Abstract

The complex relationship between work and leisure is imperative for fostering a comprehensive approach to enhancing individual’s overall quality of life. This study investigated the extent of work aspect and degree of leisure of 223 elementary school teachers in the District of Dumarao, with a specific focus on elements such as physical environment, psychological, technological, passive leisure and active leisure of teachers. The study placed emphasis on the critical need to understand the relationship between work and leisure. The study examined the extent of work aspect and the degree of leisure in the District of Dumarao, exploring potential variations based on teachers' age, sex, highest educational attainment and length of service.  The study focus to quantify the amount of time spend on work related tasks and leisure activities, shed light on the challenges and opportunities for improving the well-being and job satisfaction of teachers.  It identified a gap in understanding how teachers in the Philippines, specifically in Capiz, manage their professional and personal lives. The study utilized a quantitative descriptive correlational research design in which data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26, employing various statistical methods such as frequency, mean, t-test, f-test, and Pearson’s correlation. The finding revealed that the extent of work was very high and the degree of leisure was high among elementary school teachers with no significant difference based on sex, age, highest educational attainment, and length of service with significant relationship between the extent of work and the degree of leisure of elementary school teachers. The study emphasized the relationship between work and leisure, in response to the heightened desire for leisure among teachers facing increased workloads, school administrators may consider implementing stress management and wellness program by providing resources and support for teachers to cope with stress can positively impact their overall job satisfaction and well-being.

Abstract

The way school administrators behave in an organizational capacity is vital to influencingteachers' organizational commitment and, eventually, the standard of instruction transmittedto the school community. The study aimed to determine the level of organizational behavior ofschool heads and the degree of organizational commitment of public elementary schoolteachers in the District of Pilar for the S.Y. 2023-2024. The respondents of the study were the160 elementary school teachers. Foreign and local literatures related to the study werereviewed in relation to their relevance and implications to the study. A validated and reliabilitytested researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the needed data from the randomlyselected respondents. The statistical tools employed to analyze and interpret the data gatheredwere the frequency count, mean, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson r. The findings of the studyrevealed that the level of organizational behavior of school heads and the degree oforganizational commitment of teachers were “very high”. No significant differences werefound in the level of organizational behavior of school heads and the degree of organizationalcommitment of teachers when respondents were grouped according to sex, civil status, highesteducational attainment, and length of service. However, a significant relationship was foundbetween the organizational behavior of school heads and the organizational commitment ofpublic elementary school teachers. Open and transparent communication may be developedbetween school heads and teachers. This may not only enhance the quality of decisions, butalso reinforces a sense of community and commitment.

Abstract

This study sought to determine the degree of implementation of school-based MOOE funds and the challenges encountered as perceived by 320 teachers in local schools in the Philippines. Province of Capiz. The descriptive-correlational design was used in the study. The correlational design was used to determine the relationships between the degree of implementation of School-based MOOE funds in terms of disbursement and utilization and  the challenges encountered as perceived by the teachers in terms of instructional and physical plant development. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for analysis of weighted mean. The Pearson-r was used to determine the significant relationships between two independent variables. The results shows a very high implementation in terms of disbursement and utilization There was no significant difference in the degree of implementation and when respondents are grouped according to profiles. There was no significant difference in the extent of challenges encountered and when respondents are grouped according to age, years in service and positions, but not in respondents’ sex. There was a significant relationship between the degree of implementation and the extent of challenges encountered as perceived by teachers. It implied that the degree of implementation was directly related with their extent of challenges encountered by the teachers. Qualitative data were taken from in-depth interview. The findings showed that during in-depth interview they were both significantly support to the quantitative result of the study.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the level of counseling competence and the degree of awareness ofcommon mental health issues of 128 randomly selected guidance counselors and designatesin the first congressional district of Capiz for academic year 2023-2024. Foreign and localliterature related to counseling competence and awareness of common mental issues werereviewed in relation to their relevance and implications to the study. A validated andreliability-tested researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the needed data fromrandomly selected respondents. Statistical tools used to analyze and interpret data werefrequency count, percentage, mean, t-test, f-test, Analysis of Variance, and Pearson-r. Thefindings of the study revealed that respondents report a “high” level of counselingcompetence, and degree of awareness of common mental health issues. There weresignificant differences in the level of counseling competence and degree of awareness ofcommon mental health issues when respondents were grouped according to the nature oftraining, and number of trainings/seminars attended. Lastly, there was a significantrelationship between counseling competence and awareness of common mental issues. Thesefindings may aid in identifying counseling competence and mental health awareness gaps fortargeted evidence-based professional development programs, for the career developmentinitiatives of guidance counselors and designates.

Abstract

The decision-making capability of elementary school teachers is a complex and multifaceted process that encompasses a diverse range of choices, each which of with substantial implications for dynamics,   students outcomes and long-term academic success. This study aimed to determine the extent of decision-making capability and degree of productivity of 177 elementary school teachers in the district of Cuartero for the school year 2023-2024, with a specific focus on elements such as extra-personal, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and personal and work related. The study placed emphasis on the critical need to understand the relationship between decision-making and productivity. The study utilized a quantitative descriptive-correlational design in which data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26, employing various statistical methods such as frequency, mean, t-test, f-test, and Pearson’s correlation. The findings showed high levels of decision-making capability across various dimensions and very high productivity among teachers. Socio-demographic factors like age, sex, and length of service didn't significantly affect decision-making or productivity, except for educational attainment. However, there was a significant relationship between decision-making capability and productivity of elementary school teachers in the district of Cuartero.

Abstract

The study investigated the level of relationship management and degree of transposableidentity of teachers in the District of Maayon. The respondents of the study were 219 randomlyselected elementary school teachers in the District of Maayon. The study used the descriptivecorrelational research design. Data were collected using a validated and reliability-testedresearcher-made questionnaire. Statistical tools used to analyze and interpret data werefrequency count, percentage, mean, t-test, and analysis of variance, and Pearson r. The resultsrevealed that the level of relationship management and the degree of transposable identity ofteachers were very effective. There was no significant difference in the relationshipmanagement of teachers when they were grouped according to sex, age, educationalattainment, and estimated monthly income. There was significant difference the degree oftransposable identity of when they were grouped according to sex, while there was nosignificant difference when grouped according age, educational attainment, and estimatedmonthly income. The relationship management of teachers was found to be significantlyassociated with transposable identity

Abstract

 The study aimed to determine the 21st century skills and professional enhancement of public elementary school teachers in the District of Pontevedra, Capiz, Philippines, for the calendar year 2023-2024. Foreign and local literatures related to 21st century skills and professional enhancement were reviewed in relation to their relevance and implications to the study. A validated and reliability tested researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the needed data from 162 randomly selected respondents. The study used a descriptive-correlational research design. Statistical tools used to analyze and interpret data were frequency count, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis of variance and Pearson r. The findings of the study revealed that the extent of 21st century skills among the respondents was rated as "very satisfactory". The level of professional enhancement of these teachers, both overall and in terms of self-enhancement and organizational enhancement, was also rated as "very satisfactory". No significant difference was found in the extent of 21st century skills and level of professional enhancement when respondents were grouped according to sex and age. However, significant differences were observed in the extent of 21st century skills and professional enhancement when respondents were grouped by their highest educational attainment, number of subjects taught, and residency. A strong positive significant relationship was found between the extent of 21st century skills and the level of professional enhancement among teachers. Results suggest a deeper understanding about the effect of 21st century skills to the professional enhancement of teachers.

Abstract

Sustaining the role of microfinance in the development of the economy is vital in supplementingthe needs of marginalized population. LifeBank Microfinance can help fund sustainablelivelihood programs. The study was conducted to determine the level of efficiency and degreeof sustainability of LifeBank Microfinancing program in Panay Island for the year 2023.Usingdescriptive-correlational research design, the study utilized 226 respondents employed at theinstitution as of August 2023. A validated and reliability tested researcher-made questionnairewas used to gather the needed data from randomly selected respondents. Statistical tools usedto analyse and interpret the data were frequency count, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis ofvariance, and Pearson r. The findings of the study revealed that respondents themselvesobserved a high level of efficiency in terms of management technique, loan system, andmarketing approaches. Likewise, the overall sustainability shows a high degree respectively inrepayment rate, operating cost, and market interest rate. There was no significant differencefound in the level of efficiency when respondents were grouped according to their age, sex, andemployee category. In the degree of sustainability, no significant difference where found whenthe respondents were grouped according to age and employee category. However, significantdifference was found when they were grouped according to sex. Generally, the level ofefficiency and the degree of sustainability are mutually dependent. Thus, the higher theefficiency, the higher the degree of sustainability. This implies that it is not only the businessworld that is transforming, but the human resources as well. A culture of sustainability caninfluence how employees behave and can affect the sustainability of the business as whole. Thisalso implies that employees’ efficiency level in LifeBank Microfinancing Program in PanayIsland is using efficient management techniques, implementing a well-structured loan system,and adopting strategic marketing approaches for the success and growth of the organization.Moreoever, it can be noted that LBRB can further ensure the long term sustainability of itsoperations by having a monitoring or careful examination on repayment rate by assessing theability of borrowers to meet their financial obligations.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of teachers’ digital attitudes and knowledge transfer of 187 randomly selected public elementary school teachers in the intermediate level in the District of Sapian for S.Y. 2023-2024. Significant related foreign and local literatures about digital attitudes and knowledge transfer were cited. Descriptive-correlational research design was utilized. A validated and reliability tested researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the data needed. Statistics IBM 28 program was used to analyse and interpret data using frequency count, percentage, mean, t-test, analysis of variance and Pearson r. The findings of the study revealed that the levels of both teachers’ digital attitudes in terms of perceived influence, control and response; and knowledge transfer in terms of explicit, implicit and tacit were very high.  Significant differences were found on teachers’ digital attitudes when they were grouped according to their sex, but age and number of ICT trainings attended were insignificant. Significant differences were found on teachers’ knowledge transfer when they were grouped according to sex, however insignificant difference existed in terms of age and number of ICT trainings attended. The level of teachers’ digital attitudes and the level of knowledge transfer of teachers were significantly related. It implies that there is a relationship between teacher’s digital attitudes and on how they transfer knowledge pupils, peers and significant others.

Abstract

This study investigates the dialogic engagement and English language proficiency in theselected municipalities in Capiz Division during the academic year 2023-2024. The researcheruutilized descriptive correlational research using researcher-made questionnaire that wascarried out with a sample population of 332 from the total of 473 teachers that use Englishlanguage as a medium of instruction. Stratified random sampling was employed to determinethe number of respondents per school. Statistical tools used were frequency count, percentage,mean, T-test, ANNOVA and Spearman rank correlation analysis. The study conducted in theProvince of Capiz unveiled a notably high level of dialogic engagement among teachers acrossvarious contexts, including household interactions, school dynamics, and communityinvolvement. This emphasizes a conducive environment for collaborative networks andcontinuous learning, echoing the importance of dialogic interdependence as an enabler foreffective leadership. Additionally, the findings regarding teachers' English languageproficiency showcased a high level of proficiency, particularly evident in expressive abilities,comprehension skills, and overall confidence in language use. This aligns with the emphasison communication skills and strategic aptitude as essential components of effective leadership.Moreover, while no significant variance was observed in the overall English languageproficiency levels concerning various teacher profiles, a significant gender differenceemerged. Female teachers demonstrated notably higher proficiency in English compared totheir male counterparts, highlighting a potential area for targeted intervention to addresscompetency barriers. The significant correlation identified between the extent of dialogicengagement and the level of English language proficiency underscores the importance ofeffective communication and collaboration skills in enhancing language proficiency, essentialattributes for effective leadership development among educators in Capiz. The study providespractical insights for educators to enhance language instruction by understanding therelationship between dialogic engagement and English Language Proficiency fostering moreeffective teaching method. Findings contribute to the design of targeted professionaldevelopment programs educators, focusing on dialogic engagement strategies, therebyelevating the language proficiency of educators in English as a medium of instructions.
