Abstract

Nanoscale resonant optical antennas are highly regarded for their capacity to enhance electric fields in localized volumes smaller than the diffraction limit. This makes them particularly attractive for coupling with quantum emitters. However, a significant challenge in applications involving spectral shifts is fabricate nanoantennas that provide two distinct resonances—one at the excitation frequency and another at the emission frequency. To address this, we propose a coupled T-shaped nanoantenna design that allows for independent control of the resonances, while sharing a common electromagnetic hot spot within the antenna gap. We present the fabrication of such structures and evaluate their spatial, time-integrated, spectral, and polarization-dependent electromagnetic field characteristics, both experimentally and theoretically. The nanoantennas display two separate resonances, each with distinct spectral and polarization behaviors. These resonance wavelengths can be independently adjusted by changing the geometry of the individual T-shaped antennas.

Abstract

Quantum communication is an emerging communication technology that has developed rapidly in recent years and has attracted widespread attention due to its unique advantages. Sand and dust aerosols are an important component of atmospheric aerosols and have noticeable absorption and scattering effects on optical signals. To investigate the performance variation of optical quantum signals in a dust aerosol environment, this study analyzes the relationship between link attenuation, channel bit error rate, dust aerosol particle concentration, and transmission distance based on the absorption and scattering characteristics of dust particles. Three commonly used quantum noise channels—namely the depolarization channel, amplitude damping channel, and bit-flip channel—are selected to examine how channel capacity and channel fidelity change with particle concentration and propagation distance. Simulation experiments are conducted to verify the theoretical analysis. The results indicate that particle concentration and transmission distance influence optical quantum signals differently in the three channel models. Consequently, the performance of free-space quantum communication is affected by dust aerosols to varying degrees

Abstract

Indeed, in the era of digital transformation, few people will be surprised to say that strategic use of the big data is practically one of the key mechanisms that define the way consumers act and influence the market tendencies. The paper discusses the way businesses collect, review and use consumer information to launch personal appeal, exploit marketing chances and anticipate buying habits. The study finds its ground on the empirical research and industry reports to find the symbiotic relationship between data-driven decision-making and response which is given by the consumers. It proceeds to consider the question of privacy, transparency and informed consent in data collection. These findings signify that along with the big data providing businesses with a nonparallel glimpse of what the marketplace will be like in the future, it also brings about changes in the expectations of the consumers and the conventional paradigm of marketing will have to be revisited. The current article will be of value to academicians, practitioners and policy-makers concerned with the interplay of technology and consumer behaviour, as it represents a study into the current higher level of academic interest in the subject of data ethics.

Abstract

The paper examines how financial transparency influences the extent of trust of philanthropists with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Punjab, Pakistan. NGOs are also involved in solving social problems including poverty reduction, health, and education and their activities depend greatly on the donations of philanthropists. But there have been allegations of mismanagement of finances and poor transparency that have raised doubts among donors. Quantitative method was also used to collect data on 100 philanthropists using structured questionnaires to evaluate their financial transparency perceptions in NGO funds utilization. The findings indicate that there is a strong positive correlation between financial transparency and donor trust because philanthropists are keen on availability of financial reports, independent audits, and disclosure of funds. This paper indicates that NGOs need to emphasize on transparent financial dealings to develop trust among the donors who are willing to offer long-term assistance. The results indicate that the increased transparency of financial reporting can play an important role in improving the trust of philanthropists, which will eventually make NGOs sustainable and credible.

Abstract

Machine learning (ML) is transforming various industries, including project management. However, a significant gap remains in understanding how ML impacts key areas of project management. This lack of clarity may prevent organisations from fully harnessing ML to improve project outcomes, enhance efficiency, and optimise resource allocation. Bridging this gap is crucial to unlocking ML's potential for driving more effective project management practices. This study examines the role of machine learning in project management, with a focus on forecasting, risk management, and resource optimization. It identifies popular algorithms like SVM, ANN, and RF, while also exploring the potential of LSTM and CNN for handling sequential data. The study observes a growing trend towards hybrid models that combine traditional and advanced techniques, although simpler models such as DT and regression remain valued for their reliability. It highlights ML's benefits in boosting project efficiency and addresses challenges related to data requirements and algorithm complexity, offering recommendations for adopting scalable and interpretable models.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) in enhancing user engagement in digital ecosystem. PWAs utilize features of both web and native applications to provide functionality such as offline functionality, push notifications, responsive design, performance optimization, and seamless installation. In this study Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology has been used to analyzed 21 peer-reviewed articles obtained from four reputable databases. Findings reveal that PWAs improve user engagement by reducing load times also support low-connectivity environments, and enabling real-time communication through push notifications. Furthermore, PWAs reduce development costs by using a single codebase across the platforms. However, apart from the benefit provided by PWAs, they still encounter various challenges which include platform-specific limitations (especially on iOS), reduced discoverability compared to native apps, and limited access to advanced device Application Programming Interface (APIs). Despite these drawbacks, PWAs represent a promising direction for businesses seeking to deliver efficient, accessible, and engaging digital experiences. This review contributes valuable insights into the future of PWA adoption and its implications for web development.

Abstract

The article examines modern Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus algorithms as a key mechanism for ensuring the reliability, predictability, and formal robustness of blockchain protocols. The study focuses on identifying the structural properties of classical, linear, asynchronous, and hybrid consensus models and their role in maintaining the functionality of distributed systems under high load, heterogeneous connectivity, and network uncertainty. The methodological framework includes comparative and structural–functional analysis aimed at isolating architectural features that define resilience, validator organization, finality characteristics, and protocol behavior under varying network conditions. The work develops an applied approach to selecting consensus algorithms, based on the systematization of phase structures, communication models, and assumptions about possible fault types. The proposed framework makes it possible to account for both architectural constraints and operational conditions that determine the applicability of protocols in modern blockchain platforms with different degrees of openness and distribution. The practical significance of the study lies in providing a methodological basis for the informed selection of BFT algorithms when designing systems oriented toward high resilience, scalability, and guaranteed data agreement in a Byzantine environment. The article will be useful for distributed systems engineers, blockchain researchers, digital infrastructure specialists, and designers of high-load computational platforms.

Abstract

The reliability of an electrical network depends mainly on service continuity and the quality of data from distribution stations. This data contains quantifiable inaccuracies and measurement errors, which complicates the detection of anomalies using traditional methods. This study proposes the application of fuzzy logic to analyze the energy balance for the years 2019-2023 for the Kasangulu electrical substation. The methodology is based on the fuzzification of electrical quantities (energy delivered to the grid, energy sold, efficiency) and the development of a fuzzy inference system in accordance with the Mamdani method. The results obtained show that fuzzy logic provides a more effective solution to measurement inaccuracy and uncertainty, offering more accurate anomaly detection than conventional deterministic techniques. This approach is an effective decision-making tool for the monitoring and predictive maintenance of the electricity grid in general and Kasangulu in particular.
