Abstract

Abstract: Lesson Study is an effort to improve the learning process and outcomes which is carried out collaboratively and continuously by a group of teachers. One aspect of improving the learning process using the Lesson Study-based CAR approach is the aspect of interest in learning. With the increasing interest in learning possessed by students, it will also have an effect on improving cognitive learning outcomes, especially in this research in class IX D on Electricity and Electrical Technology in the Environment at SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan. The approach used in this research is to follow the research flow Plan, Do, See. Conducted in 3 stages for 4 cycles. The plot, which begins with the planning stage (plan), at this stage, activities to analyze the needs and problems faced in learning are carried out. Furthermore, the implementation stage (do) is carried out, in the second stage, there are two main activities: 1) learning activities carried out by one of the model teachers, and 2) observation or observation activities carried out by other members or the Lesson Study community. And in the last stage, the reflection (see) is carried out after the teacher has learned in the classroom. Based on the research results obtained posttest. In the cognitive learning outcomes the average value in cycle I was 71.68, cycle II 76.06, cycle III 90.14, and cycle IV was 91.09. Furthermore, for the results of interest in learning, the average value in cycle I was 61.61, cycle II 61.94, cycle III 60.05, and cycle IV was 61.75. From the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the implementation of lesson study can increase interest and cognitive learning outcomes of class IX D students of SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan on electricity and electrical technology. Keywords:  lesson study, interest, cognitive

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuai jenis-jenis Suku Poaceae di Hutan Penelitian Universitas Borneo Tarakan dan untuk mengembangkan hasil penelitan menjadi buku panduan identifikasi. Penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang diadaptasi sampai pada tahap ke tiga. Hasil penelitian Suku Poaceae telah ditemukan sebanyak 12 Marga yang terdiri dari 15 jenis.  Jenis terbanyak pada marga Erangrotis sebanyak 3 jenis, dan Panicum sebanyak 2 jenis. Sementara, untuk marga yang lainnya hanya ditemukan 1 jenis saja. Hasil penelitian kemudian dikembangkan menjadi buku panduan identifikasi. Hasil validasi ahli materi dan ahli media mendapatkan persentase masing-masing sebesar 86,3% dan 92,9% dengan kriteria valid. Kata Kunci:  Poaceae, Panduan Identifikasi

Abstract

Abstract: This study wants to reveal how far the teacher has developed the lesson plan for biology learning with an inquiry approach and the use of local potentials available in the biology learning process. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Sources of data in this study are lesson plans made by science teachers (Biology) SMP and opinion poll questionnaire studies. The target schools are SMPN 1, SMPN3, SMPN6, MTSN, SMPN 2, SMP Frater Don Bosco. The instruments and data analysis used to obtain the main data in this study were in the form of a lesson plan analysis rubric which was also supported by a teacher opinion survey questionnaire. The results of the study on the application of the inquiry approach, the mean percentage of all aspects of TP, MP and family planning from 134 lesson plans compiled by science (Biology) teachers of SMP Tarakan from 6 schools were found to be 51.7% bearing the title of less. In the aspect of learning objectives (TP) in the IPA (Biology) lesson plan made by Tarakan City Middle School teachers, the percentage was 17.4% with very poor category. In the aspect of the learning method in the Science (Biology) lesson plan made by Tarakan City Middle School teachers, the percentage was 64.2% with the sufficient category. Whereas in the aspect of the aspect of learning activities in the Biology lesson plan made by Tarakan City Middle School teachers, the percentage was 73.4% in the good category. In the aspect of utilizing the potential of schools / locations, it is still limited, only near the school environment. Only a few schools, such as SMPN 1 and SMPN 6, take advantage of local potential outside of school.  Keywords:  Inquiry Approach, Local Potential, Science Teacher, Lesson Plan

Abstract

The goal of this resarch is to identify morphological characters and stele types of terestrial ferns in RPH Barat (Juata Kerikil) Forest. The result of research was analyzed the suitability to biology learning. This research used qualitative approach, and the sampling technique that was used was adaptive sampling. The result showed that the terestrial ferns consist of 12 species. Based on morphometri of frond, Overall, the ferns had many variety in the size. The largest one was Cyathea podophylla, and the smallest one is Trichomanes maximum. Next, Depend on stele type, majority of ferns have Dictyostele, nine of them have this stele type. In addition, the result related to Plant Taxonomy course and Plant Morphology course. Furthermore, the research related in Senior High School Curriculum (Curriculum 2013), especially in Plantae content. Keywords : Morphology, Stele, Terestrial Ferns

Abstract

The research have a goal to identify species of Rubiaceae that is used in Tarakan community. Collecting data used participatory rural appraisal, and was used open-interview to 30 informants. The result showed 8 species of Rubiaceae that is used by Tarakan community.  In general, Rubiaceae was used as a food sources and medicine. Abstract

The learning that is most often found when making observations in schools is learning that still does not involve students to learn actively. Students as a whole have not been actively involved in the learning process and the teacher becomes the centre of information, in this case, achieving the expected learning objectives. One of the efforts to direct students to be actively involved in the learning process is by implementing a scientific-based learning model, namely Problem Based Learning (PBL). In Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning syntax, students are oriented to a problem to be solved in groups by way of discussion. With this problem, students can develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills so that the final results achieved will increase learning outcomes at the cognitive level. This study aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students. Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of the 2013 Curriculum at SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan requires teaching staff to always be active and creative in class processing with the aim that students' cognitive learning outcomes increase in accordance with predetermined minimum grade completeness standards. Based on this, the existence of teachers to manage an optimal and conducive classroom is needed. One of the efforts made by the teacher in improving the ability to manage the class and students' cognitive knowledge is by implementing lesson study activities. The type of research used is lesson study-based action research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The class used as research was VIII-J which was observed by 3-5 observers using 4 cycles. Based on the data analysis and discussion that has been done, the results obtained are: 1) the implementation of lesson study from the plan, do, and see stages has increased from lesson study I to IV with an average of 93% in the very accomplished category; 2) The ability to manage the classroom by the model teacher through the implementation of lesson study obtained an average score of 76.5% in the good category; 3) The development of the ability to manage the classroom by the model teacher through the implementation of lesson study in relation to student learning outcomes has increased. Keywords:  lesson study, manage the class, cognitive knowledge
