Abstract

ABSTRAK Background :STIR is a fat suppression technique used in spinal MRI. The TI setting determines how much fat signaling will be suppressed. SENSE is a technique to reduce length of STIR examination time. According to Westbrook, the TI values for a 1.5 Tesla MRI 100 – 175 ms. To find the optimal TI for Lumbosacral MRI need to do a trade-off and research. Method :This research is quantitative with an experimental approach. The study used 15 samples were scanned 3 times on the STIR-SENSE Coronal sequence with TI variations 140, 150 and 160 ms. The data obtained then ROI and SNR is calculated using SPSS. Recorded the scan time. Results : Normality test, p value > 0.05 so the data distribution is normal. In the Test Of Within Subject Effect and the Test Of Between Subject Effect the value of Sig. <0.05 means there is an effect between variables. In the Pairwise Comparison test SNR significance value obtained on all data <0.05, it can be concluded there is a significant difference between the sequences. Scan time on trade-off TI of 140 and 150 ms is 2 minutes 36 seconds and on TI 160 ms 3 minutes 54 seconds. Conclusion :There is effect trade-of f TI value for optimizing the image quality of MRI Lumbosacral STIR-SENSE Coronal Sequence at Bali Mandara Hospital. The most optimal image quality ontime inversion trade-off 150 ms with mean 391.607 and a short examination time of 2 minutes 36 seconds.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: Patient preparation aims to minimize the appearance of air and feces which can interfere with doctors assessing anatomy and pathology on radiographs, and in some cases can even cause a delay in IVP examination. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference between KUB examination patients with and without patient preparation (Abbasi A, Siyal A and Soomro M.I, 2015). Preparation of IVP patients between outpatients and inpatients at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekardjo Purwokerto differs in the presence or absence of lavement. Method: This type of research is descriptive research. The population of the study was request sheets for photos and plain photo radiographs for BNO IVP examination with indications of hydronephrosis. The exclusion criteria for this study were patients aged ≥ 50 years to avoid the effects of constipation. The assessment uses a questionnaire that refers to The European Commission Guideline For Evaluation Of Radiographic Images and the assessment criteria determined by the researcher. Results: up to 6 patients came from the Inpatient Installation and 6 patients came from the Outpatient Installation. Inpatient installation has a higher total score for renal outline. Inpatient installation has a lower total score for visualization of the right psoas line and bone system, but gives the same score for the left psoas line. The Inpatient Installation has a higher total score for visualizing a lot of air and feces than the Outpatient Installation for the proximal colon area, while the distal colon area has the same score. In the distal colonic area, more radiographs from inpatient settings show air and stool features that may interfere with diagnosis than outpatient settings. This can be caused by visits from guests when visiting patients. The tendency of guests to bring food and chat with patients can affect this. Conclusion: In general, radiographs from outpatients and inpatients can clearly show the organs which include, the entire urinary tract area from the upper pole of the kidney to the basal bladder, renal outline, psoas line and bone system, but visualization of a lot of air and feces is more higher than the Outpatient Installation for the proximal colon area, while the distal colon area has the same score.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background :The lopographic examination according to Lampignano and Kendrick (2018) uses barium sulfate contrast media which is inserted through the stoma, using plain photos, AP/PA, Lateral, Oblique, post evacuation. Installation of Radiology Hospital Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto using a non-ionic water soluble contrast media mixed with NaCl, inserted into the proximal stoma and anus with plain photos, AP, Lateral. The purpose of the study was to determine the lopographic examination procedure, the reasons for using water soluble contrast media, to find out anatomical information from the AP and Lateral. Methods :This research used qualitative approach with a case study. Data collection were used observation, interviews, documentation. Research respondents were patients, radiographers, radiologist, and dispatching doctors. Data analysis with interactive analysis model. Result : Showed that the lopographic examination was aimed at evaluating the colon after colostomy and chemotherapy. Patients undergo special preparation. The water soluble contrast medium was mixed with NaCl in a ratio of 1: 4 because it was safer than barium sulfate. The reason for insertion of contrast media through the proximal stoma and anus is the absence of a stoma to the distal colon. Anatomical information from the plain photo is the distribution of air in the colon, the AP projection looks contrast to fill the ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon and superpositioned sigmoid colon. Laterally, the sigmoid colon and rectum are seen. Diagnostic information was not found in colonic carcinoma residif cells.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Conventional radiographic examination of the hip joint post-operative Total Hip Arthoplasty aims to propose a prosthesis on the Hip Joint. Parameters assessed with AP Pelvis Projection include leg length, center of horizontal rotation, center of vertical rotation. Acetabular inclination, femoral stem positioning, and cement mentle thickness can be assessed on AP Unilateral Hip Projection and AP Pelvis Projection, whereas Acetabular anteversion can only be seen with inferosuperior axiolateral projections. Conventional radiographic examination of the hip joint after Total Hip Arthoplasty surgery at the Radiology Installation of Tidar Magelang Hospital was only carried out by AP Pelvis Projection. Method: This research type is qualitative with case study approach. Data collection methods consisted triangulation method of observation, interview and documentation. Research subject consist 3 radiology technologist, 1 specialist doctor, and 1 radiology doctor. Collected data will be analyzed with interactive technique transformed into transcript and then reducted. After that the data will be shown as quotation. Based on data and literature study, author will conclude. Result: Radiographic exam of hip joint post-operation Total Hip Arthoplasty in Radiology Departement of RSUD Tidar Magelang is done in accordance to standard procedure of only using AP Pelvic projection. This is done to acquire radiographic image of both sides of the hip joints, the whole prosthetic component, and reducing the radiation received. Central point set on the center of symphisis pubic, with area of collimation as wide as the detector to acquire image of the whole prosthetic. Without lateral projection the lateral view of the prosthetic cannot be acquired causing the absence of the radiographic images of both acetabular anteversion and the acetabular retroversion. Causing the angle of acetabular component of the prosthetic cannot be measured. Resulting in the loss additional information. Conclusion: AP Pelvic projection is in accordance to standard procedure of Radiology Departement of RSUD Tidar Magelang, specialist doctor’s request, and had shown the radiographic image of the whole prosthetic component. From author’s opinion, it is best that lateral projection still be done to acquire complete information of the radiographic evaluation of post-operation Total Hip Arthoplasty.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Thyroid scan is an examination of the thyroid with a gamma camera that aims to obtain functional morphological images of the thyroid and assess the ability of the thyroid gland to capture radioactive substances. From some literature that researchers reviewed, there were differences in thyroid scan procedures, such as the use of radiopharmaceuticals, the time interval for imaging after radiopharmaceutical administration (static image), and projections to produce images of the thyroid gland.. Methods: This type of research is a library research or literature review by reviewing as many as 50 journals related to Nuclear Medicine Examination during the last 10 years. Then the researchers screened the journals related to the thyroid scan examination of the thyroid gland in as many as 4 journals Results: Based on the review results, to diagnose hyperthyroidism, use 99mTc with a static image time of 15-20 minutes & 123I with a static image time of 24 hours. Use of 99mTc & 131I to detect intrathoracic goiter causing hyperthyroidism, with a static image time of 20 min after 99mTc04, and 24 hours after 131I; The projections used were anterior & posterior thoracic and anterior neck with markers on the inferior isthmus for the 99mTc 04 scan, whereas those for 131I scans were only anterior projections. And to diagnose ectopic thyroid, using AP, RAO, & lateral projection after 10 min of 99mTc 04 injection, as well as post water anterior projection, lateral view is useful for localizing other tracer uptake. Conclusions : Several techniques and uses of radiopharmaceuticals in thyroid scan examination are based on the clinical findings and the objective of the evaluation of the thyroid gland itself. The use of the right technique can greatly help the radiologist to diagnose abnormalities in patients.

Abstract

ABSTRACT BackBackground: The increasing number of social media users is currently being used by various sectors, including the health sector, which since the Covid-19 pandemic has received special attention from the public as ammunition for credible information. One of them is the Radiotherapy unit through various associations and or communities as an adhesive between radiographers. So far, Radioteapi has become a health unit that is safe in disseminating content information, no viral content has been found that contains negative content or violates the rules until it is in the name of the medical personnel in the Radiotherapy unit. This is certainly an opportunity to be used as a mediation of information in the health sector, especially through the association of medical personnel, one of which in this case is PARI. So, in the future, social media will not be limited only to the interests of members or radiographers but can be used as a manifestation of the radiographer's effective communication competence for the community. Methods: The research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative-qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of literature studies, analysis of Instagram social media content, and interviews with PARI members. Convinience sampling was used to take samples of 2 central PARI Instragam accounts and 9 branch PARI Instagram accounts which were then processed by calculating engagement rate impressions and content strategy analysis with indicators like, comments and message content. Results: The results show that several central PARI Instagram accounts and branch managers have quite low engagement rate impressions, this can be improved by consistent content updates by considering the content strategy in the form of MEME content as entertainment as well as informative content, exposing members' experiences as positive reviews of the association, Documentation content of regular meeting activities and informative content of PARI membership updates. Conclusions: The content strategy that has been carried out at least meets the health indicators in the digital field according to a specific classification (Jean-Emmanuel Bibault, et all, 2017) in terms of reflective, responsive, relevant, and flexible information aimed at the target audience, namely between members and between radiographers. .

Abstract

Background: Computed Radiography (CR)is a radiographic image processing computer acquisition technology. In CR, the radiographic image results are stored in a special film cassette and expressed in the form of the gray level of the image pixels. The results of the radiographic image on the film cassette are then read by a scanner and then can be saved in the form of an image file, which can be a special digital film format called DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine). One of the disturbances that occur in the resulting CR image is artifact. The length of time used (age) of CR cassette can cause interference with the results of radiographic images. The longer the life of the CR cassette and the more frequent use of the CR cassette, the noise may appear in the radiographic image results. The condition of the CR cassette has a big effect on the formation od the image so that physical collision such as falling, regardless of grip or impact should be avoided when inserted into the CR reader. Methods: This type of research uses quantitative research with an experimental approach. The CR cassettes studied were 4 CR cassette with different sizes but the length of time used (age) was the same. All 4 CR cassette were exposes to the same exposure factor. The object used is the step wedge. The results of the radiographic images are evaluated subjectively by 5 respondents (radiographers) to draw conclusions. Results: The duration of use (age) of CR cassette is done properly and does not often occur, it will produce good radiographic image results and can be used to establish diagnoses. Physical impact on the CR cassette can results in artifact. Artifact contained in the results of CR images can interfere with diagnosis.
