, Anindya captured only a 20.28% market share in 2019, lagging behind the dominant state-owned enterprise, KSO SCISI. This study critically evaluates Anindya's brand perception against its main competitor, identifies key factors driving client selection of VPTI providers, and assesses the market impact of Anindya’s strategic initiatives focused on expertise, agility, technology, and partnerships. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study combines an internal analysis of Anindya, leveraging company documents and management insights through the Resource-Based View, with a comprehensive external analysis encompassing PESTEL, a market overview, and a consolidated SWOT analysis. The empirical foundation is a market survey of 50 client companies (importers, manufacturers, traders) in the Indonesian iron and steel sector. This survey yielded quantitative and qualitative data on comparative brand perceptions, decision-making hierarchies, and the perceived effectiveness of Anindya's strategic emphases. Analytical frameworks include Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning (STP), B2B decision-making theories, and brand trust concepts, informing a robust analysis.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness and impact of RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification on sustainability practices in the palm oil industry, focusing on PT XYZ as a case study. As a downstream company utilizing the RSPO Supply Chain Certification with the Mass Balance model, PT XYZ sources Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) and Certified Sustainable Palm Kernel Oil (CSPKO) from growers, aiming to align its business operations with global sustainability standards. The research analyzes the extent to which RSPO certification has promoted sustainable practices, contributed to environmental protection, and supported business growth within the context of Indonesia’s palm oil sector. The findings indicate that RSPO certification has enabled PT XYZ to enhance supply chain transparency, access premium international markets, and support the broader adoption of sustainable palm oil. Industry wide evidence shows RSPO certified supply chains contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, improved peatland conservation, and lower fire risk. However, challenges remain regarding full traceability and the inclusion of smallholders. The study concludes that while RSPO certification is an effective mechanism for advancing sustainability in the palm oil industry, continuous improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and enhanced transparency are essential for maximizing its impact.

Abstract

PT Victory Terminal Merak, a subsidiary of a global storage tank provider headquartered in the Netherlands, has played an important role in supporting Indonesia’s trade and energy infrastructure through its terminal operations in Merak region. For the past 5 years, the company has been facing challenges caused by the global pandemic (COVID-19) and the subsequent global economic downturn triggered by geopolitical tensions and inflations. These external factors have immensely affected operational efficiency, customer retention, and revenue performance. Despite positive growth projections in the Asia Pacific oil and gas storage market, PT Victory Terminal Merak has not been able to fully leverage these opportunities due to outdated commercial strategies and a centralized decision-making structure from the regional office in Singapore. This thesis explores the underlying factors contributing to the terminal’s declining competitiveness, focusing on its sales, and marketing approach, which has not been pacing with evolving customer expectations and local market dynamics. Drawing on a combination of qualitative insights and quantitative findings, this research identifies key internal inefficiencies and external market pressures while introducing a revised commercial direction tailored to the Indonesian context, emphasizing customer-centric practices, greater operational agility, and a cultural shift toward continuous improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and price perception on revisit intention, with trust as a mediating variable, on health check-up (MCU) patients at Primaya Betang Pambelum Hospital, Palangkaraya. This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the factors that influence patient loyalty in health services. The study used a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to patients who had used MCU services. The variables studied included service quality, price perception, trust, and revisit intention. The results showed that service quality had a significant positive effect on trust (β = 0.550; p = 0.000) and revisit intention (β = 0.313; p = 0.002). Likewise, price perception had a positive effect on trust (β = 0.357; p = 0.000) and revisit intention (β = 0.240; p = 0.003). Trust itself has been proven to have a significant effect on revisit intention (β = 0.334; p = 0.010). In addition, trust significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and price perception on revisit intention. In conclusion, service quality and price perception affect patient revisit intention both directly and indirectly through trust. Therefore, improving service quality and price affordability are key strategies to strengthen patient loyalty to hospital health services.

Abstract

This study analyzes the optimal capital structure for PT MMS, a high-precision steel cutting service company using EDM wire technology. From 2019 to 2024, the company operated without long-term debt, reflecting a conservative but potentially underleveraged position. Using a descriptive quantitative approach with embedded mixed methods, data were gathered from financial reports, customer surveys, and internal interviews. The analysis covered financial performance (profitability, liquidity, activity) and organizational environment (PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, SWOT). Capital structure optimization was conducted through WACC simulations, with the cost of equity estimated via CAPM and cost of debt derived synthetically using the Damodaran approach. Results show that the optimal capital structure is 25% debt and 75% equity, achieving the lowest projected WACC of 10.105% in 2025, compared to 11.05% under a 100% equity scenario. A high Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR) of 19.21 further supports the firm’s capacity to adopt debt financing. However, since the firm’s ROC and ROE remain below its capital costs, moderate leverage should only be implemented once project returns improve to ensure value creation.

Abstract

This paper expounds upon the post-nikah transformation of human existence through the lens of Islamic theology, emotional psychology, and ethical responsibility. Anchored in Qur’anic injunctions and Prophetic traditions, the discourse delineates marriage not as a mere social construct but as a metaphysical alliance imbued with divine intentionality and existential recalibration. Marriage, as articulated within the Islamic framework, is portrayed as a covenant that transcends legal formalism and enters the domain of spiritual actualization and moral evolution. The study examines how the advent of conjugal life catalyzes a metamorphosis—from individualistic autonomy to symbiotic stewardship—thus manifesting a higher order of accountability, emotional resilience, and sacred companionship. By drawing upon classical Hadith literature and contemporary relational paradigms, the paper advocates for the sacralization of marital roles and responsibilities as intrinsic to human purpose. Recommendations are offered both to the unmarried—urging a reorientation toward divine trust and simplicity—and to married individuals—encouraging a reframing of domestic life through the optics of mutual mercy, forgiveness, and transcendent growth. Ultimately, the treatise asserts that life after nikah is not a diminution of freedom but a sanctified elevation of the self toward a more meaningful and God-conscious existence.
