Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of the frequency of consuming junk food, intake of simple carbohydrates, physical activity and total cholesterol levels in Esa Unggul University employees. This type of research is observational with cross sectional research design. The total population of 400 respondents obtained the number of samples using stratified random sampling is as many as 60 respondents selected with respondents ranging from age 27-61 years. Data collected are frequency of consuming junk food using food frequency (FFQ) instruments for the past 1 month, physical activity using 2x24 hour Physical Activity Level (PAL) instrument form, simple carbohydrate intake using 2x24 hour food recall instrument and total cholesterol level using instrument check instrument digital cholesterol. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson correlation test. Average junk food consumption with a score (95.7 ± 64.96), physical activity (1.67 ± 0.21), intake of simple carbohydrates (77.64 ± 32.91) grams and total cholesterol levels (184, 7 ± 36.25) ml / dl. There was a relationship between consuming junk food (P = 0.0001; r = 0.454), intake of simple carbohydrates (P = 0.006; r = 0.349) and total cholesterol levels. However, there was no relationship between physical activity and total cholesterol levels (P = 0.167; r = -0.181). This study aims to determine the factors associated with menopausal complaints in the prolanis group at Aisyah Medical Center. This type of quantitative research uses a cross-sectional approach to determine factors associated with menopausal complaints in the prolanis group at Aisyah Medical Center (AMC). Data collection used a questionnaire. The population to be examined in this study was based on all prolanis data at the Aisyah Medical Center, totaling 30 elderly, and utilizing total sampling. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the chi-square test. This research was conducted in September 2022, and the research location was the Aisyah Medical Center. The analysis of the Chi-square test data obtained the results of the value of p = 0.004. There is a relationship between age at menopause and menopausal complaints, p value = 0.000. There is a relationship between education and menopausal complaints, p = 0.005. There is a relationship between work and menopausal complaints, and p = 0.035. There is a relationship between the use of hormonal contraceptives and menopausal complaints in prolanis women at Aisyah Medical Center (AMC). Hopefully, this will be useful and increase respondents' knowledge about the factors that can affect complaints during menopause. Abstract

A safe and effective dengue vaccine is not ready yet; therefore, dengue prevention is necessary to control the spread of this infection. Lowering dengue disease depends on controlling mosquitoes by reducing Aedes habitats counting with community participation. We studied community participation on habitat reduction for immature stages of Aedes aegypti in two urban communities of the Aragua State from May 2009 to November 2018. The sample consisted of 100 houses of one community and 400 houses of the other. Fisher´s exact test was used to compare the proportions of positive houses or containers through the study period. House index, container index, and Breteau Index were calculated. The data were analyzed using Minitab 20.4 statistical software. The research team initiated the approach to the communities by contacting some of their natural leaders in January 2009.  The methodological strategies included workshops, lectures, seminars, document and video reviews, practices, discussions, and knowledge sharing within and with the community. After six months of the intervention, a significant reduction in the Aedes larval indices was found in both communities and lasted for the entire study period. The intervention increased public consciousness and participation in dengue vector control measures in residential areas, and this behavior change was sustainable over time.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to predict positivity impact on mental health and overall health of adult students. Objective of study: To explore the relationship between adult positivity connection with mental health. Predict the relationship between positive behaviour and its impact on mental health in adults. Check significance gender difference of adult positivity as a predictor of better health and mental health. Research Design: In this study, a correlational research design was employed. Sampling Techniques: The sample was taken using by purposive sampling technique. Sample: The sample (N=200; 100 males, 100 females) of the study includes Government and private university students from the city of Faisalabad. Participants in the study ranged in age from 18 to 35 years old. Tool: A reliable tool of positivity, Rosenberg self-esteem, life satisfaction and BBC subjective well-being scales have used to measure the variables. Statistically analyse: The data have statistically analyse descriptive statistics, correlation, independent sample T-test, and regression run by using the SPSS software, to test the hypothesis of the study. Results: The Statistical Package for Social Sciences was used to analyse the data (SPSS, V 12.0). For the analysis, a significance level of 0.05, 0.01 was employed.

Abstract

Pityriasis versicolor (PV) is a chronic superficial fungal infection caused by Malassezia species. It is the most common dermatologic disorder in tropical countries including Ethiopia and skin discoloration is the principal morbidity resulting from pityriasis versicolor. Therefore, this study assess the prevalence and associated factors of PV among patients attending Dermatovenereology clinic at the University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialized Hospital. Hospital based cross sectional study design was employed. Systematic random sampling was used and a total of 406 participants who attended Dermatovenereology OPD were included in the study. Data were collected by interview and physical examination. Then it was checked, coded, entered into Epi-Info version 7 and analyzed using Stata version 14. Both bivariable and multivariable logistic regression were employed to identify factors associated with PV. Adjusted odds ratio with their corresponding 95% CI and P-value were calculated. A P-value less than 0.05 was used to declare statistically significant variables. The overall magnitude of PV among patients attending Dermatovenereology OPD at the UGCSH was 12.6% (95%CI; 9.2%, 15.0%).Those who had a diploma and above education  [AOR: 95% CI; 4.67 (1.18, 18.47)], excessive sweating [AOR: 95% CI; 4.75 ( 1.92, 8.76)] being male [AOR: 95%CI; 4.19 (1.92, 9.14)], practicing regular exercise [AOR: 95% CI;  4.11 (1.93, 8.76)] and wearing heavy clothes [AOR: 95% CI; 2.53 (1.24, 5.15)] were found to be statistically significantly associated with PV. This study found that the magnitude of Pityriasis versicolor was relatively lower. The study revealed that educational status (diploma and above), male gender, habit of regular exercise, excessive sweating and wearing heavy cloths were significantly associated with Pityriasis Versicolor. It is recommended that high risk patients receive close follow up and health professionals should provide health education sessions in waiting rooms about the identified risk factors.
