Abstract

ABSTRACT Social media is a digital platform that enables its users to interact with each other by communicating and exchanging written, visual and audio information. This is because social media is a program that depends on the internet. The purpose of this research was to find out the utilization of Instagram BuddyKu social media as a means of up-to-date information. This study uses New Media theory where researchers use this theory as a measuring tool or support in this study because social media is present as this new media. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative methods with interviews and observations. The results of this study indicate that to seek information, BuddyKu makes several media portals a reference material for publishing on BuddyKu's Instagram social media. BuddyKu itself collects related information in all fields. BuddyKu also analyzes what news is trending on social media. BuddyKu processes content with an attractive design and simple headlines. BuddyKu focuses on the core of the discussion and there are illustrations so that the content is easier for the audience to understand.

Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Transcendental Communication: in the Handbook of Solemn Prayer by Dr. Said Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qahthani”. This research discusses Transcendental Communication, where this research only focuses on one book, namely the book Guide to Solemn Prayer by Dr. Said Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qahthani. The aim of this research is to find out what forms of transcendental communication in prayer are and to find out the meaning of transcendental communication in prayer through the book Khusyuk Prayer Guide by Dr. Said bin Ali bin Wahf Al-Qathani. This research uses semiotic theory based on transcendental communication. Data collection techniques were carried out using library research. In this research, it was found that transcendental communication is divided into two, namely verbal and non-verbal which includes movements and readings such as the meaning of takbiratul ikhram, Alfatiha, bowing, i'tidal, prostration, sitting between two prostrations, tahiyat, greetings.

Abstract

Film is a medium that can reflect social reality in everyday life and participate in the creation of reality. The Indonesian movie that airs on KlikFilm service entitled Ada Mertua di Rumahku displays social reality, namely about the life of a married couple with their father-in-law. A movie can convey various messages, one of which is a moral message. Given that a movie can be adapted from a novel or true story to describe someone's life story. These messages are very important in influencing changes in audience behavior. The purpose of this study is to determine the content of moral messages in the movie Ada Mertua di Rumahku. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by observing the scenes of the movie Ada Mertua di Rumahku. The data in this study were analyzed using Roland Barthes Semiotics which uses two-stage signification, namely denotation and connotation as well as myths in capturing scenes in the film Ada Mertua di Rumahku. The results of this study indicate the existence of moral messages which include the categories of moral messages about Marriage, Filial Piety, Patience, and Compassion.

Abstract

Mental health is a state in which a person experiences disturbances in thinking, feeling, and acting, although in milder levels compared to mental disorders. This can happen temporarily or as a reaction to the stresses of life. @petualanganmenujusesuatu is one of the Instagram accounts that actively disseminates information, knowledge and support to increase awareness of its followers to pay more attention and maintain mental health through uploaded Instagram content. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of Instagram content @petualanganmenujusesuatu on attitudes in maintaining mental health. The theory underlying this research is the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) theory in which the communication stimulus received by the individual has the potential to influence the response. The effects caused can be interrelated with the message delivered and the response received by the recipient of the message. This study used descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires. The results of this study show that there is a significant influence of Instagram content @petualanganmenujusesuatu on followers' attitudes in maintaining mental health. This finding supports the hypothesis that the calculated t value of 8.666 > t table 1.984 Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

This study delves into Martin Heidegger's perspective on language as an embodiment of identity that surpasses mere communication tools. From Heidegger's standpoint, language not only conveys objective meaning but also shapes one's worldview and self-identity. This analysis explores how language, within Heidegger's perspective, forms the interpretative foundation for individuals, influencing perceptions of truth and playing a central role in shaping cultural and social self-identities. This inquiry views language as a mirror reflecting the profound aspects of human identity and offers insights into how Heidegger's conception can guide a richer interpretation of the relationship between language and identity.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the role of Instagram in the social changes that occur in students at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Empat (Asahan) in the perspective of New Media Theory and to find out how students minimize the negative impact of using Instagram social media. The study uses a descriptive qualitative research method and new media theory developed by Pierre Levy. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this this study indicate that Instagram is very closely related to the New Media Theory developed by Pierre Levy because it requires the internet to carry out its functions. Instagram plays a role in changing communication patterns, interaction patterns, habit patterns and information patterns that students do online. The way students minimize the negative impact of using Instagram is by limiting the time they use Instagram, not following accounts that can have a negative impact on students, parcipate in activities outside of school that can support students development and get closer to Allah SWT.

Abstract

The decline in insurance penetration levels in recent years has been caused by the increasing number of cases of default by life insurance companies, as well as the revocation of business licenses for the insurance broker industry by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), which has resulted in lower interest among the insurance community. This incident became an obstacle for the Association of Indonesian Insurance and Reinsurance Broker Companies (APPARINDO) in carrying out a public relations strategy to build a positive image. This research aims to find out what public relations strategies are used by APPARINDO in building a positive image of the company, and what challenges are faced when implementing the public relations strategy. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method by collecting primary data through interviews from selected informants and secondary data, namely the results of documentation and direct observation. The informants in this research were the Secretariat General of APPARINDO, the Department of Public Relations and Promotion, and the Head of the Secretariat. The results show that APPARINDO implements the public relations mix strategy or PENCILS developed by Thomas L. Harris. The strategies implemented include Publications, Events, News, Community Engagement, Lobbying and Negotiations, and Social Responsibility.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how much influence uploads from the Instagram account @naqitakarnn have on the outfit of the day of North Sumatra State Islamic University students. In this research, researchers used descriptive quantitative research methods with simple linear regression research techniques. The population in this study was 300 respondents and the sample was 45 respondents. The theory used in this research is S O R (Stimulus Organism Response) Theory. The data collection method in this research uses questionnaires. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and simple linear regression analysis. Data processing was carried out with the help of SPSS software version 23. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing research, the t test results were Instagram account upload variable @naqitakarnn greater than table or 6.199 > 2.016 with a significance level below 0.05, namely 0.00 0. Thus, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a positive and moderate influence between the Instagram account upload variable @naqitakarnn on students' outfit of the day. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination (R2), the value (R2) is 0.472 = 47%. This shows that the percentage contribution of uploads from the Instagram account @naqitakarnn to the consumer behavior of Communication Science Students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra is 47%.

Abstract

Communication is conveying messages or information from one media to another media, either directly or indirectly, known as communication. Mass media and official channels function to spread news and messages to a wide audience. In the context of electronic media, media is a modern electronic tool that allows many people to convey messages to each other. The number of people involved in mass communication is increasing every day. This is the result of technological developments that continue to improve every day. Researchers used a qualitative approach in this research. states that qualitative research is research that seeks to understand phenomena from the experiences of people being examined thoroughly, such as behavior, observations, motivations, actions, etc. with the help of verbal descriptions and language, in specific natural contexts, and with various scientific methods. The results of the research above show that underage films—especially teenagers—capture the phenomenon of promiscuity among teenagers. This is quite clear from several scenes above, such as in scene 1 when Aryo, Dani, and Rafi skip class during school hours and they regret their actions. In scene 2 it is about the misunderstanding between Aryo and Kevin which makes them fight. In scene 3 it is also about the misunderstanding between Marsya and Lana even though the problem between the two of them can be discussed well. In scene 4 it is about the misunderstanding between Aryo and Marsya, their problem should also be discussed carefully too. In scene 5 it is about the problem of Aryo getting Naya pregnant even though in fact it was Bayu who got Naya pregnant. In scene 6 it is about Bayu's problem, it turns out he was the one who got Naya pregnant, at first Bayu didn't want to be honest and finally he was honest that he was actually the one who got Naya pregnant and there Bayu regretted his actions and apologized to Aryo and his friends. After conducted research on the film Under Age using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis which is divided into 3 concepts: denotation, connotation and myth. Researchers can draw the conclusion that there is a meaningful moral message in the film Underage. What is found in Aryo's character is: stubborn and selfish. Meanwhile, Lana's character is: gentle, kind and forgiving. And the moral message is to be smarter in choosing friends so that we don't have a bad impact on teenagers' relationships.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of various digital marketing strategies, including social media advertising, celebrity endorsements, and influencer marketing, on consumer purchase intentions within the Indonesian cosmetics industry, with a specific focus on the Scarlett cosmetics brand. In the ever-evolving digital landscape characterized by intense competition, understanding the most effective marketing techniques deployed on social media platforms is crucial. The study employs a qualitative research methodology, utilizing a case study framework with three informants as the primary subjects. In-depth interviews were conducted, guided by research objectives and contextual background. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed qualitatively to identify patterns, themes, and perspectives emerging from the informants' insights. The findings provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of each digital marketing tactic in influencing consumer purchase intentions. Notably, this qualitative methodology facilitates a deeper understanding of how digital marketing tactics impact real-world consumer intentions. The informants' practical insights shed light on the underlying meanings and contexts of the research outcomes. This study serves as a foundation for organizations seeking to select the most suitable digital marketing methods to enhance consumer purchase intentions, particularly on the Instagram platform. It is essential to acknowledge the limitations of this research, primarily its exclusive focus on the cosmetics industry in Indonesia. Future research initiatives should aim to explore variations across different social media platforms and expand the geographical scope to achieve a more comprehensive comprehension of the subject matter.
