Abstract

Background : The performance of health workers at Rumkitalmar Ewa Pangalila has not been optimal due to challenges in the utilization of technology and limitations in physical facilities that support hospital operations. Effective implementation of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) and adequate facilities are essential to improve operational efficiency and healthcare service quality. Objective : This study aims to analyze the effect of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) and physical facilities on the performance of health workers at Rumkitalmar Ewa Pangalila. Specifically, it examines the individual and simultaneous influence of SIMRS (X1) and facilities (X2) on health worker performance (Y). Methods : This study employed a quantitative research design with a positivistic approach. A simple random sampling technique was used to select 37 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires that underwent validity and reliability testing. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and classical assumption tests to determine the relationships among variables. Results : The findings revealed that SIMRS had a positive and significant effect on health worker performance (t = 4.736; p < 0.05). Facilities also showed a positive and significant influence on performance (t = 3.278; p < 0.05). Simultaneously, SIMRS and facilities significantly affected health worker performance (F = 41.681; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.710, indicating that 71% of the variation in health worker performance could be explained by SIMRS utilization and facilities. Conclusion : The study concludes that optimizing the use of SIMRS and improving hospital physical facilities are crucial for enhancing health worker performance. These improvements can increase operational efficiency and healthcare service quality, ultimately supporting the physical and mental readiness of marine soldiers. Therefore, continuous training for health personnel and the improvement and upgrading of hospital facilities are recommended.

Abstract

Background: Heart failure (HF) is a progressive condition associated with impaired functional capacity and reduced quality of life (QoL). In addition to pharmacological therapy, exercise-based interventions, including endurance and strength training, have been proposed as effective non-pharmacological strategies to improve outcomes. Objectives: This scoping review aimed to map the existing evidence on the impact of endurance and strength training on QoL in patients with HF, identify intervention characteristics, and highlight gaps for future research. Methods: A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane, and supplementary sources for studies published between January 2015 and September 2025. Eligible studies included randomized controlled trials, secondary analyses, and intervention reviews reporting QoL outcomes. Screening followed PRISMA-ScR guidelines, and data were extracted on study design, sample size, intervention type, and QoL measures. Results: Out of 1,060 identified records, six studies met inclusion criteria. Interventions included aerobic, resistance, and functional training programs. Most studies reported improvements in QoL, although results varied by exercise modality, patient characteristics, and measurement tools. Conclusions: Endurance and strength training appear to be safe and beneficial strategies to enhance QoL in HF patients. Standardization of protocols and long-term studies are needed to optimize clinical application.

Abstract

Background: Antibiotic resistance is one of the greatest global health threats of the 21st century, largely driven by irrational antibiotic use in communities and health-care settings. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the role of medical students in promoting rational antibiotic use and contributing to antibiotic resistance prevention efforts. Methods: This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling involving 15 medical students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation, then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to students’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding antibiotic use. Results: Most students demonstrated good conceptual understanding of antibiotic resistance, including its biological mechanisms and public health consequences. However, a gap remained between theoretical knowledge and clinical application. Student behavior was influenced by internal factors, such as knowledge, motivation, and professional ethics, as well as external factors, including clinical supervisors, academic culture, patient expectations, and institutional policies. Medical students also acted as agents of change through public education, community outreach, digital campaigns, and service-based learning activities. Conclusion: Medical education should strengthen integration between theory, clinical practice, antimicrobial stewardship, and community service to develop future physicians who are competent, ethical, and actively involved in preventing antibiotic resistance more effectively.
