Abstract

With increasing the security treat and terrorisms that involving the use of firearm and to optimize the security thenmaximum protection for he safety of the security guards, armies, and polices should be put in consideration. In order toconduct their duties properly and to protect their safety, the security guard should be completed with bulletproof body armor.Since the price of commercial bulletproof body armors is very expensive that only special force is possible to have it. It is thepurpose of this research to develop material for bulletproof body armor with reasonable price but having good performancethat can be used by security guard. In this research the SiCp was pressed in order to have a diameter surface in the 11.5cmand high 1 cm mould. Afterward the mixture of polyester and carbon fiber was poured in to the mold until reach 1 cmthickness. The natural cooling was done naturally for about 24 hours with addition of catalyst to solidify the composite. Theballistic test performance will be conducted with cooperation with the institution that has authority for this activity, and theresult will be analyzed and reported.

Abstract

Sayur bayam merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang cukup potensial di Indonesia. Namun demikian, seperti halnya produk hortikultura lainnya, sayur bayam memiliki sifat yang mudah mengalami kerusakan sehingga umur simpannya relatif pendek dan jangkauan distribusi pemasarannya terbatas. Pendinginan dan pengkabutan air merupakan salah satu cara untuk dapat mengantisipasi kerusakan sayur bayam, sehingga memiliki umur simpan yang lebih lama. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan sayur bayam dalam refrigerator dengan proses pendinginan dibandingkan dengan porses pendingian dan penambahan pengkabutan air. Penelitian refrigerator proses pendinginan terhadap refrigerator hasil modifikasi dengan penambahan pengkabutan air dilakukan dalam skala laboratorium. Faktor yang ditelaah meliputi waktu, suhu dan kelembaban lamanya penyimpanan dalam refrigerator dengan proses pendinginan selama 3 hari sayur mengalami kelayuan dan rusak. Dengan menggunakan refrigerator hasil modifikasi untuk menambahkan proses pendinginan dan penambahan pengkabutan air meliputi waktu, suhu dan kelembaban selama 5 hari sayur bayam mengalami kelayuan dan rusak. Kata Kunci : Sayur Bayam, Refrigerator, Pendinginan dan Pengkabutan air.

Abstract

An injection system is a process of burning fuel on an internal combustion engine by using an electronic system to inject fuel with air into the combustion chamber. The carburetor system uses a nozzle to blur the fuel mixture with the combustor air. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the value of fuel consumption from the injection system with the carburetor system. This research was conducted by the experimental method. The results of the analysis showed that the average value of fuel consumption even with the injection system was 51.53ml, while the mean value of the carburetor system was 90.40 ml, this meant that the injection system was more efficient compared to the carburetor system of 44.89 ml or 47%. Conclusion injection system at any rotation is more economical than the carburetor system. It is recommended to conduct further research by taking real data that is distance and travel time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pemasangan pipa penghubung indoor dan outdor AC Split yangmerupakan alat untuk membantu sirkulasi bahan pendingin /refrigeran, antara indoor dan outdoor oleh teknisi tokopenjual AC split. Penyediaan pipa dari pabrik dan toko penjual hanya 5 meter akan tetapi kenyataan di lapanganpemasangan melebihi dari 5 meter. Selain pemasangan pipa dari indoor ke outdoor AC split yang lebih dari 5meter oleh beberapa teknisi toko tidak diperlengkapi dengan alat vacum, tang amper dan charging manifoldsehingga hasilnya hanya berdasarkan perkiraan pemakaian jumlah refrigeran, tekanan, arus listrik dan temperatur.Kondisi penambahan panjang pipa ini menyebabkan tekanan refrigeran dan arus akan berkurang sehingga kerja dariAC split tidak bekerja dengan baik. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian dengan variasi panjang pipa antara indoor danoutdoor 5 – 10 meter tanpa penambahan refrigeran dan dengan penambahan refrigeran. Hasil penelitian ini adalahCoefisien Of Performance (COP) tipe (1) panjang 6 meter 5,2 dan panjang 10 meter 3,9 untuk tipe (2) panjang 6meter 5,4 dan panjang 10 meter 4,13. Daya listrik yang diperlukan kompresor (watt) untuk tipe (1) panjang pipa 6meter 1476,5 watt dan panjang 10 meter 1559,3 watt untuk tipe (2) panjang pipa 6 meter 1601,1 watt dan panjang 10meter 1677,1 watt.

Abstract

Experimental studies on Fan Coil Unit (FCU) were conducted to investigate heat transfer characteristics due to the addition of Al2O3 nanoparticles. The aims of this study was to reveal the phenomenon of nanofluid particle influences on heat transfer performance indicators. This investigation used tube and fin FCU type with cold fluid is water-Al2O3 nanofluid and hot fluid is ambient air. The cold fluid volume flow rate is 15 lpm and the hot fluid mass flow rate is 0.48 kg/s. The concentration of nanoparticles was 0.1%. The ambient air temperature inlet of FCU is 28 ± 0,50C while the cold fluid temperature entering the FCU is 19 ± 0,50C. In this study the performance parameters on cold fluid with nanoparticles were compared with no nanoparticles. The results showed that the small addition of nanoparticles in cold fluid increased heat transfer in FCU by 9.2%.

Abstract

The use of material conveyances that are not in accordance with the concept of ergonomics harm the human body. Repair of work brushes by applying ergonomics to material conveyances can reduce the risk category. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of material conveyance on reducing workload, musculoskeletal disorders, increasing productivity and performance. The study was conducted using the same subject design method with a sample of 16 workers. The data were analyzed by paired t-test with a significant level of p<0.05. The results of the analysis showed that the PO workload data was 104.4 beats per minute, P1 was 93.5 beats per minute there was a decrease of 10.9 beats per minute or 10.4%, PO musculoskeletal complaints were 80.1 scores, P1 was 70.0 the scores were decreased by 10.1 or 12.6%, PO productivity of 0.201, P1 of 0.355, an increase of 0.154 or 43.4%. The conclusion is that the use of material conveyances means a decrease in workload, musculoskeletal disorders, an increase in productivity and performance. It is recommended to workers to use material conveyances equipment in carrying out transport and material transport activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance and energy consumption of the freezer machine for mobile ice cream sellers using the environmentally friendly MC134 refrigerant with a compressor capacity of 1/10 HP. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The size of the capillary tube is determined using the Cap Tube 1.0.8.0 application program. The evaporator used is a bare tube type that is wrapped around an ice cream box. The test is carried out by measuring the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant, the temperature in the ice cream box, as well as the electric current and voltage in the system. The results of the analysis of performance and energy consumption will also be compared if the system uses HFC134a refrigerant. From the test results obtained the optimum mass that is filled into the system for MC134 refrigerant is 155 grams and the optimum mass for 134a refrigerant is 202 grams. The use of MC134 refrigerant is more efficient by 23.3%. The COP for MC134 refrigerant is 3.1 while the COP for 134a refrigerant is 2.7. The energy consumption for MC134 is 67.8 kJ while for R134a is 83 kJ.

Abstract

Recent advancements in air conditioning (AC) technologies, such as inverters, enable the compressor to remain activated despite reaching the setpoint temperature. This study investigates the cooling performance and electrical parameters of a split inverter AC system controlled by a microcontroller in order to determine the operational performance characteristics of the air conditioning system. An ATmega 2560 microcontroller integrated with PZEM, DS18B20, and LCD I2C sensors monitors was 8,525 Btu/h capacity split inverter AC. During a 1-hour experimental run, the temperature differential between supply air (Tsupply) and return air (Treturn) stabilized at approximately 17 °C, with Tsupply reaching a minimum of 8.5 °C. Treturn remained relatively constant after 500 s with no fluctuations. Moreover, power draw maintained an average of 750 W (1 PK) with no variations, exhibiting an inverse relationship with Tsupply. The maximum energy consumption recorded during the experiment was 1,373 kWh. As expected based on fundamental thermodynamic principles, the energy usage showed a direct proportional relationship with the total runtime of the system. That is, the longer the AC system was engaged, the higher the total energy required to maintain the cooling effect. Overall, microcontroller-based split inverter AC enables real-time performance monitoring and efficient operation, representing a promising technology.

Abstract

Recent technological advances in microcontroller systems enable novel biogas monitoring capabilities. This study investigates microcontroller-based quantification of methane and hydrogen sulfide concentrations in biogas derived from anaerobic digestion. Anaerobic digesters were fed either 100% cow dung substrates or a 50:50 mixture of cow dung with municipal solid waste (MSW). Methane levels were monitored using an MQ-4 sensor, hydrogen sulfide via an MQ-136 sensor, and temperature with a K-type thermocouple, all integrated with an ATmega 2560 microcontroller system. The 100% cow dung digester produced biogas with maximum methane concentrations of 3488 ppm at 21 days, indicating improved methane production compared to the 50:50 mixture of cow dung with MSW. Hydrogen sulfide reached 195 ppm and 192 ppm for the 100% cow dung and mixed digesters. Mesophilic temperature conditions were maintained throughout the digestion process. Real-time quantification of biogas composition demonstrates the capabilities of microcontroller-based anaerobic digester monitoring to provide precise methane and hydrogen sulfide measurements.
