Abstract

Compliance with treatment is an important factor in the health of hypertensive patients. Compliance is a prerequisite for the effectiveness of hypertension therapy, whereas patient non-compliance with antihypertensive drugs is one of the main factors in the failure of therapy. There are several factors that influence medication adherence and some basic principles of therapy that need to be considered to reach the target of therapy and reduce complications of hypertension. Hypertension sufferers in the Cisalak Pasar Community Health Center are quite numerous, they are generally elementary school and not schooled (74.2%). Kidney complications and a combination of heart and kidney are also quite large, which is 40%. This study aims to determine the pattern of antihypertensive administration and the relationship of age, education level, degree of hypertension, complications and type of therapy with the level of adherence to taking medication for hypertensive patients at the Cisalak Pasar Community Health Center. The research design used in this study was a descriptive cross-sectional. The subjects of the study were essential hypertension patients at the Cisalak Pasar Health Center, Depok who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study are that the pattern of antihypertensive administration is in accordance with JNC 8, there is no relationship between age, education level, hypertension degree and the number of drugs taken with medication compliance, and there is a relationship between the presence or absence of complications with medication compliance

Abstract

Patients undergoing routine hemodialysis are often experiencing fatigue. One of the interventions was made to minimize the level of fatigue through the six-minute walking exercise. This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of the six-minute walking exercise on the decreasing level of fatigue in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The method used is quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. Sixteen HD patients were recruited into two groups: the exercise training group (n= 8) and the control group (n= 8). The six-minutes walking was conducted in March - April 2017 in the hemodialysis room of Fatmawati Hospital Jakarta. Results indicated a significant decrease in fatigue level in the intervention group after four six-week walking exercises over a 2-week period. This is evidenced in the intervention group, there is a decrease in fatigue level from the category of moderate fatigue to mild fatigue. Six-minute walking exercise can be applied and developed by nurses as a part of a health education program to decrease fatigue levels in patients undergoing hemodialysis.

This research was to identify the effect of heart exercise on blood pressure in the elderly at Sanggrahan Hamlet, Wedomartani Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. This research is a quasi-experiment with a pre-post test nonequivalent control group. Samples were taken using consecutive sampling with a sample size of 15 respondents/group. Data were analyzed using paired T-Test. In the control group, mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 137,34 mmHg and 85,63 mmHg.Mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 137,21 mmHg and 85,48 mmHg. In the experimental group, mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 135,27 mmHg and 81,73 mmHg.Mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 133,00 mmHg and 83,53 mmHg. In the control group, p-value pre-posttest systolic and diastolic were 0,592 and 0,543. In experimental group, p-value pre-posttest systolic and diastolic were 0,028 dan 0,344. There was an effect of heart exercise in lowering systolic blood pressure in the elderly at Sanggrahan Hamlet, Wedomartani Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta.
