Abstract

Background: Mathematics is vital in the modern education of students nowadays. Objectives: the study was conducted to determine the students’ performance level in their Mathematics Foundation Courses, Mathematics Major Courses and Practice teaching and to find out if there exist a relationship between the performance outcomes. Methods: The quantitative descriptive-correlational method was used in the study where documentary analysis was more appropriate in gathering data which was taken from the grade sheets of the final grades of the students. The population of the study involved 51 fourth year students who were taking BSED major in Mathematics in the academic year 2016-2017. Results: The study revealed the students’ performance on their Mathematics foundation and Major Courses was on the very good level; and Practice teaching was on the superior level. It also revealed that there was significantly moderate correlation between Mathematics Foundation Courses and Mathematics Major Courses; and Mathematics Major Courses and Practice teaching while Mathematics Foundation Courses and Practice teaching were not significantly correlated. It is reccommended for improvement or re-visit in re-designing or updating the instructional course guide on Statistics II and Integral Calculus for the students to have much higher level of learning that would resulted in an excellent level of performance. Abstract

Corruption that still occurs a lot in Indonesia from year to year, even though it is shown in the perception index that has increased from year to year for the better, is still in a harmful situation for the country. At this time can observe, see and feel that law enforcement is in a position that is can not be trusted. The public questioned the performance of law enforcement officials in eradicating corruption, the spread of judicial mafia, violations of the law in assessing the APBN and APBD among bureaucracy. In 2018 the public was dumbfounded by the mass corruption committed by 41 members of the Malang City DPRD (Regional People's Representative Assembly) during 2018. Malang City is considered the ‘general champion' in the corruption category in the number of suspects. 6 of them have been tried at the Corruption Court at the Surabaya District Court and have been decided by the Panel of Judges as in Decision Number 119/Pid.Sus.TPK/2018/PN.Sby with different sentences. How is the application of the principle of equality before the law against perpetrators of Corruption in the jurisdiction of the corruption court at the Surabaya District Court against the Decision Number 119/Pid.Sus.TPK/2018/PN.Sby? The research method used is the normative legal research method. The results of the research show that the judicial process in handling corruption crimes is in accordance with the rules regarding the types of punishment in the Corruption Crime Court and meets the principle of equality before the law. Abstract

Muhammad Ali al Shabuni had produced many papers in these two scientific fields, including Rawai al Bayan, a book that combines between jurisprudence and interpretation. Not all results of Al Shabuni’s tarjih in the book of Rawai al Bayan can be used as hujjah (evidence and legal handle), because there are still some Tarjih processes that did not correspond to the stages must be passed. The majority of Tarjih results that he had attempted can be used as hujjah because it has fulfilled the stages of Tarjih implementation in question. Regardless of the problem, it is worth acknowledging that the book of Rawai al Bayan by Al Shabuni has enlightened in the interpretation of Ahkam verses, because it is more structured and objective to do Tarjih, when compared to many books of interpretation of Ahkam verses before. Abstract

The intake of nutrients a child obtained through daily consumption of food plays a major role in the child's life. The parameters to measure the progress of usable growth were weight. If the children were measured weight periodically, the picture or pattern was gotten of growth of the child. This study aimed to determine the effect of nutritional counseling on nutrient intake and weight growth of children under five in the village Tombo-tombolo district Bangkala Jeneponto district. Counseling was done 3 times 30 minutes a month. This study was a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples are 33 children, that was children aged 6 - 24 months were chosen purposively. The data of nutrient intake was obtained through the method of an interview using the 24-hour recall method for 2 days, body weight data obtained by weight measurement by comparing growth patterns in KMS. The data were analyzed using the McNemar test using SPSS program. Mc Nemar test results were indicated that there was influenced nutrition counseling on energy intake, p-value = 0.03. There was no effect of nutritional counseling on protein intake, p-value = 0.25. There was the influence of nutrition counseling to fat intake, value p = 0.03. Abstract

EDITORIAL Apart from being a journal that can publish scientific articles from all disciplines of science and technology, Aloha International Journal of Multidisciplinary Advancement (AIJMU) also opens opportunities for authors to publish scientific papers in various forms, both research and non-research articles; what is important is scientific and beneficial to the scientific community. One segment of the scientific community that is in dire need of important information from journals is diploma and undergraduate students. They really need basic level sciences, which can help them to complete their studies. Therefore, AIJMU invited lecturers and researchers to publish articles in tutorial form. The tutorial material is expected to be a new technique or procedure which is a scientific finding that needs to be introduced to the scientific community immediately, but it is also possible to publish other types of tutorials that are considered useful for the scientific community. As an article that is a practical guide, of course, it is likely that the size of the article is relatively long, so especially for tutorial articles, the number of words allowed is not limited, but it is hoped that the author uses a concise and simple presentation style. It is hoped that the tutorial articles published in this journal can really help practitioners, academics and students, who in turn can contribute to the development of science and technology in all disciplines of science and technology.

Abstract

This study describes for the first time the quality of intertidal sediments and biodiversity of macrobenthic invertebrates of Carigara Bay Eastern Visayas, Philippines. The objectives of the study were to describe and assess diversity of macrobenthic invertebrates of exposed sandy muddy beaches of the area. Macrobenthic community was collected using 0.5 m2 quadrat laid parallel with the transect line across intertidal zone in three identified station. The study showed that macrobenthic invertebrates was dominated by Mollusca 51.41-(Paphia amabilis, Tellina radiata, Pteria levanti, Nerita planopira, Scapharca sp, Modiolus metcalfe). Crustacea 14.88 (shrimps, lobster, crabs). Porifera 13.22(sponges). Cnidaria 9.09 Urticina columbiana. Annelida 8.26 (polychaetes). Echinodermata 4.13 (sea stars). Sediments structure dominated by very fine (silty, clay) which indicates normal (Kolmogorov-Smirnov). H-test was rejected from three stations computed value is greater than tabulated value. 32.5146 > 5.99, 25.99>5.99, 28.77>5.99. pH average value is 6.51 which in normal range. Organic matter average 0.16 inadequate value. Phosphorus ave. 3.1 inadequate value. Exchangeable potassium 1.04 > adequate value is 0.25 (table 5). Keywords: Intertidal, Macrobenthic, Biodiversity
