Aloe vera drink is one of the processed drinks made from the aloe vera leaves, washed until the mucus is reduced and boiled with water. Good drinking water should not contain pathogenic bacteria or organisms that can endanger human health. Coliform is one of the bacteria that can cause disease in humans and is used as an indicator of the presence of pathogenic bacteria. This study aimed to find out the most probable number (MPN) Coliform bacterial in aloe vera drinks which has sold at the location of the sale on Budi Utomo Street, Pontianak City. Sampling used the random sampling method. The MPN test results obtained the lowest MPN/mL index value of 0.091/mL in the samples purchased at the minimarket, while the seven samples obtained at the sales location showed the highest MPN/mL index value of> 24.00/mL. It showed that the eight samples reached over the normal limits listed in SNI 01-3839-1995 based on the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health No. 907 / MENKES / SK / VII / 2002 concerning the requirements and supervision of the quality of drinking water which is not more than 0/100 ml.

Long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) is one of the primates that can coexist with humans, but the use of land into human settlements can lead to reduced habitat for long-tailed monkeys and cause monkeys to disturb humans. This study was conducted to determine the disturbances of long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis)in Tumuk Manggis and Tanjung Mekar Villages, Sambas District, West Borneo. This study used  in-depth interviews method to collection data of disturbance. Data collected were analyzed quantitative descriptively. The results showed that the disturbances carried out by long-tailed macaque when entering the residential area are to steal fruit or food at the people’s plantations or the backyard of people’s homes. The forest in the study area does not provide abundant feed and the land that is converted into a building allows long-tailed monkeys to enter residential areas.

Bingke berendam cake is one of the traditional foods of Pontianak which is made from rice flour, eggs, sugar and coconut milk. Materials that are used such as sugar, milk and eggs are ingredients that are easily damaged and polluted by microbes. This study aimed to to find out the Most Probable Number (MPN) of coliform bacteria in bingke cakes. Taking bingke cake samples was done at five bingke cake shops in Pontianak city. Isolation of Coliform bacteria used the MPN method, with two stages, namely the estimator test tand the assertive test. Based on the results of this study, the five samples had MPN values ranging from 23 MPN/g to> 100 MPN/g. All samples had MPN values that exceed the threshold so that they did not meet the requirements for PERKA BPOM No. 16 of 2016, which is a 11 MPN/g.

The potential for freshwater aquaculture in West Kalimantan is still high, including one of them is the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal growth and best survival rate by a combination of Fish, Earthworm Pheretima sp. and Brown seaweed Sargassum spp flour. The method used is Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and five replications. The result showed that treatments with > 60% plant raw materials shows the best resulting not only growth but also survival rate. Feed with a combination of these raw materials showed an allometric positive growth pattern.

Peniti Mangrove Forest is one of the forests in West Kalimantan that has high forest productivity, thus supporting the presence of nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Nitrogen fixing bacteria is one of the nitrogen-fixing microorganisms that can bind the free nitrogen needed for the nitrogen cycle process. This study aimed to determine the types of nitrogen-fixing bacteria that can be found in the soil of Peniti mangrove forest, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. Taking soil samples used a purposive sampling method. Bacterial isolation used dilution techniques and pour plate method on the Nitrogen Free Bromthymol Blue (NFB) media. The nitrogen fixing was obtained by 3 isolates of nitrogen fixing bacteria. After identification, 3 genera were obtained, namely members of the genera Azotobacter, Azospirillum, and Pseudomonas.

Dragonfly is one of the predatory insect that can be used as an environmental bio-indicator. Mandor Nature Reserve forest area, which has 3.080 Ha, had changed due to illegal logging and illegal gold mining (PETI) giving a sustainable impact on its flora and fauna. This research aim was to determine the species of dragonfly found in the Mandor Nature Reserve area. The sampling was conducted in one month with the Purposive Random Sampling method. Adult species were collected fortnightly by using sweep nets. There were 182 individuals belonged to 2 suborders, 3 families, 11 genera, and 12 species of dragonflies found in Mandor Nature Reserve area. Two suborders are Zygoptera and Anisoptera, the three families are Coenagrionidae, Gomphidae and Liebellulidae. The most common species found of dragonflies is Cerinorubellum ceriagrion (33 individuals or 18%) and Nannophya pygmaea (29 individuals or 16%), Orthetrum sabina (23 individuals or 13%) and the least common dragonfly is Periagrion microcephallum (4 individuals or 2.16%).

As the endemic fish of Danau Sentarum National Park, peam fish or Leptobarbus melanopterus had environmental problem such as overfishing due which threaten either juvenile or adult fish. These conditions were feared will led L. melanopterus population decrease in future if there is no sustainable management such as aquaculture. This research aims to identify the natural foods of L. melanopterus. Sixty four samples of L. melanopterus were collected through purposive sampling method. The results of gut analysis were found 17 genera of phytoplankton, 4 genera of zooplankton, 1 plant, and 1 Insecta. Zygnematophyceae had the most various genera which consisted of 7 genera while Ulvophyceae and Xanthophyceae only had 1 genera each of them. The natural food of L. melanopterus can be used as preliminary data for the application of aquaculture in the future.

Terebellobranchia sp. is a member of the Terebellidae family, which is known to have a high level of morphological variation. The aims of research was to know morphometric variations and the relationship of body size and uncini of Terebellobranchia sp. in Lemukutan Island. The measurements body and uncini were carried out on complete specimens with digital caliper, while uncini measuring under a microscope with eyepiece micrometer. Data analysis with t test in 64 individuals. The Terebellobranchia sp. found in station 2 had a significantly different size with Terebellobranchia sp. in other stations. The body length of Terebellobranchia sp. shows a strong correlation with the width, number of segments and body weight, meanwhile the width of the segment strongly correlated with size of uncini.

Actinomycetes bacteria can grow well in soil media with acidic pH conditions such as peat soil. This study aims to determine the genus of Actinomycetes bacteria from peat soil. Sampling was done in Tajok Kayong Village, Ketapang Regency. Isolation was carried out using Pour Plate Method using specific media, namely SCA (Strach Casein Agar) media, while the activity detection of Actinomycetes bacteria was carried out on Eschericia coli pathogenic bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus using the streak-cross Method. Identification and  characterization done it macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical. The results obtained 7 isolates of Actinomycetes bacteria from peat soil which is the genus Streptomyces.

Overfishing has been being the major problem for Leptobarbus melanopterus population in Danau Sentarum National Park. This activity was feared could affect the declining of L. melanopterus population in the future. This research aims to determine growth pattern of L. melanopterus through length-weight relationship and relative weight analysis. The total of 64 fishes were collected which consisted of 32 males and 32 females. The range of male total length was 146-248 mm with weight was 40-170 gram, whereas total length female was ranging 141-299 mm with weight was 40-350 gram. Based on the regression analysis of length-weight data, the b value of male and female were estimated 2,46 and 2,81 respectively. Moreover, the b value of all samples without distinguishing sex type was 2,69 with relative weight was 101,33. The results of this research confirms that either females or males has negative allometric growth pattern.
