Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of duration time fermentation using Lactobacillus plantarum AK 1 on saponin content and chemical quality of trembesi leaves (Sammaneasaman). The fermentation treatments using three treatment duration time by 3, 9, and 15 days with each treatment replicated 4 times. There were 3 x 4 = 12 experimental units were obtained. The data obtained were analyzed using Completely Randomized Design Analysis (One-way ANOVA). The parameters observed aresaponin content, protein, fat, water content, ash, and carbohydrates. The result indicates that using Lactobacillus plantarum AK 1 bacteria for 3, 9 and 15 days duration time of fermentation had no effect on the saponin content and chemical quality of protein, fat, water and carbohydrates in trembesi leaves (Sammaneasaman).

Abstract

This study aims to compare the sensory or organoleptic, hedonic and microbiological qualities of beef sausages coated using edible film made from chicken feet skin and added with kaffir lime leaf extract at 0%, 0.5% and 1%. The variables observed were color, aroma, texture, taste and aftertaste. The research was carried out in July 2023 in the laboratory of the Boyolali Veterinary Public Health Service Center and tested on panelists at Boyolali University. Organoleptic and hedonic tests in this study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 25 replications. This treatment consists of P1 = sausage coated with edible film with the addition of 0% kaffir lime leaf extract, P2 = 0.5% kaffir lime leaf extract, and P3 = addition of 1% kaffir lime leaf extract. The results of the ANOVA sensory test showed that the addition of kaffir lime leaf extract to the edible film used to wrap beef sausages did not have a real effect on changes in color and texture, but did have a real effect on changes in aroma and taste. In the liking test, only the Aftertaste test showed a real effect, while the color test, aroma test, texture test and taste test did not show a real effect. Testing the number of microbes through the Total Plate Count (TPC) test showed that the addition of 0.5% lime leaf extract was able to maintain the quality of beef sausages until the 6th day of room temperature storage.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving corn cobs on the productivity of Simmental beef cattle. The material used in this study were 14 Simmental cattle with an average body weight of 428 ± 16.7 Kg (CV = 3.91%) and an average age - an average of 2 years. The method used was RAL with 2 treatments (P0, P1) with 7 replications. Research parameters are dry matter consumption, crude protein consumption, TDN consumption, daily weight gain, feed conversion, and feed cost per gain. Analysis of research results using the "t test" method with the spss program. The results of the statistical analysis of the research found that the use of corn cobs had a significant effect on dry matter consumption, crude protein and feed cost per gain. The conclusion of this research is that the addition of corn cobs to the ration of simental cattle has a significant effect on the productivity of simental cattle in terms of efficiency and profitability.

Abstract

The male chicken is the result of laying hens that are male, therefore it is called a male. Broilers are usually harvested when they are two or three months old. In terms of structure, roosters are usually smaller than other types of chickens and have a pure white color. Laying hens of the male type are a by-product of the production of breeding and hatching of laying hens. Laying cocks are considered to have the ability to produce meat. The lighting program is one that is very influential in achieving peak production in relation to uniformity of sexual maturity. The purpose of feeding in the grower phase is to encourage or stimulate the chickens to grow faster, not just grow. So that the development of hereditary organs becomes optimal and supports further sustainable growth.

Abstract

Consumption of chicken meat as a popular source of protein, is widely used in Indonesian and foreign cuisine. The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) shows that the average weekly consumption per capita of chicken meat in Indonesia is 0.14 kg. indicating an increase of 7.69% since 2020, and consumption of chicken meat in 2011-2021 with the highest growth rate of 19.76% was recorded in 2014 as the highest increase. According to BPS records, chicken meat production in Indonesia this year will reach 3.42 million tonnes. Chicken meat is a very popular animal food source, and usually comes from broiler or real chicken meat. Lighting is the integration of vision, including visual acuity and color differentiation. This study aims to determine the effect of different lighting colors on the digestive tract pH of bulls, ration consumption, body weight gain and mortality. The aim of the study was to determine the benefits of using light on ration consumption, BBB, mortality and hydrogen potential in the digestive tract of layered male chickens at grower phase / 11-20 days old. This research was conducted from 27 March 2022 to 16 April 2022. Analysis of the pH (potential hydrogen) of the digestive tract was carried out at the Poultry Laboratory, Boyolali University, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. The feed used is Commercial feed brand SA 571 NS Sido Agung Group. The design in this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments, 7 replications. Each replicate consisted of 4 experimental units. The RAL experiment used 168 male chickens aged 11 days. The results showed that the effect of different lighting colors had no significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, ADG, mortality and pH of the digestive tract of male chickens. The conclusion of the research results from statistical data using various variations of lamps has no significant effect on feed consumption, daily body weight gain, mortality and digestive tract pH.Key words : Rooster, Lighting, Ph Gastrointestinal Tract.
