Cakrawala: Jurnal Pendidikan
Cakrawala: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan (P-ISSN:1858-4497, E-ISSN: 2549-9300) is a scholarly journal aimed to provide a platform for both established and early-career researchers. This journal accepts research-based papers from the fields of Teaching and Learning; Language and Literacy Education; and Applied Human Development in the Context of Schooling with submissions accepted throughout the year. It is published biannually, May and November, by Universitas Pancasakti Tegal, Indonesia. Papers are all subject to peer review before being accepted for inclusion. Contributions for future editions are welcome. Starting from Vol. 12 No. 1, Cakrawala has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) of The Republic of Indonesia based on Director Decree No. 23/E/KPT/2019 dated 08 Agustus 2019. The Decree is as an achievement for the Peer-reviewed journal which has excellent quality in management and publication and is effective for 5 years until 2023.

This study aims to determine: 1) Average student learning outcomes using conventional learning methods 2) Average student learning outcomes using active learning methods of debate 3) The difference in the average of student learning outcomes. The approach taken in this research is quantitative approach. The type of research is experimental research, Quasy Experimental Design research design with Nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that: 1) The average learning outcomes of students using conventional learning is in good category with a value of 70.47; 2) The average student learning outcomes using active debate learning are in very good category with a score of 81.17; 3) There are differences in student learning outcomes based on t hitung (-5,429) ≥ t table (2.045) with Sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 ≤ 0.05 so that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.

The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Biology students of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Comal Pemalang as well as obtaining a biology learning approach appropriate for the basic competence of the human motion system. This study is a Classroom Action Research conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle includes Planning, Acting, Observing, and reflecting. The test results showed an average increase of 72.9 in cycle I to 84.2 in cycle II. Results Questionnaire respondents showed that in cycle I 65% of students interested in contextual learning and 35% of students are not interested, while in cycle II there are 87.50% of students who are interested in contextual learning and 12.50% of students are not interested in contextual learning. Based on the research results can be concluded that learning CTL on the subject of the human motion system can improve student learning outcomes of grade VII SMP Negeri 3 Comal Pemalang and shows that contextual learning can improve student performance.

This research was a classroom action research aimed to determine the improvement of motivation and learning achievement of subject matter of the circle and teacher performance with guided discovery method. The subjects of the study were VIII D students at SMP Negeri1 Talang Tegal Regency of 2015/2016 consisted of 32 students and 2 mathematics teacher’s. There were two cycles; each cycle consisted of four stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results in the first cycle obtained the average value of student learning outcomes 71.86 with the lowest score of 50 and the highest score of 90.00 and students obtained a minimum score of 75 were 14 students (43.75%). While in the second cycle obtained an average score of 79.7 with the lowest score of 50 and the highest value of 100 and students received a minimum score of 75 were 27 students (84.4%). The result of teacher's observation on teacher I cycle has not been effective yet, teacher performance percentage was 80,9%. However in cycle II the teacher showed an increase to 90.6%. Student activity in cycle I was 51.5%, while in cycle II rose to 87,5%. This study proved that guided discovery method can improve the motivation, learning achievement and teacher performance

This research is to know the influence of mathematics learning by using the number train rail on the addition matter and the reduction of the IV class. This type of research is quantitative. The research method used is Nonequavalent Control Group Design. Research instruments were collected using quiz techniques. The research location is SDN Made 1 No.475 Surabaya Jl. Made Raya No. 31-33. The subjects of the study were students of class IV-A and IV-B. The results showed that there was an influence between the experimental group and the control group. There is a difference between the learning that uses the medium of the railway train of numbers with the learning using the number line. From the number of percentage obtained from the analysis of student response data that exceeds the specified standard, it can be said that the use of medium rail train number in class IV gets a positive response.

This research and development to knowing develompment and feasibility of media a process learning by themathic approach of curriculum KTSP. The research this research and development model Borg and Gall. The population were students third grade of SDN Langse 02 and SDN 7 Gondoharum. The data were obtained through questionare, interview, and documentation. Wiwit Fitriana has produced flanel board combining on picture stories and two-dimension icons made from flannel that packed in topic of work. The result before doing a tryout were obtained from the expert validator of media reached 98% in high appropriate level and the expert validator of material rearched 100% in high appropriate level as well. After doing a tryout, the result showed that: (1) analisys of questionnaire both of school rearched 96% and 98% in high appropriate level, (2) raising data achievement of KKM from 30-50% to 89%-92%, and (3) data of questionnaire from the practitioner both of schools was 100% and 100% in high appropriate level according to the writer indicator.

This study aimed to determine the relationship of principal leadership with teacher work motivation; Principal ethical behavioral relationship with teacher work motivation; Leadership relationships and principal ethical behavior with teacher work motivation; And the relationship of work motivation with teacher performance. Subjects of this study were 20 teachers. The implications are: 1) Principal is expected to lead and coordinate all activities in school thus results can be felt directly by teachers to improve their work motivation. 2) Principal’s ethical attitudes and actions make teachers feel cared for and respected, thus improving great passion to work. 3) Teacher’s work motivation cannot be used as a indicator to improve teacher’s performance, but work motivation can be directed to improve work productivity in school

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Numbered Heads Together and Three Minutes Review techniques on students’ vocabulary mastery. It used quantitative approach with factorial design. It involved the seventh graders of Simbang Wetan Islamic Junior High School Pekalongan that were chosen through purposive sampling. Class 7A that consisted of 25 students was considered as the experimental group, and they were taught by using Numbered Heads Together. On the other hand, class 7B that consisted of 27 students was considered as the control group, and they were taught by using Three Minutes Review. The methods of data collection of this study were observation, questionnaire, and test. Based on the calculation of the research result, it showed that Ftable = 4.26 and Fcount = 17.39. Because Fcount > Ftable, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that there is significant difference between the post-test score of experimental group and control group. In other words, Numbered Heads Together is more effective than Three Minutes Review in teaching vocabulary for high and low achievers.

The importance of mastering the listening skill in learning foreign language (English) requires the lecturer’s role to implement the enjoyable, applicative and interactive teaching and learning. Based on the previous studies, ProjectBased Learning (PBL) model can improve students’ listening and speaking skills. This research, therefore, aims to find out: (a) how students and lecturer learning activities implement Project-Based Learning in Listening class, and (b) to what extend the students’ listening achievement through this Project-Based Learning model. The sample is third semester students at English education department of Teacher and Training Faculty of Pancasakti University of Tegal on the subject of Listening in Professional Contexts. To obtain the data, researcher uses action research with two cycles. There are four stages on each cycle, i.e: Planning, Implemetation of Action, Observation and Evaluation, as well as Reflection. After gaining data and conducting analysis, the result, furthermeore, contributes in Listening class, in which it can be shown through increasing students’ achievement and applying this model

This research was aimed to increase motivation and writing skill of Javanese script’s students at XII IPA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Kramat, 2016/2017 academic years. This research was conduct in two circle using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) strategy by audiovisual media. From the result of the research there was the rise of student’s learning motivation from the average 68,1 % in the first circle become 86,9 % in the second circle. Whereas the result of learning in writing drama script from 75 % in the first circle become 93,8 % in the second circle. It is proved that the use of CTL strategy by audiovisual media can increase student’s motivation and students’ writing skill of Javanese drama script

The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical information about teacher competence, and teacher performance in planning, implementing and evaluating the curriculum 2013. The research is carried out using qualitative approach type case study. In accordance with the characteristics of the problem studied, this research activity is based on evaluative descriptive studies. Characteristics of qualitative research are characterized by activities to observe people in real situations both in the interacting environment, as well as to understand the behavior of the observed person. The location of this research is in SMP N 1 Kota Tegal Central Java Province and the subjects of this study are the principal of 1 person, 10 teachers, 1 student, vice head of curriculum 1 person in junior high school N 1 Tegal City Central Java Province From the results of this study it can be concluded that the performance of teachers as the developers of the 2013 curriculum is good but there are still many shortcomings about the understanding of the concept of learning contained in the curriculum 2013, the 2013 curriculum emphasizes the development of the character of learners, 2013 curriculum is very good for learners in developing the process of thinking and discussio.
