Abstract

A good user experience supports libraries in providing search and delivery services that meet user expectations and needs. This study evaluates the user experience of the Universitas Indonesia Library (UI) website by employing the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and usability testing to ascertain how well it meets user expectations and needs. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, it gathers quantitative data from 287 respondents via UEQ and qualitative insights from usability testing involving 5 participants. The findings from the UEQ indicate generally positive user experiences across most dimensions, with the exception of Novelty, which falls below the average benchmark in terms of Attractiveness, Clarity, and Novelty. Despite the positive feedback in several areas, the overall user experience of the UI Library website is deemed inadequate, highlighting a significant need for enhancements in user experience design. The paper elaborates on design recommendations derived from both UEQ results and usability testing observations. These recommendations are intended to guide improvements in the website’s interface and functionality, ensuring it more effectively serves its academic audience. Further analysis of these recommendations is suggested to verify their appropriateness and potential impact on the user experience.

Abstract

The massive use of the Internet has a pretty significant impact on information-seeking behavior. That's why the public's need for information is increasing. It has an impact on information providers, especially libraries. A library must be able to adapt to the needs of users, especially in services and collections. In order to meet the needs of librarians, libraries use the interlibrary loan method, in which libraries cooperate with other libraries. The library can not only receive material but also supply the library's collection material. The aim of this research is to learn about the development of publications on interlibrary loans in libraries over the last 10 years (2013-2023) which includes key information, annual productions, core sources by Bradford’s Law, quotations, affiliations, trend topics, and authors. Using the "Web of Science" software, a quantitative approach based on bibliometric analysis is used to detect research progress. The results of the research show that the research publication Interlibrary Loan indexed Web of Science in 2013-2023 has 371 articles with 30 authors.

Abstract

One-stop administration services are one of the approaches designed to provide ease of access and integrated concepts to the various services offered. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of one-stop administrative services in the front office of the Unand Library by collecting the perception and satisfaction of service users using the Servqual method. This research is quantitative. The study's results were processed using a descriptive statistical method by examining the influence of respondents' demographics, such as gender, year of entry, and study level, on user satisfaction. The study's overall results show that the level of user satisfaction with one-stop administrative services at the Unand Library is very high. The hypothesis test indicates that the year of entry significantly affects user satisfaction. The average satisfaction of old students tends to be higher than new students. Meanwhile, gender and study level did not significantly affect user satisfaction. The high level of user satisfaction is one of the reasons for the considerable disparity between the current and previous service quality. In addition, users also highlighted the lack of service staff and internet network disruptions in the front office. Overall, it can be concluded that one-stop administration services contribute positively to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services in libraries, and service innovation is indispensable in libraries to increase user satisfaction.

Abstract

Ethics and copyright are significant topics within the context of libraries, as libraries play a crucial role as information regulators. This bibliometric study aims to identify research trends related to ethics and copyright in the library context from 2014 to 2024. Data were obtained from the Scopus database using the query term: "((TITLE-ABS-KEY (copyright AND compliance AND in AND libraries) OR TITLE-ABS-KEY (ethical considerations AND for AND librarians) OR TITLE-ABS-KEY (access to information AND copyright AND issues))", resulting in 195 documents analyzed using bibliometric tools like Scopus, Vosviewer, and R (Bibliometrix). The research findings indicate that discussions on ethics and copyright in libraries are prevalent in advanced countries with large populations like United States, India, Canada, and China. It is also observed that the number of publications on this topic has declined since 2014 through 2024. Key journals addressing this topic include Library and Philosophy Practice, PLOS One, and the International Journal of Communication System. Dominant keywords in this study encompass human aspects (human, male, female) and regulatory aspects (article, and copyright). Network mapping results show that keywords are divided into 4 main clusters: information processing cluster, academic library & information access cluster, control & copyright cluster, and management cluster

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and map bibliometrically the results of research in the Dimensions database on the effect of library policy on inclusive, fair and quality information access for the community. The method used is a bibliometric study by analyzing 125 research sources from the Dimensions database in the 2014-2023 time span. The analysis was conducted using Biblioshiny to map authors, sources, countries and dominant keywords. There are three categories of information access, namely Open access, Close access, and Closed and open access. The countries that published the most research were the United States and South Africa. Some of the dominant keywords are public libraries and academic libraries. The results of this study show that library policies have an influence in providing access to information for the public. There are challenges in implementing policies that support equal access, especially for minority groups and people with disabilities. This research trend focuses on public and academic libraries as the frontline in providing access to information for people from all walks of life. In conclusion, this research emphasizes the importance of developing dynamic and responsive library policies to address structural inequalities, improve accessibility and bridge the digital divide in accessing information.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the research dynamics related to the Application of Knowledge Sharing in the Public Sector. The study was conducted in December 2023 by searching the Scopus database with the keywords "knowledge sharing" and "public sector". The search results were analyzed and processed using the VOSViewer application program to identify the bibliometric map of the development of research in the field of knowledge sharing in the public sector. The results show that the number of research publications in the field of knowledge sharing in the public sector on Scopus from 2019 to 2023 has experienced a significant increase and has been most published in the VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems. Knowledge Sharing research in the Indonesian public sector is considered less popular. The most productive researcher in publishing research results is Sreejith Balasubramanian, affiliated with Middlesex University Dubai. Through network visualization, it shows that the research development map regarding knowledge sharing in the public sector is divided into 6 clusters. Cluster 1 consists of 15 topics, cluster 2 consists of 14 topics, cluster 3 consists of 12 topics, cluster 4 consists of 12 topics, cluster 5 consists of 10 topics, and cluster 6 consists of 5 topics. Research related to this topic in Indonesia is still focused on business, management, and accounting subjects in several institutions, with collaboration between researchers that needs to be improved.
