Abstract

Radio Suara Surabaya (SS FM) is a private broadcasting institution capable of carrying out its role as a public radio. The uniqueness of its role begins with the switch of the SS FM function which originally dominated the content with entertainment into information content. This change in the dominance of content results in a two-way broadcast format, where there is interactivity in it. This study aims to find out about the interactivity that exists between SS FM and its listeners, including the media used, the forms of interactivity, and the factors of interactivity. Computer-Mediated Communication is one of the media theories used as a knife for analysis. Through qualitative research methods, it was found that in interactivity with the listeners, SS FM has standard rules that must be adhered to together. While the elements contained in it are participation, control and activity. In addition, the interactivity media used are telephone, online media and social media. Then the form of interactivity that occurs is interactivity of content and personal interactivity. While three factors cause listeners to interact actively with SS FM, namely the need for information, the need for self-actualization, and the need for self-existence.

Abstract

Television as an agent of capitalism produces a variety of programs that are able to "deceive" the interest of its viewers. Not only as a product of technology, television has been transformed into an instrument that allows the wide distribution of values and meanings. The meaning of grief has transformed into a major commodity. Even grief is often used as a commodity that is manipulated so that the storyline becomes more somber and dramatic so that it can grab public attention. In false consciousness, we are brought in and perceive media reality as real life reality as represented in the talk show ROSI on Kompas TV which displays grief in Rosti Simanjuntak and Vera Simanjuntak as the family of the late Brigadier J. This research intends to uncover the practice of commodification of grief packaged into a talk show ROSI on Kompas TV, including describing the consensus on the meaning of grief itself. By using the Commodification Theory and qualitative research method with Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, the researcher found that with audio and visuals that penetrate the public mind quickly and continuously, making viewers no longer able to reflect on the television programs they watch. This is what makes them easily take for granted the knowledge of social values about the topics they witness, including the practice of commodification and consensus on the meaning of grief. Through television shows, the production team of the talk show ROSI on Kompas TV has labeled grief as a "creature" that should be pitied, has a weak condition, depends on others so that it must be helped and quarantined. Labeling of grief experiences stabilization or perpetuation of meaning. Even the consensus on the meaning of grief in the ROSI talk show program on Kompas TV with the title "Joshua's Mother: No Word of Surrender!" episode September 22, 2022, actually became the savior for capitalists who are always thirsty for profit gratification.

Abstract

Communication is conveying messages or information from one media to another media, either directly or indirectly, known as communication. Mass media and official channels function to spread news and messages to a wide audience. In the context of electronic media, media is a modern electronic tool that allows many people to convey messages to each other. The number of people involved in mass communication is increasing every day. This is the result of technological developments that continue to improve every day. Researchers used a qualitative approach in this research. states that qualitative research is research that seeks to understand phenomena from the experiences of people being examined thoroughly, such as behavior, observations, motivations, actions, etc. with the help of verbal descriptions and language, in specific natural contexts, and with various scientific methods. The results of the research above show that underage films—especially teenagers—capture the phenomenon of promiscuity among teenagers. This is quite clear from several scenes above, such as in scene 1 when Aryo, Dani, and Rafi skip class during school hours and they regret their actions. In scene 2 it is about the misunderstanding between Aryo and Kevin which makes them fight. In scene 3 it is also about the misunderstanding between Marsya and Lana even though the problem between the two of them can be discussed well. In scene 4 it is about the misunderstanding between Aryo and Marsya, their problem should also be discussed carefully too. In scene 5 it is about the problem of Aryo getting Naya pregnant even though in fact it was Bayu who got Naya pregnant. In scene 6 it is about Bayu's problem, it turns out he was the one who got Naya pregnant, at first Bayu didn't want to be honest and finally he was honest that he was actually the one who got Naya pregnant and there Bayu regretted his actions and apologized to Aryo and his friends. After conducted research on the film Under Age using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis which is divided into 3 concepts: denotation, connotation and myth. Researchers can draw the conclusion that there is a meaningful moral message in the film Underage. What is found in Aryo's character is: stubborn and selfish. Meanwhile, Lana's character is: gentle, kind and forgiving. And the moral message is to be smarter in choosing friends so that we don't have a bad impact on teenagers' relationships.

Abstract

The increasingly rapid advances in technology can be a determining factor in the success of an advertisement in reaching buyers' interest in a particular product. The development of e-commerce with a variety of shopping options makes consumers increasingly intent on buying instantly. Advertising exposure to consumer buying interest is high with several services that e-commerce provides in its sales. This research aims to evaluate whether exposure to the "Shopee COD" version of advertising from Shopee, which is broadcast on television, has an influence on teenage girls' buying interest. The research method used is quantitative descriptive, which explains the causal relationship between two variables. Data was collected through distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of the research show that there is an influence between exposure to the "Shopee COD" version of Shopee advertising on television on the buying interest of teenage girls in the East Rawasari area.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out more about how behind the making of fake plates and why people prefer to use fake number plate making services instead of making them from official institutions (samsat). This documentary film uses the field research method. Field Research is research conducted directly into the field in order to obtain complete and valid data. This research aims to find out the activities of buying and selling fake plates of motorised vehicle numbers in terms of Law Number 22 Year 2009 and Indonesian law in Tangerang City. In addition, it is also to find out the process of buying and selling vehicle number plates because the problem is that the object (Fake Motor Vehicle Number Plates) being traded can be detrimental to the buyer because there is article 68 in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2009 concerning road traffic and transportation which prohibits the use of these goods. Based on the results of documentary production, it is found that the reason people use the service of making paslu number plates is because the original plate is damaged, avoiding the police to get a ticket, and also the reason for avoiding bureaucracy related to Foreign Citizens (WNA).
