Abstract

Isolasi senyawa antimakan dari 1,5 kg kulit batang mundu (Garcinia dulcis (Roxb.) Kurz) menghasilkan senyawa golongan santon (50 mg) berupa kristal berwarna kuning dengan titik leleh 208210oC dan uji fitokimia menunjukkan positif polifenol. Spektrum UV isolat menunjukkan adanya gugus kromofor seperti gugus C=O, C=C aromatik, dan OH. Spektrum IR isolat menunjukkan adanya gugus fungsi seperti OH, C=O, C-O-C, C=C aromatik, dan C-H aromatik.Uji aktivitas antimakan terhadap Epilachna varivestis menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat batang mundu pada konsentrasi 0,5% tidak menunjukkan aktivitas antimakan. Sementara pada konsentrasi 2% menunjukkan rata-rata ratio antimakan 50,78 4,87 terhadap placebo. Aktivitas antimakan ini disebabkan oleh aktivitas senyawa yang terdapat dapat fraksi etil asetat yaitu golongan senyawa polifenol dan flavonoid. Aktivitas antimakan isolat (positif polifenol) kulit batang mundu terhadap Epilachna varivestis pada konsentrasi 0,5 % menunjukkan rata-rata ratio antimakan terhadap placebo sebesar 35,45 4,51 Sementara pada konsentrasi 2% menunjukkan rata-rata ratio antimakan 91,87 4,56 terhadap placebo.

Abstract

Ants as insects occupy various habitats and ecological niches. Universitas Tanjungpura is an area with variable vegetation physiognomies that has the potential to have a lot of ant microhabitat. This study aims to determine the most effective method for collecting arboreal ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) found in the campus area of Universitas Tanjungpura. The study was conducted from August 2018 to February 2019 at ten locations  based on their environmental condition. Ants were collected in three different methods: hand collecting, bait traps, and yellow pan traps. There were 39 species of Formicidae collectedfromall locations. These results were obtained by hand collecting (32 species), bait traps (32 species), and yellow pan traps (4 species). Hand collecting and bait traps are the most effective method for collecting arboreal ants in Universitas Tanjungpura.

Abstract

Quality degradation, modification, and habitat loss are significant threats to bird species. The natural habitat of birds has been modified into residential land and facilities to meet the needs of human life as happened at Tanjungpura University. This study aims to determine of birds species at Tanjungpura University. Observations were carried out from January to March 2019. The method used in collecting the data from bird was “Encounter rates” which was conducted in the morning starting at 6 – 9 am and at 3 - 6 pm. The data obtained were analyzed with the formula of simple abundance scale and frequency of attendance. The birds found at Universitas Tanjungpura are 28 species classified into 23 genera, 17 families, and seven orders. Birds found to have an abundance order scale are classified into abundant, general, frequent and, unusual categories. Birds included in the abundant category are Collocalia fuciphaga and Passer montanus. The types of bird foods at Tanjungpura University consist of frugivore, insectivore, granivore, herbivore, carnivore, piscivore, omnivore, molluscivore, and nectarivore. The value of attendance frequency have range between 10-100%. The bird species with highest frequency of attendance’s value is Passer montanus, Pycnonotus aurigaster, Pycnonotus goiavier, Collocalia fuciphaga, and Anthreptes malacensis.

Abstract

Metarhizium anisopliae is one of the entomopathogenic fungi that can be used to control house fly, Musca domestica. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of fungus Metarhizium anisopliae in killing house flies. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatment concentration of Metarhizium anisopliae fungal suspension concentration of 1x106 conidia/mL, 3x106 conidia/mL, 5x106 conidia/mL, 7x106 conidia/mL, 9x106 conidia/mL with each repetition three times. The fungal pathogenicity was determined by the lethal time of 50% flies (LT50) for each concentration using Probit analysis. The result of this study showed that the time required to killing 50% of flies in consecutive consentrations was 7 days with concentrations ranging from 3x106 conidia/mL until 5x106 conidia/mL. In conclusion, the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae is effectively deadly pest house flies Musca domestica.

Abstract

Dragonfly is one of the predatory insect that can be used as an environmental bio-indicator. Mandor Nature Reserve forest area, which has 3.080 Ha, had changed due to illegal logging and illegal gold mining (PETI) giving a sustainable impact on its flora and fauna. This research aim was to determine the species of dragonfly found in the Mandor Nature Reserve area. The sampling was conducted in one month with the Purposive Random Sampling method. Adult species were collected fortnightly by using sweep nets. There were 182 individuals belonged to 2 suborders, 3 families, 11 genera, and 12 species of dragonflies found in Mandor Nature Reserve area. Two suborders are Zygoptera and Anisoptera, the three families are Coenagrionidae, Gomphidae and Liebellulidae. The most common species found of dragonflies is Cerinorubellum ceriagrion (33 individuals or 18%) and Nannophya pygmaea (29 individuals or 16%), Orthetrum sabina (23 individuals or 13%) and  the least common dragonfly is Periagrion microcephallum (4 individuals or 2.16%).

Abstract

Insect is a dominant group of animals on earth with the most common number of species and individuals compared to other animal groups. Research about insect diversity in the forest area of IUPHHK-HTI PT. Muara Sungai Landak in swamp peat forest should be done to know its role. The research was aimed to determine the species of insects and to know the effect of environmental factors to insects in the area of PT. Muara Sungai Landak. Insects collected from five different age groups of plants with trapping methods using pit fall trap, yellow pan trap, and light trap. Insects found in the area of PT. Muara Sungai Landak counted as many as to 282 individuals consisting of 18 species, 15 families, and 6 orders. The most widely found number of individuals was the species of Condylostylus longicornis. The highest diversity value was found in the two-year plant age group with a diversity value of H' = 1,69654, while the lowest diversity value was found in the three-year plant age group with the value H ' = 1,20751

Abstract

Musca domestica L. atau lalat rumah dianggap sebagai serangga pengganggu di bidang kesehatan dan merupakan vektor mekanis beberapa penyakit pada manusia dan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivitas cendawan Metarhizium anisopliae dalam membunuh imago Musca domestica. Lalat rumah yang digunakan adalah populasi lokal dari tempat pembuangan sampah di kota Pontianak. Metode penelitian dirancang mengunakan rancangan acak lengkap terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan satu kontrol dengan tiga ulangan yaitu: (P0) Kontrol;  (P1) 1,2x  konidia/ml;(P2) 3,6x106 konidia/ml;(P3) 6x106 konidia/ml;(P4) 8,4x106 konidia/ml; dan (P5) 10,8x106 konidia/ml diberikan dalam bentuk suspensi sebanyak 1 ml. Jumlah lalat yang menunjukkan paralisis dicatat dari satu hari setelah perlakuan hingga hari ke 14. Data kematian imago lalat dianalisa secara probit dengan bantuan program Excel untuk menentukan waktu kematian 50% (LT50) dari masing-masing konsentrasi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suspensi M. anisopliae dengan kerapatan konidia 8x106 konidia/ml lebih efektif dalam membunuh imago M. domestica dalam waktu 5,88 hari dengan kisaran waktu mortalitas lalat uji sebesar 95%, yaitu 4,70–7,36 hari. Perlakuan dengan suspensi kerapatan konidia terendah mampu membunuh imago M. domestica L. sebanyak 50% atau lebih.

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan faktor kebutuhan utama manusia untuk dapat melangsungkan aktivitas hidup dengan sempurna. Kesehatan masyarakat terganggu bila terdapat kuman yang menginfeksi tubuh. Corona  atau Severe  Acute  Respiratory  Syndrome Coronavirus  2 (SARS- CoV-2) adalah virus yang menyerang  sistem pernapasan. Penyakit ini dapat menyebabkan infeksi paru-paru yang berat, hingga kematian. Data bulan April 2020, Kecamatan Pontianak Timur dilaporkan mempunyai angka kasus positif Covid-19 paling tinggi diantara kecamatan lain di Kota Pontianak.  Kelurahan di Kecamatan Pontianak Timur yang dilaporkan mempunyai angka kasus Covid-19 antara lain Kelurahan Tanjung Hulu, Kelurahan Parit Mayor, Kelurahan Banjar Serasan, Kelurahan Tambelan Sampit, Kelurahan Dalam Bugis dan Kelurahan Tanjung Hilir. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat tentang kesehatan dan cara mengatasi permasalahan kesehatan sangat perlu dilakukan  suatu bentuk sosialisasi dengan cara memberikan edukasi tentang permasalahan kesehatan dan cara mengatasinya. Cara yang sangat memungkinkan pada masa pandemi ini adalah dengan tidak langsung bertatap muka namun dapat dilakukan secara tidak langsung yaitu melalui leaflet dan contoh produk.  Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi kesehatan dalam mencegah Covid-19 kepada masyarakat. Metode yang dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi dan penyuluhan melalui leaflet yaitu cara pembuatan hand sanitizer dan masker serta contoh  produk hand sanitizer dan masker yang diberikan kepada masyarakat. Sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan, sebagian besar masyarakat (90%) di Kecamatan Pontianak Timur belum menerapkan protokol pencegahan Covid-19 yang benar. Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan diperoleh hasil berupa peningkatan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat (100%, n=100 orang) mengenai upaya pencegahan Covid-19 serta cara pembuatan masker dan hand sanitizer.

Abstract

The catfish culture development program organized by the National Peatland Restoration Agency in 2017 in the Village of Pelita Jaya Indonesia, has a positive impact on the economy. However, there are several obstacles related to the problem of providing catfish juveniles and formulated feed. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) activity aims to increase the income of the “Senang Bersama” Fish Farmers Group through training in catfish spawning techniques and silkworm cultivation. The activity was held in the Village of Pelita Jaya, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, from May to September 2019. The methods used were lectures, demonstrations, training which included hormonal-induced catfish spawning techniques using ovaprim and sludge worm cultivation training. Monitoring and evaluation of activities are carried out starting from the first training until the activity ends. Activity evaluation was carried out using a retrospective (before-after) method using a questionnaire. The training results showed that the activity received a good response from PKM partners with the active participation of the partners and increasing the knowledge and skills of partners in the application of catfish spawning techniques and silkworm cultivation. The PKM partners could practice catfish spawning techniques and silkworm cultivation and apply them to fulfill the needs of group members in terms of catfish juveniles and feed. The impact of the activity as a whole is to develop the independence of the “Senang Bersama” Fish Farmers Group in providing juveniles and natural feed for catfish.

Abstract

Hewan ternak (sapi potong, babi, dan kambing) merupakan komoditas penting di bidang peternakan. Peternakan hewan di Kota Pontianak sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan karena tingkat konsumsi masyarakat yang tinggi. Walaupun sistem peternakan hewan sudah berkembang, infeksi cacing parasit masih sering ditemukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui prevalensi kecacingan hewan ternak (sapi potong, babi, dan kambing) di Kota Pontianak. Sampel feses hewan ternak diambil dari peternakan hewan yang ada di Kota Pontianak secara random, kemudian dianalisis dengan metode flotasi dan sedimentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian sampel feses yang diambil dari peternakan hewan terinfeksi cacing parasit. Sepuluh spesies cacing parasitik ditemukan pada ternak yaitu: Ancylostoma sp., Ascaris sp., Fasciola sp., Haemonchus sp., Paramphistomum sp., Toxocara sp., Trichuris sp., Strongyloides sp., Strongylus sp., dan Trichostrongylus sp. Ascaris sp. dan  Trichostrongylus sp. ditemukan baik pada sapi potong, kambing, maupun babi. Prevalensi kedua spesies cacing parasitik pada masing-masing hewan ternak tersebut berturut-turut sebagai berikut: 13,64% dan 81,82% pada sapi potong, 38,89% dan 44,44% pada kambing, serta 96,55% dan 96,55% pada babi.
