Abstract

The involvement of local communities in mangrove protection is given recognition around the globe especially in tropical countries like the Philippines. The study identifies the community-based initiatives in mangrove ecosystem protection of the public organization in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines. With the use of qualitative type of research involving focal group discussion among the respondents, the results reveal that the public organization conducts reforestation, forest protection and control, production of mangrove seedlings, linkage with other organizations and future planning not only to strengthen the mangrove protection but also for ecotourism purpose. Abstract

The intake of nutrients a child obtained through daily consumption of food plays a major role in the child's life. The parameters to measure the progress of usable growth were weight. If the children were measured weight periodically, the picture or pattern was gotten of growth of the child. This study aimed to determine the effect of nutritional counseling on nutrient intake and weight growth of children under five in the village Tombo-tombolo district Bangkala Jeneponto district. Counseling was done 3 times 30 minutes a month. This study was a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples are 33 children, that was children aged 6 - 24 months were chosen purposively. The data of nutrient intake was obtained through the method of an interview using the 24-hour recall method for 2 days, body weight data obtained by weight measurement by comparing growth patterns in KMS. The data were analyzed using the McNemar test using SPSS program. Mc Nemar test results were indicated that there was influenced nutrition counseling on energy intake, p-value = 0.03. There was no effect of nutritional counseling on protein intake, p-value = 0.25. There was the influence of nutrition counseling to fat intake, value p = 0.03. There was an influence of nutrition counseling to growth weight of children under five, value p = 0.01. Keywords: Counseling nutrition, Energy, Protein, Fat, Weight

Abstract

The aim to be achieved in this study is to know and analyze the influence of abilities , work-life balance , job satisfaction simultaneously and significantly on employee performance at BMT Permata Jatim. The population in this study were female employees who worked at the BMT Permata Jatim Office who had worked for more than two years and those who are married ,amounting to 30 people. The test used in this study is a multiple linear regression test. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion carried out in this study, the researcher draws the following conclusions: the ability to influence the performance of employees at BMT Permata Jatim. W life balance has an effect on employee performance at BMT Permata Jatim. The extent of work affects the performance of employees at BMT Permata Jatim. Based on the results of the testing of simultaneous significance the results showed that the ability, work life balance , and job satisfaction had an effect on the performance of employees at BMT Permata-Jatim. Abstract

The World Health Organization recommend setting a minimum pregnancy distance of 24 months from previous deliveries in order to reduce the risk of maternal and child mortality and illness. The postpartum period is one of the opportunities for a mother to understand and use effective contraception. The contraceptive needs of a postpartum mother will be fulfilled properly through the provision of counseling using a variety of methods, overcoming cost barriers and providing permanent and long-term contraceptive methods at various health facilities. So that every postpartum mother will get a contraceptive method according to their needs and choices. This research used cross-sectional design. Population was all mother after childbirth in the work area of Public Health Center “Socah”, Bangkalan in June-August 2017. Sample size was 48, selected by accidental sampling. The independent variable were sociodemography (education and culture), meanwhile the dependent variable was selecting postpartum contraception methods. The data used primary data using a questionnaire on the postpartum. Prior to grab data respondents had given counseling on a variety of contraceptive methods, then follow to choose one of the contraceptives currently labor. Sociodemography questionnaire used in the study was a questionnaire that has been proven validity and reliability. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a significant influence in the selection of contraceptive methods based on sociodemography, they are education and culture. Need to provide information for each prospective acceptor by using decision-making instruments so that all prospective acceptors can choose contraceptives that are understood and in accordance with their health conditions. Abstract

Aging among elders creates various problems, including health issues. Fulfilling spiritual wellbeing is important in both sickness and healthy conditions. Continual spiritual distress influence health status of elders including decrease on eating, sleeping disorder, and increase on blood pressure. This study aims to investigate Islamic spiritual wellbeing among elder in Posyandu around Surabaya. It specifically identifies Islamic spiritual wellbeing based on repentance, patience, submission, and contentment. It is a descriptive study recruiting 45 elders population and purposively selected 43 among them as samples. The study reveals that 90.70% of the elders experience a high quality of spiritual wellbeing. Repentance reaches 88.37%, contentment (86.05%), submission (66.77%) and patience (67.44%). This study recommends that elders need to maintain and increase their spiritual wellbeing. Keywords: Islamic, Spiritual Wellbeing, Elders
