Focus and Scope Jurnal Riset Manajemen dan Bisnis (p-ISSN: 1907-7343; e-ISSN: 2714-7312) adalah jurnal yang dipublikasikan oleh Fakultas Bisnis Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana yang terbit dua kali setahun (Juli dan Desember). Jurnal ini didedikasikan sebagai sarana untuk berbagi dan diseminasi studi-studi terbaru dari para peneliti manajemen dan bisnis. Artikel-artikel empiris yang menyajikan riset yang akurat dan teliti secara metodologis dan temuan yang mencerahkan sangat dinantikan. Abstract

This research examines the effect of internal control mechanism of corporate governance that is board system and board composition on firm performonce. To be specific this research will be qualitatively analized to grasp the application of corporate governance tlteories, which are; agency and stewardship theory that underlie the implementation of corporate governance practices in Indonesian companies. The 198 samples are gathered from Indonesian companies listed in the Jakarta Stock Exchange during 1996 until 2003.Using the multiple linear regression method, board system that is represented by the level of blockholder shows it signtficant effect on firm performance. Wrhile the board size which stand for board composition also shows the similar effect. Furthermore the result of the analysis failed to notice which one of corporate governance theories that underlies the effectiveness of corporate governance practices on firm pedormance in Indonesia.Keywords: board system, board composition, board size, blockholder,pedormance

Abstract

One factor that supports investors' trust on capital market istheir perception to the fiuingness of stock price. The more appropriate and quicker the information reflected by stock price delivered to investors, the more fficient the stock market. fhe information needed from the firm's financial statement if it's tooked from investor needs who would purchase a stock are stock price information, earning per sltare, total asset, earning after tax, net sale, total liabitity, and totat equity which is used to the company financing source. This research aims toexamine the effect of Price Earning Ratio (PER), Return on Assets (RoA), Net Profit Margin (NPM), Debt Equity Ratio (DER) changes to stock price changes either partially or simultaneously. This research proves that Price Earning ratio (PER) and Net Profit Margin (NpM) changes partially influence the change of stock price, whereas those four variables simultaneously influence the change of stock price. Thisresearch hopefully could give benefits to investors, emitens, and other partles as additional evaluating tools in the relation with the process of stock investment decision making when stock prices are fluctuative. This research is hopefully beneficial for emitens in making a wisdom relating to PER, RoA, NPM, and DER and can give additional lorcwledge and information for parties who need reference as well as literqture about financial management.Keywords: closing price, EAT, PER, DER, NPM, ROA

Abstract

This research examines the influence of macro economicvariables changing toward corporate pedormonce changing and macro economic variables. The value of c.orporate condition counted based on averoge industry of corporate pedormlance.This research uses the model of multiile regression with pooleddata. Dependent variable is the corporate performance changing and independent variables are macro economy variables.The result of this researclt shows that macro economic variablesinfluence the changing of manufocture corporate performance at alpha 1%. The most influence variable towards the changing of corporate performonce is a changing on American dollar toward rupiah.Keywords: corporate performance, financial ratio, and macro economic variables

Abstract

It is known that brand has the power to attract consumer to buy a product or some services being represented. It also has the role to help the producers to achieve their sales target. Hence, construct a brand in a vigilant way is essential, prior to the competitive advantage that witl be gafned through it. Recently, there is a phenomenon when firms tend to reconstruct their old brand to o new brand name. In Indonesia, one of them is the case of the brand called National-Panasonic, which have been replaced by a new brand name Panasonic. The changing of theNational-Panasonic can obviously notice by the vanishing of this brand name in the Indonesia electronic market.Based on the cose of Panasonic, this research aim to examine the relationship between brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, brand loyalty, and consumers' intention to buy. Furthermore this research also examines the relationship between brand equity and consumers intention to buy.For about 100 data were collected which comes fro* peoplereside in Surakarta-Central of Java, who have an experience on using the brand. Afterward the data are analyzed using the correlation method. The results show that brand awareness; brand association, perceived quality, brand loyalty, and brand equity are correlated with consumer's intention to buy.Keywords: Brand equity, brand owarness, brand loyalty, consumer's intention to buy

Abstract

This research tries to analyze the fficts of cognitive aspect,affictive aspect and subjective norm on consumer purchasing behavior in the services of Air Transportation Industries in Yog'takarta. Reason Action Theory that is suggested by Ajzen and Fishbein (1980) is used to develop research model. The model is composed of attitudinal, social influence and intention variables to predict iehavior. The theory assertsthat the intention to perform behavior is determined by the individual attitude towards performing the behavior and subjective norm that are held by an individual.To solve the problem, this research uses Structural EquationModel (SEITI) technique to test research hypothesis with 186 samples that have been gathered with purposive random sampling method. In this research, attitude has been measured by cognitive aspect (reliability, empathy, ossurance and responsiveness) and affective aspect (facility, equipment and ambience), and subjective norrn by group of references (family andfriends).The result shows that cognitive and affective aspect has positiveand significant ffict to consumer behavior. The attitude also haspositive and significant ffict to consumer behavior. This result supports Kirk L. Wakefield and J"ffrey G. Blodgett research in Customer Response to Intangible and Tangible Service Factors, 1999. On the contrary, subjective norms aspects have positive fficts on behavior, but it's not significant. Service industries like air transportation in Yogtakarta have to pay more attention to the voriable of responsivenessempathy, reliability and assurance as a one of strategt to draw more consumers.Keywords: Reasoned Action Theory, Structural Equation Motdel.
