Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the quality of the X-ray beam using a half value layer (HVL) aluminum filter on a stationary X-ray device at the Akademi Teknik Radiodiagnostik dan Radiotherapi (ATRO) Bali. This study aims to determine the quality of the X-ray beam on a stationary X-ray device at ATRO Bali by looking at the magnitude of the HVL value produced. The tools used are aluminum filters with thicknes of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mm which are varied for each current used, a constant tube voltage of 80 kV, tube currents of 100, 125, 160, and 200 mA, exposure time of 0.1 s and an X-ray multimeter. The value of HVL was determined by linear regression test using SPSS. On each tube current used, the average HVL value was 2.77 mmAl. The t-test indicated that the HVL value is not in accordance with the KMK standard number 1250 in 2009 which is in the range of ? 2.3 mmAl to < 2.5 mmAl. Abstrak Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui kualitas berkas sinar-X menggunakan half value layer (HVL) filter aluminium pada pesawat sinar-X stationary di Akademi Teknik Radiodiagnostik dan Radioterapi (ATRO) Bali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas berkas sinar-X pada pesawat sinar-X stationary di ATRO Bali dengan melihat besarnya nilai HVL yang dihasilkan. Alat bantu yang digunakan berupa filter aluminium dengan tebal 0,5, 1,0, dan 2,0 mm, yang divariasi pada setiap besarnya arus yang digunakan, tegangan tabung konstan sebesar 80 kV, arus tabung 100, 125, 160, dan 200 mA, waktu eksposi sebesar 0,1 detik dan multimeter sinar-X. Untuk mengetahui besar nilai HVL digunakan uji regresi linier menggunakan SPSS. Pada masing-masing arus tabung yang digunakan diperoleh nilai HVL rata-rata 2,77 mmAl. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa nilai HVL tersebut kurang sesuai dengan standar KMK nomor 1250 tahun 2009 yaitu dalam rentang ? 2,3 mmAl sampai < 2,5 mmAl.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a normal response in the face of stress which is characterized by feelings of fear accompanied by somatic signs. The patient's anxiety in the MRI examination arises because he knows he will receive medical treatment related to the use of radiation that will cause adverse effects that cause infertility or cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of music therapy in reducing anxiety when undergoing an MRI examination. Method: The design of this study used a posttest only intervention group design. The study was conducted on 18 July – 12 August 2022 in the MRI Room of the Bali Mandara Hospital, Bali Province. The sample was 72 people who were divided into 2 intervention and control groups. The inclusion criteria of this study were patients with head first examination position, age above 18 years. Exclusion criteria were patients with decreased consciousness, hearing loss and weight above 150 kg. The research instrument used the MRI-AQ questionnaire, and the Mann Whitney statistical test. Result: The results showed that most of the respondents were 46-55 years old (33.3%), most of the MRI examinations were Lumbo sacral type (54.2%), and the level of anxiety was mostly mild (91.6%). The results of the normality test of data <0.05 so that the data is not normally distributed. The Mann Whitney test was conducted to determine the effect of music therapy and obtained p = 0.001 indicating there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group. Conslusion: The intervention of providing music therapy to patients undergoing MRI examination has an effect in reducing patient anxiety, especially in patients undergoing MRI examination. Music makes the examination more pleasant for the patient. Music causes positive changes in the environment and distracts from the examination, relaxing the patient.

Abstract

Pendahuluan. Cephalgia merupakan keluhan yang sering dirasakan di daerah kepala. Cephalgia dapat dibedakan menjadi 2 jenis yaitu nyeri kepala primer dan nyeri kepala sekunder. CT Scan diperlukan sebagai penunjang diagnostik pada pasien yang datang dengan keluhan nyeri kepala. Metode. Jenis  penelitian  yang  dilakukan adalah   kualitatif   dengan   pendekatan   studi   kasus   teknik   pengambilan   data dengan  observasi  langsung,  wawancara  dengan  nara  sumber  dan  dokumentasi yang  di  lakukan di Instalasi Radiologi RSUD Kab. Karangasem. Hasil. Hasil dari penelitian ini tentang teknik pemeriksaan CT scan kepala kontras kasus cephalgia area scan dari vertex sampai batas bawah sinus maksilaris bertujuan untuk melihat lebih banyak organ yang menunnjukkan penyebab dari cephalgia itu, seperti dari sinus, nasopharing, dll. Flow rate diatur 1,5 presure 75 psi supaya selang injector tidak lepas, tidak terjadi edema. Kesimpulan dan saran. Untuk area scan pemeriksaan CT Scan kepala kontras sebaiknya mengikuti teori yang ada yaitu dari vertex sampai basic cranii. Pengaturan flow rate 1,5 ml/s pada pemeriksaan CT Scan kepala kontras sebaiknya juga mengikuti teori yaitu 2-3 ml/s supaya meningkatkan enhacemen media kontras pada pembuluh darah di kepala.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Perfusion MRI such as Dynamic Contrast Enhancement (DCE) sequences are able to provide detailed structural and metabolic information about tumor tissue, so the diagnostic imaging results can approach histologic diagnosis non-invasively. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the Time intensity curve (TIC) and the characteristics of soft tissue tumors in the extremities, and also to determine the sensitivity and specificity values. Methods: This research is a descriptive quantitative study using retrospective data. The samples of this study were all patients with soft tissue tumors of the extremities who underwent MRI examination of the extremities at the RIR Installation of Prof. RSUP. Dr. IGNG Ngoerah Denpasar and histopathological examinations were implemented during the period of June 2021-July 2022. Types I-II were associated with benign tumors. Meanwhile, the type of III-V as malignant tumors were compared with the histopathological characteristics of soft tissue tumors. Results: From 30 samples, it was found the result of the spearman rank test was about the relationship between TIC and soft tissue tumor characteristics. It was shown that the p value was 0.014 (p<0.05), and the result of diagnostics test with a 2x2 table obtained a sensitivity value of 89.47% and a specificity of 9.09% Conclusion: Time intensity curve on DCE MRI is able to distinguish the characteristics of soft tissue tumors of the extremities, especially malignancies.

Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is the most common case in Indonesia. One of the modalities for detecting breast cancer is MRI. The DWI sequence is one of the sequences used in MRI Breast. In breast DWI, the use of effective fat suppression techniques is essential. Several studies have stated that the most common fat suppression techniques used in breast MRI are STIR and SPAIR, because they are considered capable of optimally displaying lesion images. Signal intensity and image quality depend on fat suppression technique, the choice of method used for breast DWI should be considered, because it can affect lesion identification and ROI for calculating ADC used to differentiate benign and malignant lesions. Methods: This study is a literature review study with descriptive qualitative research type. Collect and analyze library sources from several published data. After being reduced based on the topic, 6 main relevant articles were found to be used as a basis to review, describing and discussing the results according to the topic and then criticizing according to the author's view and determining conclusions. Results: The results of this study showed that DWI-STIR and DWI-SPAIR on MRI Breast imaging have use in suppressing fat and can show the difference between benign and malignant lesions of the breast. With the difference in DWI-SPAIR, the results of SNR and CNR are higher, and DWI-STIR, the results are more homogeneous. Conclusion: DWI-STIR and DWI-SPAIR can suppress fat and differentiate lesions well. DWI-SPAIR is better for lesion visibility on high-tesla MRI, and DWI-STIR is better for low-tesla MRI.

Knee Coil is a volume coil that can act as a transmitter and receiver at the same RF signal. Flex Coil is a surface coil which has a high SNR for a superficial examination (a small organ). The purpose of this research is to know comparison the value of signal to noise ratio (SNR) and higher the value of signal to noise ratio (SNR) at MRI Wrist Joint examination using Knee Coil and Flex Coil. Type of this research is quantitative experimental approach. The research data which 10 samples. Assessments are performed on the whole Wrist Joint and per anatomic criteria subjectively Carpometacarpal Joint, Midcarpal Joint, Radiocarpal Joint, Schapoid, Lunatum dan Triquetrum. Then the results of the data in Paired T-Test tested. Test results that there are differences in comparison the value of signal to noise ratio (SNR) at MRI Wrist Joint examination using Knee Coil and Flex Coil which has a smaller ρ Value (<0,05) per anatomic criteria and whole Wrist Joint. This is consistent with the results of the calculation of the average SNR value on the higher Knee Coil that is 143.84 because the coil acts as transreceiver and has two preamplifiers so as to improve the SNR. Conclusion: There is a difference in comparison the value of Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR) at MRI Wrist Joint examination using Knee Coil and Flex Coil.

Abstract

Saat proses scanning CT-Scan, pasien menerima dosis radiasi sinar-X, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengukuran besarnya estimasi dosis radiasi yang diterima pasien dalam setiap pemeriksaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui estimasi nilai dosis radiasi pada pemeriksaan CT Scan kepala dan Menganalisis Nilai Dosis Radiasi dengan acuan IDRL. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif deskriptif yaitu dengan melakukan pengamatan yaitu dengan mengamati nilai dosis CTDIvol dan DLP, penulis mengambil 151 sampel dan dari data yang didapatkan dilakukan analisis menggunakan software SPSS. Berdasarkan data hasil perhitungan uji statistik Estimasi Nilai kuatil 3 dari CTDIvol pada pemerikaan CT-Scan Kepala Non Kontras sebesar 49.90 mGy dan DLP sebesar 1199.10 mGy*cm, jika dilihat dari panduan IDRL 2021, masih dibawah dari nilai yang dianjurkan oleh BAPETEN, dimana nilai yang ditetapkan untuk CT-Scan Kepala Dewasa Non Kontras yaitu sebesar 60 untuk nilai CTDI dan 1275 mGy*cm untuk nilai DLP.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kadar Sel Leukosit dan Eritrosit Selama Terapi Radiasi Pada Pasien Kanker Nasofaring. Karsinoma nasofaring  merupakan tumor ganas yang berasal dari sel epitel pada nasofaring. Karena lokasi anatominya yang kompleks dan radiosensitivitasnya yang tinggi, radioterapi (RT) merupakan pengobatan yang direkomendasikan. Salah satu efek dari radioterapi adalah terganggunya proses pembentukan sel darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kadar sel leukosit dan sel eritrosit selama terapi radiasi pada pasien kanker nasofaring di Instalasi Radioterapi RSUD NTB periode tahun 2020-2021. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan data retrospektif dengan sampel seluruh pasien kanker nasofaring yang telah menjalani terapi radiasi di Instalasi Radioterapi RSUD NTB dan telah melakukan tes laboratorium darah lengkap selama periode 2020-2021 yang akan dilakukan pencatatan  jumlah kadar leukosit dan eritrosit dari data hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium darah lengkap yang terdapat pada rekam medis pasien kanker nasofaring di Instalasi Radioterapi RSUD  NTB. Hasil: Dari 18 sampel yang digunakan didapatkan hasil dari uji friedman mengenai perbedaan kadar sel leukosit pada pasien kanker nasofaring selama menjalani terapi radiasi menunjukkan hasil p value sebesar 0,906, dan dari hasil uji repeat anova mengenai perbedaan kadar sel eritrosit pada pasien kanker nasofaring selama menjalani terapi radiasi menunjukkan hasil p value sebesar 0,928. Kesimpulan: Tidak terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kadar sel darah leukosit maupun sel darah eritrosit pada pasien kanker nasofaring selama terapi radiasi di Instalasi Radioterapi RSUD Provinsi NTB periode tahun 2020-2021.

Abstract

Herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP) is the leading cause of back pain in old age, occurring as a result of tearing of the fibrous annulus and the nucleus pulposus exiting through the tear. To optimize pathology, fat suppression techniques are needed to suppress fat and fluid. Fat Suppression techniques include Dixon and SPAIR. The use of Dixon is relatively longer but can produce four images at once, while SPIR has the advantage of being more resistant to inhomogeneous magnetic fields. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between T2WI SPIR and T2WI diagnostic image information Dixon Sagital Cut Lumbar MRI with Hernia Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) cases as well as find out which one is better between the two techniques. The type of research used is quantitative research with an experimental approach that uses prospective data aimed at determining the difference in diagnostic image information T2WI SPIR and T2WI Dixon MRI examination of Sagital Cuts. The study population is patients who perform Lumbar MRI examinations with HNP cases at the Radiology Installation of NTB Provincial Hospital for the period May-July 2023. This study applied total sampling, using a research sample of 17 patients. The results showed a difference in image information between the T2WI SPIR and T2WI Dixon sequences on Lumbar MRI examination of Sagital Cut with a p-velue value smaller than α (<0.05), namely in the anatomy of the Spinal Cord with a p-value (0.021), and the anatomy of the Corpus Vertebraewith value p-value (0.001). The T2 Spir sequence is more optimal in showing anatomical information on the Sagittal Cut lumbar MRI examination compared to the T2 Dixon sequence. due to the more homogeneous emphasis of fat on the anatomy of the Spinal Cord and Corpus Vertebrae
