Abstract

One technology that is developing rapidly and is part of communication technology is social media. Among various social media currently available, the three most used social media are Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Facebook is the first social media that makes people in the world connected to each other and continues to develop its features so that it is difficult for old users to leave it. YouTube is a social media that allows someone to upload videos that they have for a long time. Instagram itself is popular because of its practical and simple way of using it. The aim of this research was to see how big a role social media plays in attracting tourists to visit Sabang City. This research was quantitative descriptive. The research method used was simple linear regression. The independent variable used was social media with the indicator being social media which is often used as promotional media such as Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, while the interest in visiting tourists to Sabang City was used as the dependent variable. The influence of social media in increasing tourist interest in the city of Sabang will be measured using the t test. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to tourists, both local and foreign. The research results show that the regression equation obtained is Y = 39.832 + 0.716X. The results of the t test show that the t count is 2,883, which means the t count is greater than the t table and shows the influence of social media on tourists' interest in visiting Sabang City. The coefficient of determination produces a figure of 12.7%, which shows that social media has an influence of 12.7% on tourist interest in visiting and the remaining 87.3% is influenced by other factors outside the model.

Abstract

After the conversion of conventional banks to sharia banks, people still think that there are no significant differences in the operational system of sharia banks except just changing the name, changing the term interest to profit sharing and several other small things that are not significant. This research aims to analyze the perceptions of ulama regarding the conversion of conventional banks to sharia banks in Banda Aceh. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data was obtained by interviewing related parties such as ulama and community leaders. The research results show that according to the perception of ulama, the conversion of conventional banks to sharia banks is in accordance with the Islamic banking system because there is a Sharia Supervisory Board, although it still requires improvement. According to them, this conversion is the right thing and indeed should be carried out considering the existence of the Qanun on Sharia Financial Institutions in Aceh.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have driven transformations in payment systems, and the COVID-19 pandemic serves as a catalyst for the financial services industry worldwide to accelerate shifts in payment systems toward cashless payment systems. Ironically, a preliminary study conducted among MSMEs in the food and beverage (F&B) sector in Banda Aceh indicated that utilization of QRIS is considerably low, with only 20% indicating that the intensity of customer transactions through QRIS is rated medium to high and 80% indicating low intensity. This phenomenon drove this study to investigate the impact and challenges associated with utilizing QRIS as an alternative payment system in the F&B industry in Banda Aceh. We investigated this issue employing a descriptive qualitative approach, and data was collected on MSME owners in the designated industry in Banda Aceh by performing observation, interviews, and documentation. Afterwards, the collected data were analyzed using Nvivo 12. According to the findings of this study, adopting QRIS in the payment system increases the ease of transaction, business operational efficiency, and rapid access to transaction data. However, the adoption of QRIS among MSMEs in (F&B) industry in Banda Aceh is relatively low. Some challenges in adopting QRIS have lagged interconnectivity between payment aggregators, disrupting the transaction process and delaying customer transaction payments. During hectic seasons such as weekends, national holidays, and religious holiday, the intensity of these technical obstacles frequently increases. Aside from that, public awareness and acceptance of electronic payment transactions remain low due to city dwellers’ lack of digital financial literacy.
