Abstract

Ferroresonance is an interaction phenomenon between non-linear inductance and capacitance that initiates abnormal waveform of current and voltage. This phenomenon is very sensitive to system parameter and initial condition. In this paper, ferroresonance initiation involved a basic circuit of series ferroresonance with variation of source voltage magnitude on a single phase low voltage transformer. The scheme of experiment was based on the case of transformer energizing. The trends of current and voltage waveform on the primary windings were investigated and transformed by using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The harmonics spectrum was then employed to identify the feroresonance mode and calculate the Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) of current and voltage. The experimental results showed that the higher source voltage magnitude caused the ferroresonance responses to be seen more clearly. It was indicated by the more distorted waveform, the higher odd harmonics frequency amplitude especially for 150 Hz, and the greater THD. Based on the harmonics spectrum and wave period, the ferroresonance responses were identified as fundamental mode. The effects of initial conditions, such as residual flux of transformer and capacitor charge, were also seen on the distorted wave peak during transient condition. In addition, the difference of waveform between normal and ferroresonance condition could be more easily observed on the voltage than the current. The waveforms of current and voltage during experiment had been verified by using simulation.

Abstract

PT. Bank Central Asia (BCA) is the biggest private bank in Indonesia. It always offers various banking solutions which address customers’ financial needs. Through various high quality and targeted products and services, BCA financial solution supports personal financial planning and customers’ business development. KlikBCA Individual (KBI) is one of the services that BCA offers to enable customers have practical, safe, and easy banking transaction. Therefore, a thorough measurement of Information System (IS)/Information Technology (IT) application performance from several aspects toward this innovation is needed. It measures how good the service is for both company and customers. The methodology used in this research is IT Balanced Scorecard. The result shows that the highest perspective is the company contribution as much as 19.33%, followed by the future perspective as much as 19%, the user orientation perspective as much as 18.8%, and the last is operationalization perspective as much as 14.58%. The final result is 71.71%, which indicates that it has reached a good level.

Abstract

Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) quality is influenced by several factors. The most fundamental factor is quantity of corpus used as base material for building translational and language model in SMT. Quantity of corpus is a major factor in ensuring quality of the translation, but quality of corpus can not be ignored either. Checking the source and translation sentences manually in a parallel corpus of course will be very difficult and require a lot of resources. This paper reports the experimental results using a quality improvement strategy of Indonesian-Malay and Indonesia-Javanesse corpus without having to examine and correct the sentences that exist on the corpus. The filter used is the minimum value of each sentence tested by the Bilingual Evaluation Understudy (BLEU) method. Experimental results show that parallel corpus optimization can improve the level of accuracy of Indonesian-Malay translation by 6.97%and Indonesian-Javanesse translation by 5.55%.

Abstract

Rendering is a stage to turn a model into a 3D animated video form. Rendering process takes a long time and requires hardware support with high specifications. Unfortunately, computers for rendering purpose with high specifications are generally very expensive. An alternative solution to this problem is to utilize grid computing technology that can take advantage of some ordinary computers configured in the network. Together, those computers can help complete rendering process more quickly. In this paper, the rendering solution is achieved by combining the grid computing technology-based framework, called JPPF, that can be integrated using Blender 3D. Blender 3D is one of the common software used in making animated films. In this paper, the solution result is also compared with the one from the network-based rendering feature of the Blender 3D, called Network Rendering, as a performance benchmark. The comparison results show that this alternative solution works with relatively better performance and flexibility and is easier to operate than the features provided in 3D Blender.

Abstract

Besides specification and price, smartphone reviews can affect on consumer interest buying. This study aims to use the value of smartphone review sentiment as one of the attributes/criterias in addition to specifications and prices on the calculation of Decision Support System using MOORA method to generate smartphone recommendations. Sentiment value is obtained from sentiment analysis using SentiWordNet. There are two approaches of MOORA method used in this research, Ratio System and Reference Point Approach. Testing has been done by comparing the results of smartphone recommendations between approaches on the MOORA method, with or without sentiment analysis, on smartphone rankings based on the number of smartphone fans on the GSM Arena site. The test results show that the method of MOORA with Ratio System approach without sentiment analysis has the best accuracy among other approaches.

Abstract

This paper aims to develop a mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) application for English intensive course (EIC) using user centered design method. This method consists of four steps: 1) specify context of use; 2) specify user and organizational requirements; 3) produce design solution; and 4) evaluate design against user. The result shows that users (students) feel that the MALL application can help the students to study and comprehend the EIC material. Students can use the MALL application for self-study, inside and outside the classroom, whether in idle or mobile. For the lecturers, the MALL application is very helpful in teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Liver is one of the most important organs in the human body. One of the dangerous diseases of the liver is tumor. In the CT scan image, the tumor has different texture, color, shape, and position, according to patient's condition. In this study, a tumor detection was carried out by tree stages: firstly some steps of preprocessing, such as filtering, edge detection, and erotion; secondly, finding the liver among organs in abdomen using segmentation and checking the liver position in the right abdomen; and thirdly performing the tumor detection in the liver using graph cut and push relabel algorithm. Usually, segmentation using graph cut needs two interactive inputs, namely sample of object area and sample of background area. In this paper, the interactive inputs on graph cut were replaced by deviation standard calculation. Testing using three sets of CT image and the ground truth produces average of the dice similarity coefficient (DSC), volumetric overlap error (VOE), and absolute volume difference (AVD) parameters of 78.15%, 25.72%, 19.30%, respectively. Furthermore, volume of liver tumor is approximated by utilizing area of tumor in each slice of CT image, then displayed in 3D view.

Abstract

Most applications require users to enter a password in order to use those applications. One type of the passwords used on smartphones is based on certain line pattern. The pattern of lines that make up the password is essentially an image similar to a sequence of numbers arranged in a particular order. Just when users need to memorize a series of numbers, "memorizing" the line pattern also gives cognitive load to certain level. This study observed the cognitive load experienced by users when they were using line pattern-based password as compared to numeric-based password. The research method employed in this study was a scenario-based experiment followed by a survey to self-report the cognitive load experienced by the user after they run the scenario. Cognitive load experienced by users were reported by users themselves. The subjects of the study were 67 undergraduate and master students. They were voluntarily participated in this research. The result obtained from this study indicated that the cognitive load experienced by users when they used the pattern of the line based password was smaller than the number-based password.

Abstract

Tengkawang or known as Borneo tallow nut is now difficult to find due to unsustainable forestry practices and high levels of forest destruction. The method used in this research was pattern recognition. The process of identifying Tengkawang plants was carried out through this process: image acquisition, image cutting and background removal of tengkawang leaf image, RGB image conversion of tengkawang leaf into gray scale, threshold limit determination with certain value, feature extraction with GLCM method (spatial distance 1, 2, and 3 pixels), and morphology, so the pattern of Tengkawang leaf image could be obtained. The image pattern was classified using Back Propagation Neural Network algorithm. The output is a software for identifying the types of tengkawang leaf. The results of identification testing of non-tengkawang leaf species show that using a total of 16 random samples of test images, an accuracy of 87.5% is obtained. The identification rate of tengkawang leaf image with spatial distance of 1, 2, and 3 pixels from total 24 random sample of test image shows 100% accuracy level. Training with 2 pixel spatial spacing has the lowest iteration, i.e. 10 iterations. The result of identifying damaged tengkawang leaf image on the edge has an effect on the extraction of morphological characteristics.

Abstract

Currently, fish measurement process is done manually using the gauge which can cause inappropriate, ineffective result, and requires long time to finish, especially for a great amount of fish. Therefore, an automatic fish body measurement technique in the form of estimation of length, width, and height of fish based on visual capture is needed to facilitate fish body measurement to become more effective and efficient. This research uses five samples of fish in measuring length, width, and height manually to obtain the average data/value as the calibration of reference value for calculation process in the system and to be stored in the database. The stages begin with capturing fish image using a digital camera. Then, preprocessing stage was carried out to get the grayscale image of the fish. The object of the grayscale image was then segmented to separate the important and unimportant part of the object. Lastly, feature extraction process of the fish body from the calibration average value was carried out, and the estimated value of length, width, and height of fish are obtained automatically. The results show that the automatic measurement technique of fish body based on visual capture was able to produce the truth degree of accuracy of 80% to 95%.
