Cakrawala: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan (P-ISSN:1858-4497, E-ISSN: 2549-9300) is a scholarly journal aimed to provide a platform for both established and early-career researchers. This journal accepts research-based papers from the fields of Teaching and Learning; Language and Literacy Education; and Applied Human Development in the Context of Schooling with submissions accepted throughout the year. It is published biannually, May and November, by Universitas Pancasakti Tegal, Indonesia. Papers are all subject to peer review before being accepted for inclusion. Contributions for future editions are welcome. Starting from Vol. 12 No. 1, Cakrawala has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) of The Republic of Indonesia based on Director Decree No. 23/E/KPT/2019 dated 08 Agustus 2019. The Decree is as an achievement for the Peer-reviewed journal which has excellent quality in management and publication and is effective for 5 years until 2023.

Abstract

Determination of the level of student learning abilities based on the results of the evaluation of the learning process is the most important stage in recognizing the absorbency characteristics of each student. It appears in the response response of the learning process from the lecturers that there is a slow and fast response, so that there needs to be a different action from the lecturer on this matter. The purpose of this study was to determine the classification of assessments of student learning outcomes by using anfis. The study was conducted in class C and E Academic Year 2017/2018 with mathematics and linear & Matrix algebra courses. Type of Quantitative Research using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, literature studies and documentation. The data taken was tested for normality and homogeneity. The Fuzzy Sugena research results are very suitable for this classification compared to fuzzy mamdani although with fuzzy mamdani there is a smaller error rate of 0.87. Students can be categorized as very good categories of 9 students and a good category of 21 students out of a total of 30 students or can be held very well (30%), and good (70%). After the teaching staff is able to classify students based on the criteria, from that it causes the teaching staff to be able to provide feedback to all students in their class differently. The instructor is able to develop strategies in learning so that what is desired by students who have different criteria can get appropriate treatment Because an educator must be able to understand students who have a diversity of characters that cannot be compared to the way they learn

Abstract

This research deals with the correlation between students vocabulary mastery and their achievement in their reading comprehension. The data were taken from 33 students from class X-TKJ of SMK As Sakienah in Sliyeg The writer used quantitative method by Pearson Product Moment. From the calculation by using product moment formula, it was found out that the coefficient correlation from this research is 0,8409.. It can be concluded that there is positive and high correlation level between students’ vocabulary mastery and their achievement in reading comprehension. This research used significance level 5%. From the hypothesis testing result, it was found that r_count is 0,8409 >r _table 0,3494. Based on the fact, it can be concluded that Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. So, there is significance correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their achievement in reading comprehension.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is one of the platforms that has been provided by the government for toddlers and young childrento be their initial foothold in the world of education. The media is used by the teacher to deliver the subject matter to students so thatlearning activities can take place effectively, efficiently, and attractively. One of the electronic media that can be used in preparationcenters is computer-based learning software. The purpose of this study is to develop a Learning Kit at the Center for Preparing to UseYoutube Videos in Early Childhood Education. This research belongs to the development research. This research method is RecearchAnd Development (R&D). This research method is used to produce certain products and assess the effectiveness of these products.Development of mathematics learning tools in the form of Syllabus, Monthly Activity Plans (RKB), Daily Activity Plans (RKH), andLearning Books preparation material for the second semester of early childhood education aged 4-6 years. The percentage of studentswho completed 19 and 90.4% presented means that students have achieved a predetermined competency that is understanding theproblems related to number recognition. In addition, students also meet the classical completeness criteria, because the percentage ofstudents who complete is 90.4%, so it can be said that overall students have achieved the specified competencies. from these resultsindicate that this learning can be said to be effective because the value of students who complete by 90.4%.

Abstract

The ability to understand the physical concepts of mechanics in Applied Physics subjects is important for cadets. This understanding will later beused in the clarification of technical problems and ship engineering. The objectives of this study are (1) To produce a profile of the ability of theMaritime Academy cadets in understanding the concepts of mechanical physics, and (2) To show differences in physical abilities based on schoolorigin and regional origin. The subject of this research is the Nusantara Maritime academy cadets who have studied applied physics, and are in thesame semester. This type of research is observational with a cross-sectional approach. The main data collection of this study was obtained usingInterview techniques. In addition, there are supporting data which are the results of written research subjects' work in understanding physics physicsquestions. The results of this study are as follows: there is no difference in the ability of cadets to complete physics mechanics based on regional originwith a P value = 0.09 and there is a difference in the ability of cadets to complete mechanical physics based on educational origin with P = 0.043.

Abstract

This study describes comprehensively improving the quality of education (inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes) through management of improving the quality of education based on the Semester Credit System. An educational innovation that refers to the provision of facilities to students who have talent and intelligence above the average in order to be able to master many lessons in a short span of time. The implementation of the Semester Credit System program at SMA Negeri 3 Purwokerto has the aim of optimizing the development potential of students and being able to improve the quality of education comprehensively. This study uses a combination method (mixed exploratory sequential method). Data collection by observation, interview, documentation and questionnaire. Data analysis is done by giving meaning to the data collected, from the meaning of the data the authors draw conclusions. The results showed: (1) Management of improving the quality of education based on the Semester Credit System includes: planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring (2) The results of the management of improving the quality of education include: students and parents of students are satisfied, the quality of education increases as seen from the increase in academic achievement and non academic student.

Abstract

This study is aimed at describing students’ ability in writing descriptive texts viewed from analytic assessment presented by O’Malley and Pierce, involving composing, style, sentence formation, usage and mechanics. The study was conducted by applying a descriptive quantitative-qualitative method. The data were taken from 15 descriptive texts made by the second semester students of English Department, Pancasakti University Tegal 2018/2019. The result of the study shows that there are 33.4% of the students are “good”, 40% of the students are “fair”, and 26.6% of the students are “bad”. The students mean score is 65 (fair), and the scores of each components are as follows: composing is 71.6, style is 66.2, sentence formation is 60, usage is 55.7, and mechanics is 55. The result also shows that the texts are developed trough correct generic structure involving identification and descriptions. The writer suggested that the students need to study harder and practice more frequently to increase their writing ability, specifically in mechanics as their weakness in writing.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a learning model that can improve student achievement. Analyzing the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model (PBM) can improve student achievement higher than the previous learning outcomes that do not use PBL learning models in SD Negeri Kagok 01 Slawi District, Tegal Regency. Knowing the form of support from the principal, other teachers and facilities in the implementation of the PBM learning model. The target of this research is expected to find empirical data and facts is the desired product of this research and development in the form of PBM learning models. The research method will be implemented namely Field Prasurvey (factual model), collecting data relating to: (a) students; (b) teaching and learning process; (c) teacher and (d) facilities and environment. The draft model (a) design of the model, consists of formulating competencies, determining material, and preparing lesson plans, determining methods, media, and evaluation; (b) Application of the model by conducting a pre test. (c). Application of the model by conducting a post test. (d). Conduct analysis by comparing pre test and post test scores with t tests. From the results of calculations with the t test obtained, the empirical t test is greater than the t test in the table, so it is concluded that the PBM model is more effective.

Abstract

This research aims to compile the philosophical formulation and construction of educational theory based on the ancient Javanese philosophy book, Sang Hyang Tatwa Jnana and Sang Hyang Nawa Ruci. To achieve these research objectives, carried out by studying and compiling philosophical formulations and educational theories that originate from ancient Javanese philosophy. This research uses document analysis method. The documents used are the books of Sang Hyang Tatwajnana and Sang Hyang Nawa Ruci, which were compiled and reinterpreted by Damar Shashangka in his book entitled Ancient Javanese Science. Ancient Javanese Theory of Education can be formulated as follows: (1) the general purpose of education is to release egoism, greed, and hatred, (2) Students have potential abilities derived from experiences gained from previous births (reincarnations), (3) Contents education is divided into two, namely soft skills and hard skills. Soft skill is learning related to awareness, perception and affective while hard skills are related to cognitive and psychomotor abilities to support the fulfillment of life needs, (4) The ideal teacher in general is a person who has reached maturity marked by Satva character (stable and calm), ( 5) Learning strategies based on the use of meditation to improve concentration of learning, (6) There are 5 dimensions that must be developed in the educational process namely awareness, perception, cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
