Abstract

This research aims to reveal and analyze the function of Islamic boarding schools (Ponoka Pesantren) on the border of West Kalimantan-Malaysia. The Author Will analyze the awareness of the priest/leader (Kyai) of Islamic boarding schools (Ponoka Pesantren) in developing the spirit of nationalism in the region. And to find a Kyai leadership model design based on 4 (four) National Basic Consensus in the border region of West Kalimantan-Malaysia. This type of research used is qualitative research with a case study approach. The subjects of the study are 2 Kyai, 4 Ustadz, 4 Madrasah Heads, 4 students, and 4 community leaders. The conclusions in this research are as follows; (1) the functions of Islamic boarding schools in the border region of West Kalimantan-Malaysia are boarding schools as Preaching/da'wah institutions, educational institutions, and social institutions. (2) Kyai's awareness in developing the spirit of nationalism in Islamic boarding schools in the border region of West Kalimantan-Malaysia is still relatively weak. The lack of maximum understanding of students and other residents of the Ponoka Pesantren about the national values and the lack of empowerment in the community of the Ponoka Pesantren environment in such activities to strengthening national values, such as the values of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, United Indonesia (NKRI), and Unity in Diversity are indicating the weakness. This is because the Kyai is still very focusing on carrying out the function of the Ponoka Pesantren as an educational institution and only preaching. (3) The design of the Kyai leadership model based on four basic consensuses of the nation in Islamic boarding schools in the border region of West Kalimantan-Malaysia is can be seen in the leadership model design diagram that researchers found.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the abilities that every individual must have is to be able to understand well the information that is widespread on digital platforms. The amount of information that uses English terms often creates pros and cons in society because of the inability to understand the meaning contained in the text. Even though English is the language of connection that will bridge the occurrence of interaction feedback globally. The focus of the author is to provide socialization and assistance to residents using an ethnographic approach that combines historical methods, observation, and interviews. This aims to explain the importance of understanding a foreign text from various disclosure of information with the assistance of literate culture as an act preventive against hoaxes, especially for residents of the District Kaliombo, Kota Kediri. However, information can be a trigger for weak immunity and affect people's thinking, language, and behavior. Linguistic Politeness will describe the characteristics of the community itself and become a major foothold in the act. Several pending findings resulted.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the understanding of local Sufis and revivalists about Selawat Nabi. The two schools, if their ideological roots are traced, are different. But they both share the concept of Selawat Nabi which is believed to be the construct of understanding. This research is interesting, because local Sufis with theological revivalists (not sharia, which is ritual muamalah), still carry out the construct of thought. This is also a point of research significance. This research is a qualitative-descriptive literature review with a phenomenological approach. The result of this research is that local Sufis state that the Prophet's selawat is a medium to achieve wusul to Allah accompanied by appreciation through the concept of opening, it will be acceptable because it is closely related to the formation of adab so that it is kept away from behavior that can harm oneself and others. The figure of the Messenger of Allah is to make him live in the soul by verbally reproducing selawat. The routine of reading selawat is a connection between the readers of selawat and the Prophet which is actualized in the behavior of imitating the Prophet's morals. Revivalists adhere to selawat ma'surat whose pronunciation is following the guidance of the Prophet. Saying selawat is not the main thing in loving the Prophet, but the most important thing is to make the Prophet's figure to live in the soul and have the morals of the Prophet.
