Abstract

Abstract: Technological developments also affect the progress and motivation to read the book. One technology developed in the field of electronics is an effort to increase interest in reading. With the tool Design Building Page Flipper Automatic Book Using Microcontroller ATmega328P then can make an alternative to open the book sheet. In addition, this tool is also appropriately utilized by people with special needs or have physical limitations (hand disability). With this tool can make it easier for someone to read a book because it is designed using an automated system. The automatic book page flipper tool uses an ATmega328P Microcontroller 4 servo motors where the servo motor 1 moves 100° to lower the lever on the drive wheel with a time delay of 1 second along with the operation of servo 2 which is marked by the movement of the wheel rotating 100° so that the book sheet or file is slightly attracted by the 1 second delay, then servo 3 moves which functions as a hold for the book or file sheet with a 100° movement, with a time delay of 1 second and servo 4 moves 180° as the thrower of the book sheet or file. And the sound sensor functions to give commands to the ATmega328P microcontroller which will later give orders to the ATmega 328P microcontroller which will later drive all the servo motors when getting commands.   Keywords: Microcontroller, sensor, servo motor

Abstract

Fire is something that occurs as a result of a fire that is not handled properly and quickly. This incident is very dangerous considering the potential to cause material losses and loss of life. Various fire detection systems have been developed to detect and prevent fires. So far, many kinds of research on fire detection use fire and smoke sensors, and others, but that alone is not enough. It takes a tool that can detect a fire at the same time and know-how the conditions are when a fire occurs. With the development of technology, the use of computer vision is used to detect fires in real-time. Besides being able to detect fires, the system can also provide an overview of the current state of the fire through the camera. In this study, a computer vision-based fire detection was designed. Where it uses the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm to detect fires and is accompanied by telegram notifications and buzzers. In the fire detection test, 4 different fire sources were used, namely small torch candles, large torches, and coconut fiber. From the test data for fire detection in various backgrounds, the accuracy value is 0.8, precision is 1 and recall is 0.8 during the day. While at night, the accuracy is 0.96, precision is 1 and recall is 0.96. The level of accuracy and recall values ​​in testing various distances results in a fire detection system that will decrease as the distance between the fire and the camera is far away. The precision value produces a value of 1 at various distances during the day and night. That means the accuracy of the classification results is 100%. The stable precision value is influenced by fire detection readings, where the system never detects other objects as fire.

Abstract

This automatic water filling and bottle closing system can usually be used in the industrial world, because it can facilitate and save processing time. For this reason, an automatic water filling machine was made to produce packaged drinks that are practical and easy to obtain. In this machine, there are components that play an important role in the operation of this automatic machine, including the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which is a control device that can be programmed logically, accepts input, and provides output. In the manufacture of this automatic water filling and bottle closing device, 4 sensors and 1 limit switch are used, each sensor has its own function. The 4 (four) sensors include: conveyor sensor, rotation sensor, bottle closing sensor and reset sensor. The limit switch on this tool functions as a stop motor rotation when the bottle is closed. After several experiments, it took 13 seconds to fill a bottle with a capacity of 600 ml.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance and energy consumption of the freezer machine for mobile ice cream sellers using the environmentally friendly MC134 refrigerant with a compressor capacity of 1/10 HP. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The size of the capillary tube is determined using the Cap Tube 1.0.8.0 application program. The evaporator used is a bare tube type that is wrapped around an ice cream box. The test is carried out by measuring the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant, the temperature in the ice cream box, as well as the electric current and voltage in the system. The results of the analysis of performance and energy consumption will also be compared if the system uses HFC134a refrigerant. From the test results obtained the optimum mass that is filled into the system for MC134 refrigerant is 155 grams and the optimum mass for 134a refrigerant is 202 grams. The use of MC134 refrigerant is more efficient by 23.3%. The COP for MC134 refrigerant is 3.1 while the COP for 134a refrigerant is 2.7. The energy consumption for MC134 is 67.8 kJ while for R134a is 83 kJ.

Abstract

One of the important goals of tool or machine maintenance is to ensure the safety of tools and operators and users. Besides other economic goals such as extending the service life so as to increase the productivity of the tool or machine. Proper maintenance of tools or machines needs to be carried out, especially maintenance of means of transportation or transportation, both land, sea and air transportation, which can involve the safety of people and the environment at large. This research raises the problem; why and how urgent maintenance is needed on the engine lubrication system of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter. This maintenance was carried out jointly by the technicians of the Urban Air company and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bali State Polytechnic who carried out field work practices (PKL), at PT. Urban Air Indonesia, Badung, Bali. The aims of this research are; can find the cause of a warning in the engine lubricating system known as a pope out, and can carry out appropriate maintenance according to standard procedures from the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter manufacturer. The result; maintenance was carried out according to standard procedures according to Alert Service Bulletin or ASB 506. 21 – 22 pig 1 of 5, and chips were found in the aircraft engine lubrication system oil filter. The metal flakes impede the flow of lubricating oil, so that the oil flows through the bypass pipe which causes the lubricating system pressure to rise. Then press the safety bolt which causes a pope out warning. Thus, the maintenance of the aircraft engine lubrication system can be completed within two days, and the aircraft can be operated properly and safely again.

Abstract

Thermal energy storage based on phase change material (PCM) as an energy storage material is considered a promising technology to meet future energy needs due to its low cost and high storage capacity under isothermal conditions. Thermal energy storage is an inevitable component of intermittent use of renewable energy technology, due to its significant role in improving efficiency and Quality of Service (QoS). At present, one of the main researchers in such systems is to improve the efficiency of heat exchangers and heat carriers. Therefore, studying the thermal behaviour and thermophysical properties of heat storage is very important. Supercooling is a thermophysical property of PCM that is problematic in thermal storage applications and is a challenge in technical applications. Supercooling of phase change materials (PCM) during the process of changing from liquid to solid is a major problem in thermal energy storage, which reduces energy efficiency and exacerbates energy wastage. This study focuses on the supercooling characteristics of PCM under heterogeneous nucleation, which provides a new idea to investigate the effect of nucleating agents on the supercooling rate of aqueous solutions. Understanding, predicting and, where possible, preventing, or at least reducing, supercooling is of particular importance for latent heat thermal energy storage systems, as the temperature differences within them must be small to achieve higher efficiencies. Water is the most popular PCM today, because it has good characteristics, but has a weakness, namely high supercooling. Various methods have been sought and developed to control the behaviour of supercooling fluids. The most economical and efficient method for reducing or eliminating supercooling is the addition of a nucleating agent. Various PCM samples, namely propylene glycol solution in water, were made in various percentages (10/90, 20/80 and 30/70) with the aim of reducing supercooling of water. The samples made were tested by the T-history method. The results showed that the water supercooling decreased with the increase in the percentage of propylene glycol solution in water, from 10 degrees to 6, 4, 2 degrees respectively, making it suitable for cooling applications.

Abstract

In the process of implementing a looping low-voltage network. In this study, the author analyzes the application looping of low-voltage networks in premium bronze customers which is applied to the DB0575 and DB0292 substations. There are several things that are analyzed in this study, namely transformer loading, voltage drop, loading of KHA, analysis of the best networks, and protection of NH Fuse. This research uses software in simulating the application looping of low-voltage networks. Transformer loading before the application of looping low voltage networks on DB0575 and DB0292 are 28.2% and 48.95% while after the application of looping of low-voltage networks are 28.2% and 51.9%. The smallest value of voltage drop and loading of KHA are resulted in the 1st direction at the DB0575 substation with a value of 1.17% and 7.08% and the 4th direction at the DB0292 substation with a value of 0.73% and 17.91%, And the recommended protection rating for the DB0575 substation after the application is using the NH Fuse 'gG' rated current 200 A with a maximum voltage of 690 V and a rated breaking capacity of 50 kA as a protection system on low voltage distribution panel for a 3-phase 250 kVA 2-way distribution transformer. Meanwhile, the DB0292 substation uses an NH Fuse 'gG' rated current 125 A with a maximum voltage of 690 V and a rated breaking capacity of 50 kA as a protection system on low voltage distribution panel for a 3-phase 315 kVA 4-way distribution transformer.

Abstract

Evaporative cooling works by sucking air from the environment, then the air is in contact with a pad that is dripping with water on the front side of the blower/fan. Water soaks the pad at the top and the rest of these droplets will fall into the water tank below. Water is circulated from the water tank to the top of the pad with the help of a pump. The cold air coming out of the pad will be blown by the blower/fan into the environment, and the cooling process takes place. Data collection was carried out to obtain the performance of the Evaporative Cooling system made from zeolite by measuring the temperature and RH of the air at several positions, namely outside the conditioned room, after passing through the pad and in the conditioned room. Also recorded is air flow velocity, voltage and current from fans and pumps. Two different water distribution conditions were carried out, namely with the spray pad method and the soaked pad method. Data were collected every 10 minutes for 8 hours. Data were collected for 5 consecutive days. The EC system is an alternative air conditioning system that is environmentally friendly and low energy use. Using a cooling pad material that is environmentally friendly and has the ability to stay wet will make the EC system operate properly. The use of zeolite as a cooling pad material with the ability to absorb and store water is a cooling pad material that needs to be considered. It is still necessary to continue to improve the dimensions and pore structure of the zeolite cooling pad in order to improve the water absorption and storage process.
