Abstract

This study aimed to test the speed of spawning and the number of fertilized eggs at the parent catfish (Clarias sp) post-induction laserpuncture and ovaprim. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology, University of PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. The experimental design used was completely randomized design. The study consisted of three treatments, induction laserpuncture in reproductive acupoint precisely at 2/3 of the ventral body for 15 seconds, giving ovaprim 0.4 ml/kg body weight and control (without induction laserpuncture and without giving ovaprim), each repeated six times. Total catfish male parent used as many as 18 heads and parent female catfish as many as 18 heads of all the conditions are ripe gonads. Number of pools that use a total of 18 pools (for spawning catfish). The data collected is spawning catfish speed and the number of fertilized eggs. The results showed that the induction of laserpuncture precisely at 2/3 the ventral body for 15 seconds reproductive acupoint fastest spawning effect and eggs fertilization hight significant than ovaprim and control. Abstract

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L) is member of family Punicaeae having etnopharmacological history. In Indonesia, there are three cultivars: red, white and black. Methanol extract of pomegranate have antioxidant activity. This research was intended to identifying its anatomy (stem, leaf, anther, peel and seed). Sample of the three pomegranate cultivars were obtained from the Surabaya agricultural Service. Specimen was made using paraffin shielding method with single staining. The result was descriptive data. The results indicated different anatomic structure on peel of the three cultivars. In exocarp layers black pomegranate has five sclerenchyma layers while red and white pomegranate has four sclerenchyma layers. About stem, leaf, anther and seed, there is no anatomic difference, but there is variation in shape and size. Keywords: Punica granatum L, Anatomy

Abstract

Kefir goat milk is fermentation beverage produced by goat milk which had been pasteurization then continued with fermentation used cultur kefir which consist of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Streptococcus lactis and Sacaromyces cereviseae. This research ought to know influence of incubation time and kind of inoculum of quality of kefir goat milk including physical and microbiology qualities. This research factorial design (5x3) are used two way anova and friedman statystic (α=0,05). Result of this research showed that incubation time and kind of inoculums had been influence towards to the chemistry qualities are lactate acid and protein content of kefir goat milk. Incubation time had been influence toward to pH and alcohol content kefir goat milk. While kind of inoculum had not been influence toward to pH and alcohol content kefir goat milk. Incubation time 12 hours with Lactobacillus acidophilus and Streptococcus lactis to produce the best quality of kefir goat milk. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of starch duckweeds (Salvinia molesta) on performance of egg production and feed efficiency quail (Cortunix-cortunix japonica) study was conducted in the village of quail farms Tenaru, District Driyorejo, Gresik for 30 days. The study was conducted experimentally by using a completely randomized design with 6 treatments (0%; 2.5%; 5%; 7.5%; 10%; 12.5% ​​formulation duckweeds flour in the ration, four replications and each replication contained three tails. The results showed that administration duckweeds flour in various formulations of feed rations had no significant effect on the productivity of quail eggs (P> 0.05), but significant effect (P <0.05) on feed intake, feed conversion and feed efficiency quail. Giving duckweeds flour to dose 12.5% ​​increased feed intake amounting to 28.99 grams /quail, feed conversion by 3.08 units, but lower the feed efficiency of 30.14%. Thus the results of research, administration kiambang flour in feed rations are not recommended in livestock quail. Abstract

This study on the effect of bioinsektisida lime peel to the death of pests armyworm (Spodoptera litura) and biomass plants green cabbage which aims to determine the effect of the death of armyworm (Spodoptera litura) and biomass plants green cabbage, in addition to providing information to farmers to take advantage of natural ingredients, namely lime peel. Lime peel contains limonene that can be used as a biopesticide. Limonene is a poison that spreads to the nervous tissue, which causes paralysis (paralysis) and will eventually die. This study is based on a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments 6 replications with 192 samples armyworms and 24 of mustard. Methods of data analysis in this research is test Annova and continued to LSD. This study was made with a concentration of 0%, 3%, 6% and 9%. Lemon peel extract obtained by maceration for 3 days using 96% alcohol. The treatment of lime peel extract by spraying 1ml / 100ml. Results showed no effect of lime peel extract biopesticide against armyworm pest mortality, at a concentration of 9% showed a significant number of deaths. Abstract

Has conducted research to determine the influence of Afrika Leaf Extract (Vernonia amygdalina delile) and Binahong Leaf Extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) against Staphylococcus aureus growth inhibition zone. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Afrika leaf extract (Vernonia amygdalina delile) and leaves Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) against Staphylococcus aureus growth inhibition zone. The material used in this study is the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, variations in the concentration of leaves and leaf binahong Afrika. The method used in this research is the diffusion disc with a completely randomized design (4 treatments 6 replications). Leaves Afrika have active compounds are efficacious as antibacterials are flavonoids, tannins, saponins and terpenoids. Binahong Leaf Extract has antibacterial compounds are flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids and essential oils. The results showed that the leaf and leaf afrika binahong with concentrations of 0%, 40%, 60% and 80%. Has an influence on the growth inhibition zone of Staphylococcus aureus. Abstract

Laserpuncture exposure at the reproductive acupoint of broodstock catfishes female shown to speed maturation of the gonads. To accelerate the gonadal maturation broodstock catfish due to exposure needed laserpuncture adequate feed, especially protein content results. if laserpuncture exposure is not balanced feeding containing adequate protein, the lower quality of eggs produced. The purpose of this study to examine whether time, the level of protein in the feed and laserpuncture exposure broodstock catfish female can increase the value of GSI. RAK experimental study using a 3x5x2 factorial pattern was repeated 3 times. Factor 1 is the feed protein level of 30%, 35%, and 40%. Factor 2 is pre-spawning time, weeks 0, 3rd, 6th and 9th. Factor 3 is laserpuncture exposure and control. To get the value of GSI by weighing the weight and gonads. The sample used in this study broodstock catfish 1-year-old female with a weight range from 1100 to 1400 grams have never spawned. GSI value analysis using ANOVA Gen Stat program version 15. Results showed laserpuncture exposure at the reproduction acupoint of which is offset by the provision of feed protein level of 30%, 35% and 40% and the length of time proved to have a significant effect (P <0.05) increase in value GSI. The length of time, giving the feed protein level of 30% and laserpuncture exposure proved effective to increase the value of GSI, gonad maturation time can be accelerated three weeks compared to the control group. Abstract

Penelitian ini pembuatan biji bunga matahari dengan menggunakan sentrifugasi dengan melakukan perendaman biji bunga matahari dengan berbagai variasi perlakuan. Pada hasil rendaman dengan perbandingan 1:5 tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan (P>0,05) dengan lama waktu menggunakan sentrifugasi. Sedangkan perlakuan dengan perbandingan 1:10 berpengaruh secara signifikan (P<0,05) dengan lama waktu menggunakan sentrifugasi. Sentrifugasi menggunakan perlakuan waktu perputaran 5,10,15,20, dan 25 menit dengan perputaran 1000, 2000 dan 3000 rpm. Hasil penelitian ini semakin tinggi perputaran dan waktu perputaran maka akan berpengaruh terhadap pemisahan biji bunga matahari. Kata kunci : Minyak biji bunga matahari, Sentrifugasi
