Since the Islamic resurgence in early 1970s, there has been a great deal of interest in the ontology of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its consistency with Islam. Ever since its foundation, the notion of human rights have long been the source of continuous contention between modern Muslim and Western intelligentsia. This paper begins with a brief introduction of Islam and the concept of human rights. The primary focus of the paper is to present a better understanding of Islamic law concerning with human rights and to examine the difference between the secular human rights and Islamic human rights. The paper will argue that the human rights in Muslim world have always been explicitly grounded in religious terms. Moreover, the paper also aims to highlight and understand the rationale why Muslim countries in particular are reluctant to accept or ratify the international covenant on human rights. Notwithstanding that, the purpose of this paper is threefold; (1) to present the human rights concept in Islam; (2) to highlight major differences between the principles of Islamic law and modern human rights notion; (3) to present the rationale behind the major disparities between Islam and the established standard of human rights.

This discourse analysis is aimed to investigate the what sorts of speech acts have illocutionary power in constructing academic discussions and the ways speech acts such as disagreements framed and organized such as in turn-taking in oral academic discussions and how face threatening and maintaining self- mage are conceptualized. This includes thirty minutes conversation between the instructor and her students in a classroom setting. The nature of interaction from the verbal exchanges in academic discussions were examined, analyzed and clarified based on the Speech Act Theory of Austin and Searle, Frame Theory of Goffman and Tannen and lastly, Politeness Theory of Brown and Levinson. The results showed that the sorts of speech acts have illocutionary power in constructing academic discussions and there are ways that speech acts such as disagreements are framed and organized such as in turn-taking in oral academic discussions in order to maintain the social image of the participants of conversation. Verbal interaction at discussions has its way in maintaining the face-work like threatening and displaying positive image. The aspects of face as basic wants are composed of negative and positive faces are applied to acts threatening positive or negative face, and the three variables are - power, social distance and imposition can be applied in just a small segment of conversation. It was revealed that keying’ which consists of an “openly admitted” transformation of untransformed activity and concerns a systematic reworking of

The Recent Technology in banking has become even more evident in recent years, as phone, online and mobile banking has revolutionize the way we take care of our finances. In fact, one might argue that the impact of technology in the banking sector has meant that we now have no excuse for being overdrawn or not paying credit card bills on time. In previous generations, the only way to find out how much money you had in the bank was to keep a detailed log book or pay a visit to your local branch and ask the teller to check the ledger for you. Then along came the innovation known as the ATM machine, which allowed us to withdraw cash from hundreds of convenient locations and check our balance while we were at it. Nowadays, with mobile banking apps it’s possible to check your balance any time any place. So before you splash out on a new stereo or home entertainment system you can check your account then and there just to be sure you can afford it. Another one of the Advantages of technology in banking is that it allows us to pay bills quickly and without physical visit. We can arrange to have them paid by direct debit every month at a time that suits us, or we can make one off transfers as and when the bills come in. This means that there’s no longer any need to pay a physical visit to your branch to pay bills and it also means we are more likely to pay them on time. People who find it more difficult to manage their money can arrange for as many bills as possible to be paid just after their salary clears their account so that they know the essentials are covered before they can spend on luxuries. In this paper has been made an attempt on “Technology adoption in Indian Banking Sector.

This paper aims to study Ian McEwan’s presentation of the world as a dystopian social space. McEwan paints an ugly picture of the present times and gives a warning to contemporary society against the inhuman cruelties that rock it every moment. The present world confronts alienation, anxiety, fear and death etc. on a daily basis and the fundamental role is played by fiction in expressing such experiences. The novels of McEwan present a bleak and dystopian picture before the readers as the things are going in a horrible direction. It can be inferred that McEwan is trying to bring home the idea of destruction and other mishappenings which have taken a toll on the world and thereby giving a message to the people to act before it is too late.

Standard Costing and variance analysis are a set of management accounting tools that assist industries in controlling the cost of production. It involved the establishment of a cost standard that is required, and the standard cost was applied for comparison to the product’s actual cost. This article aimed to critically explore and assess the applicability of using standard costing and variance analysis as management accounting tools in today's varied worldwide industries. By compiling the findings from various scholars and researchers, this article primarily examines what standard costing methods and variance analysis are, as well as their advantages, limitations, and usefulness. Moreover, the proposed research framework on the motivation of industries in standard costing technique adoption and recommendations were added for future research purposes in this article. As a result, the article successfully concluded that standard costing techniques and variance analysis were relevant and crucial management accounting tools for industries today.

Urbanization is a driving force behind habitat destruction and has a dramatic impact on ant richness and composition. This ecological and taxonomic study of urban ants generally focused on identifying species richness in different urban habitat types using DNA barcoding techniques. 17 species of ants collected from Manila, Philippines were sequenced and barcoded for a 600 – 700 range bp region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 gene (CO1). The AT content in the DNA of 16 ant species was estimated at 68.5%, which is following invertebrates. The distance within species was calculated using the Kimura 2-parameter (K2P) and it was 0.244, 0.168, and 0.331% for mean, minimum, and maximum, respectively. The phylogeny tree constructed using the N-J method also revealed two clusters. The first cluster consisted of three sub-clades representing four subfamilies: Myrmicinae, Ponerinae, while Pseudomyrmicinae, and Dolichoderinae are within the same sub-clade but with different sub-group. The second cluster is formed by the sub-clades of the Formicinae subfamily, which is not in contradiction with the cladistics analysis of morphological data for ants and is consistent with the traditional phylogeny. The results demonstrate that DNA barcoding is an additional tool for providing pertinent information for the systematist for quick and reliable identification of urban ants.

This study examined the effect of interest rate and savings on industrial productivity in Nigeria. This is imperative because there has been low level of savings and investment amongst other impediment to industrial productivity. The Ordinary Least Square OLS multiple regression analysis was applied on data from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin in a model where industrial sector output was the dependent variable while national savings, interest rate INTR and inflation rate INFL were the explanatory variables. The result of the analysis at 5% level of significance shows clearly that savings exerts a significant impact on industrial output in Nigeria. the result also showed that interest rate and inflation rate does not have a significant impact on industrial output in Nigeria. The study concluded that, savings has a significant positive impact on industrial output while the impact of interest rate and inflation rate on industrial output in Nigeria was positive but insignificant. It was recommended that there is a need to bridge the widening gap between lending rate and savings rate to encourage savings to generate needed loanable funds for investment in Nigeria.
