Abstract

Pangan merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia termasuk masyarakat yang hidup di wilayah pesisir. Oleh karenanya, ketersediaan dan kemampuan akses terhadap terhadap ragam bahah pangan  menjadi hal yang penting untuk dipenuhi. Budikdamber merupakan metode sederhana, murah dan mudah sebagai alternatif pemenuhan ragam bahan pangan, yang dapat diterapkan pada masyarakat pesisir. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kali ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan kepada masyarakat pesisir desa Rebo, Kabupaten Bangka untuk menerapkan budikdamber (budidaya ikan dalam ember) sebagai upaya ketahanan pangan. Kegiatan pendampingan budikdamber berlangsung pada bulan Agustus 2020, yang diikuti oleh 19 orang perwakilan pemuda karang taruna dan didampingi oleh mahasiswa KKN berjumlah 15 orang. Tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan diantaranya adalah: 1). Persiapan kegiatan; 2).Sosialisasi teori budikdamber; 3). Praktek pembuatan budikdamber lele dan kangkung; 4).Evaluasi kegiatan pendampingan budikdamber melalui sebar kuesioner. Berdasarkan kuesioner diajukan, lebih dari 40% responden, menyatakan cukup setuju bahwa kegiatan budikdamber dikuti dengan motivasi dan semangat tinggi, materi dan praktek dapat dipahami dengan baik dan mudah, keberlanjutan penting dilakukan, pengetahuan dan pengamalaman yang diperoleh dapat dipraktekkan, budikdamber sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat sehingga dapat mengusahakan ketahanan pangan secara mandiri, kegiatan dapat berlangsung dengan baik dari awal sampai akhir, serta metode dan sarana prasana sudah tepat sasaran. Kesimpulannya yaitu kegiatan pendampingan budikdamber berlangsung dengan baik dan dapat dipraktekkan secara mandiri untuk ketahanan pangan masyarakat pesisir desa Rebo. Keberlanjutan program dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat dari berbagai level untuk dapat mencapai ketahanan pangan secara mandiri ASSISTANCE OF "BUDIKDAMBER" AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR FOOD SECURITY FOR THE COASTAL COMMUNITY OF REBO VILLAGE, BANGKA DISTRICT. Food is a basic human need, including people in coastal areas, so the availability and capability to access food substances is an important thing to fulfil. Budikdamber is a simple, cheap and easy method for supplying the food varieties in the coastal communities.  For that reason, The empowerment program aimed to assist the coastal communities of Rebo village, Bangka Regency in introducing budikdamber method (fish cultivation in buckets) as an effort for food security. This program held in August 2020 with 19 participants from the teenager and 15 college student who followed the KKN program. In this empowerment program, there were several activities: 1). Preparation of activities; 2). Socialization of budikdamber theory; 3). The practice of making budikdamber cat fish and water spinach; 4) Evaluation of budikdamber assistance activities through questionnaires. At the end of the program, the average participants (> 40%) quite agreed if they categorized as participants with high motivation and spirit. The knowledge they got can guide in practising budikdamber independently because of the theory transferred well in the program. For the last, they expected to the continuity of the activity for achieving food security. From the result, we have the conclusion that the empowerment program has the right target and held well. We have the conclusion that the empowerment program has the right target and held well.  The different social level of the coastal community may follow the next empowerment program for achieving food security.

Abstract

Covid-19 merupakan penyakit yang penularannya begitu cepat, hampir seluruh negara di dunia telah terdampak penyakit ini. Dampak penyakit ini tidak hanya pada bidang kesehatan  saja, namun telah merambah ke bidang lainnya seperti ekonomi, sosial, budaya dan agama. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya beberapa kebijakan yang mengharuskan masyarakat untuk tetap berada di rumah kecuali ada urusan mendesak. Kebijakan ini mengakibatkan banyaknya usaha perhotelan, kuliner dan industri yang harus ditutup sementara, sehingga banyak produksi yang tidak berjalan. Dampak di bidang agama adalah tidak dapat terlaksananya ibadah sebagaimana biasanya, baik ibadah rutin maupun perayaan hari raya keagamaan. Untuk mengurangi penyebaran dan mengurangi dampak Covid-19, beberapa daerah telah melakukan berbagai upaya namun belum maksimal sehingga dibutuhkan suatu upaya mengetahui pengetahuan dan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap Covid-19 yakni dengan survei. Salah satu wilayah yang memiliki perhatian khusus terhadap kondisi ini adalah Desa Srikuncoro yang terletak di Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Demi tercapainya tujuan survei, pemerintah setempat memintapendampingan survei dari tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan melalui program KKN. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan perangkat Desa Srikuncoro mendapatkan pengetahuan dalam perancangan, pelaksanaan dan penyajian hasil survei.  Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil survei yang telah dilaksanakan adalah separuh dari responden telah memiliki pengathuan yang baik mengenai Covid-19 dan sebagian besar telah memiliki kepedulian terhadap penyebaran Covid-19. ASSISTANCE A SURVEY ON COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE AND CONCERNS ABOUT COVID-19 IN SRIKUNCORO VILLAGE. Covid-19 is a disease that spreads so fast, almost all countries in the world have been affected by this disease. The impact of this disease is not only in the health sector, but has penetrated into other fields such as economics, social, culture and religion. This is because there are several policies that require people to stay at home unless there is an urgent matter. This policy resulted in many hospitality, culinary and industrial businesses having to be temporarily closed, resulting in a lot of production not running. The impact in the field of religion is that worship cannot be carried out as usual, both routine worship and celebration of religious holidays. To reduce the spread and reduce the impact of Covid-19, several regions have made various efforts but have not maximized so that an effort is needed to find out public knowledge and concern for Covid-19, namely through surveys. One area that has special attention to this condition is Srikuncoro Village, which is located in Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu Regency. In order to achieve the survey objectives, the local government requested survey assistance from the community service team and through the Community Service Program. Through this activity, it is hoped that the Srikuncoro Village apparatus will gain knowledge in the design, implementation and presentation of survey results. The conclusion obtained from the results of the survey that has been carried out is that half of the respondents already have good knowledge about Covid-19 and most of them have concerns about the spread of Covid-19.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian menjadi salah satu yang terdampak pandemi COVID 19 sehingga dapat mengancam pemenuhan pangan di Indonesia. Pemerintah menggalakkan ketahanan pangan mandiri dengan cara memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan rumah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga. Efisiensi biaya pemeliharaan tanaman dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan pupuk cair buatan sendiri, salah satunya pupuk rumput laut. Pupuk rumput laut yang dihasilkan pada kegiatan ini berupa pupuk cair hasil ekstraksi rumput laut hijau dan cokelat. Metode ekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi atau perendaman selama 14 hari. Metode yang sederhana dengan bahan yang mudah didapat berpotensi menjadikan pupuk cair rumput laut sebagai penyubur tanaman yang dapat meningkatkan hasil produksi tanaman. MANUFACTURE OF ORGANIC LIQUID FERTILIZER FROM SEAWEEDS TO INCREASE PRODUCTION OF PLANTS IN RT 03 KELURAHAN TANJUNG JAYA KOTA BENGKULU. The agricultural sector is one of the areas affected by the COVID 19 pandemic and can threaten food fulfillment in Indonesia. The government promote independent food security by utilizing their home yards to fullfill the family food needs. The efficiency of plant maintenance costs can be done by using homemade liquid fertilizers, one of which is seaweeds fertilizer. The seaweeds fertilizer that produced in this activity is liquid fertilizer from the extraction of green and brown seaweeds. The extraction method uses the maceration method or soaking for 14 days. A simple method with abundant materials has the potential to make liquid seaweeds fertilizer as plant fertilizers that can increase crop production.

Abstract

The use of traditional coconut peelers by the farmers is found to be less efficient and effective as well as less safe. Therefore, as a community service activities in the KKN of University of Bengkulu Period 93, a Unib’s student had implemented the knowledge gained in college in order to benefit to the community, especially in Bengkulu Province. In this KKN activity, the design and manufacture of a simple coconut peeler was carried out to be used by people in Desa Batu Lungun, Kecamatan Nasal, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province, in where many people work as coconut farmers. The stages of designing process include interviews about community needs and continued with designing and manufacturing a simple coconut peeler. The tool-making process includes forming, welding, and finishing. After running a proper testing of the tools, socialization was done to provide an explanation to the public about the functions and benefits, working principles, how to use, and maintainance of the tools. The product that had been finished are handed over to be used by the community. In addition, we also explain how to make the tools so that people can make their own if they need more. The result obtained from this activity is that the coconut peeler designed and made by students participating in KKN Period 93 can help the Batu Lungun village community, especially coconut farmers, in peeling coconuts from their gardens more efficiently and more safely. By using this tool, the process of peeling 1 coconut takes an average of 15 seconds.

Abstract

This manuscript is compilation of insights on the food culture of Malolos, Bulacan and Mexico, Pampanga in the Philippines. The paper discusses factors that affect the food cultures in the said places. The paper has three major parts: (1) food as a social symbol; (2) food diversity; and (3) food history. The researchers resulted into a conclusion that the food cultures of Malolos, Bulacan and Mexico Pampanga have their own characteristics, especially in terms of the taste, but also share some similarities in terms of food preparation and some of its origins and symbols. These aspects were all affected by different factors such as foreign colonization, scarcity of food, availability of resources, religious beliefs, adaptability of the people in the current situation and innovation.

Abstract

Penyakit Virus Corona 2019 (Corona Virus Disease/Covid-19) merupakan sebuah nama baru yang diberikan oleh Wolrd Health Organization (WHO) bagi infeksi virus Corona 2019 yang pertama kali dilaporkan dari kota Wuhan, Cina pada akhir Tahun 2019. Virus ini kemudian mendadak menjadi teror mengerikan bagi masyarakat dunia, terutama setelah merenggut ribuan nyawa manusia dalam waktu yang relatif singkat. Kebijakan yang diambil oleh banyak negara termasuk Indonesia dengan meliburkan seluruh aktivitas pendidikan, membuat pemerintah dan lembaga terkait harus menghadirkan alternatif proses pendidikan bagi peserta didik maupun mahasiswa. Perguruan tinggi melalui KKN Mandiri Periode 91 mengharapkan mahasiswa mampu memberikan ide dan gagasan untuk membantu masyarakat dalam penanganan wabah Covid-19 dengan tetap memerhatikan kebijakan pemerintah mengenai penanganan penyebaran Covid-19. Disinfektan merupakan salah satu gagasan yang bisa dilakukan dalam penanganan penyebaran Covid-19. Disinfektan adalah bahan kimia yang digunakan untuk menghambat atau membunuh mikroorganisme (misalnya pada bakteri, virus dan jamur kecuali spora bakteri) pada permukaan benda mati, seperti furnitur, ruangan, lantai, dll. Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, Program Studi Statistika FMIPA UNIB memberdayakan mahasiswa Statistika yang mengikuti KKN Mandiri UNIB Periode 91 untuk membantu melakukan kegiatan pendampingan survey pemahaman warga RT 39 Kelurahan Pagar Dewa mengenai disinfektan. SURVEY ASSISTANCE ON UNDERSTANDING OF CITIZENS OF RT.39 RW.07 KELURAHAN PAGAR DEWA ON THE UTILIZATION OF DISINFECTANTS AS A PREVENTION MEASURES THE SPREAD OF COVID-19.The Corona Virus 2019 (Corona Virus Disease / Covid-19) is a new name given by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Corona virus 2019 infection which was first reported from the city of Wuhan, China at the end of 2019. This virus then suddenly become a terrible terror for the world community, especially after kill thousands of human lives in a relatively short time. The policies taken by many countries, including Indonesia, by closing all educational activities, have made the government and related institutions have to present an alternative educational process for students and students. Higher education through the 91 Period of Mandiri KKN hopes that students will be able to provide ideas and ideas to help the community in handling the Covid-19 outbreak while still paying attention to government policies regarding handling the spread of Covid-19. Disinfectant is an idea that can be done in dealing with the spread of Covid-19. Disinfectants are chemicals that are used to inhibit or kill microorganisms (for example, bacteria, viruses and fungi except bacterial spores) on the surface of inanimate objects, such as furniture, rooms, floors, etc. In line with this, the Statistics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNIB empowers Statistics students who take part in the 91-period Mandiri UNIB Community Service to assist in conducting survey assistance activities for residents of RT 39 Pagar Dewa Village regarding disinfectants.
