Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) the influence of the Principal's Democratic Leadership Style on elementary school teacher performance in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli Regency; 2) the influence of Work Motivation on Elementary School Teacher Performance in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli; and 3) the simultaneous influence of the Principal's Democratic Leadership Style and Work Motivation on Elementary School Teacher Performance in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli. This study used a quantitative survey method. The population was 50 elementary school teachers in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli. The sample consisted of the entire population, 50 people. Data were collected with a closed questionnaire consisting of 20 statement items for variable Y (Teacher Performance), and 20 statement items for variable X1 (Democratic Leadership Style of the Principal) and 20 statement items to measure X2 (Work Motivation) so that the total was 60 statement items. Before being used on real respondents, the instrument was first tested on 30 teachers in Pagaran District. The results of the instrument trial showed that all questionnaire items were valid and reliable. Data analysis techniques were carried out using descriptive analysis, variable categorization and parametric statistical analysis with simple and multiple linear regression equation tests, determination coefficient tests, t-tests and F-tests. The results of the data analysis show that: 1) There is a partial influence of the Principal's Democratic Leadership Style on the Performance of Elementary School Teachers in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli Regency of 16.9% and a fairly strong correlation value of 0.411 with a regression equation of Y = 37.818 + 0.396X1 and t count = 3.119 > t table (n-2 = 48) = 2.021; 2) There is a partial influence of Work Motivation on Elementary School Teacher Performance in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli Regency of 36.2% and a strong correlation value of 0.602 with a regression equation of Y = 27.395 + 0.577X2 thitung = 5.217 > t tabel (n-2 = 48) = 2.021 and 3) There is a simultaneous influence of Democratic Leadership Style of School Principal and Work Motivation on Teacher Performance in elementary schools in Pagaran District, North Tapanuli Regency of 44.2% and a strong correlation value of 0.665 with a regression equation of Y = 15.707 + 0.280X1 + 0.515X2 and Fhitung = 18.590 > F tabel (n-2 = 48) = 3.23. Thus, it is concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

The reliability of the airport's electrical power supply system is a crucial factor in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of flights. Lasondre Airport still uses a manual power source switching system through a Change Over Switch (COS), resulting in frequent delays in the switching process from PLN to a generator. This can disrupt landing and take-off activities, as well as navigation systems and flight support equipment that require an uninterrupted power supply. This research aims to develop an Automatic Change Over System (ACOS) capable of performing power source switching automatically, quickly, and reliably using a Socomec 125 A ATS, DSE 7420 controller, LY2N relay, and H3CR Time Delay Relay (TDR). The system works by detecting PLN failures, automatically turning on the generator, transferring the load to the backup source, and returning the load to PLN when conditions are normal. The implementation of ACOS is expected to improve the continuity of electricity supply according to CASR Part 139 standards, however, the analysis results show that the capacity of the 50 kVA generator is still insufficient for the total load, requiring an increase in capacity or separation of essential and non-essential loads

Abstract

Urban heat island (UHI) intensity in rapidly urbanizing Indonesian cities is commonly assessed through land surface temperature (LST) derived from satellite thermal sensors, yet fine-resolution, machine-learning-based spatial prediction for small and medium cities in the Bandung Raya region remains limited. This study applies a geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) workflow to model and map LST in Kota Cimahi, West Java, using four cloud-screened Landsat 8/9 Collection 2 Level-2 thermal scenes acquired between July and August 2025, resampled to the 10 m grid of Sentinel-2-derived NDVI, NDBI, and NDWI and Dynamic World built-up density and land-cover layers. Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Regression (SVR) models were trained on 627,687 pixels and evaluated on 269,009 independent pixels. RF achieved a marginally higher test R² (0.528; RMSE 2.17 °C; MAE 1.63 °C) than SVR (R² 0.525; RMSE 2.18 °C; MAE 1.61 °C). Built-up density and NDBI dominated under RF impurity-based importance, whereas NDVI dominated under SVR permutation importance, reflecting strong multicollinearity among the optical predictors. Spatial prediction confirmed a consistent thermal gradient, with the highest LST concentrated in the built-up southern core and the lowest in the vegetated northern highlands, although one acquisition date relied on cross-date gap-filling for over 90% of its pixels because of persistent cloud cover — a limitation reported transparently in this article rather than concealed.

Abstract

Abstract This study investigated a promotion of literacy development for EFL learners. It was by presenting an instructional module for first-grade Islamic junior high school students in West Lombok Regency. This study studies investigated the importance of literacy development within the context of Islamic education as it enables students to engage with religious texts, participate in religious practices, and develop a stronger understanding of their faith. This study adopted a mix-method with a quantitative and qualitative research design with the involvement of survey and interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the instructional module. This study also utilized a quasi-experimental research design, incorporating pre-test and post-test assessments, to thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the instructional module designed in this study. An instructional module has been developed based on a set of criteria, including alignment with the Islamic junior high school curriculum, integration of religious and academic content, use of engaging and interactive instructional strategies, and incorporation of multimedia and technology-based elements. This study used a qualitative data through surveys and interviews with the participating teachers and students to gather their perceptions, feedback, and experiences with the instructional module. The quantitative data from the literacy assessments have been analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques, such as t-tests measures from SPSS statistical computation to determine the statistical significance of the changes in student literacy skills. The study revealed that the extent to which the instructional module has impacted students' literacy skills, including reading comprehension, vocabulary, and written expression. The qualitative data from the surveys, interviews, and observations provide insights into the teachers' and students' perceptions of the instructional module, its strengths, and areas for improvement. The statistical analysis showed a statistical significance of the changes in students’ literacy skills, allowing for a robust evaluation of the instructional module's effectiveness. Finally, this study presents a comprehensive examination of the design, implementation, and evaluation of an instructional module aimed at promoting literacy development in first-grade EFL learners within the context of Islamic Junior High School Schooling system.

Abstract

This is an analysis study that focused on identifying the students’ ability in using simple past tense. this study is conducted on students of Al-Buhary Islamic Boarding school Praya central Lombok West Nusa Tenggara in academic year 2025-2026. The boarding school is actually occupied by 184 students in which they are on the junior high school and senior high school level. However, samples were used as the researcher could not cope with the whole population. The samples consisted of 50 students that taken from the students of junior high school level. The students’ ability in this case is identified on the students’ accuracy and fallacy one in using English simple past tense. The fallacy or inaccuracy is the main point of this investigations. The result of farther analysis shows that the students seemingly have problems in three categories, they are omission, addition, and malformation of English simple past tense. Thus, the students were often found to make fallacy in using those patterns high. The average number of in accuracy or fallacy made of all the students was 45%. From the percentage, it can be concluded that the students’ mastery in using English simple past tense was fair category. It is hoped that the finding of the present study will be useful for the teaching of English, especially the teaching of English simple past tense.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the continuing practice of treating a newborn's placenta (ari-ari) in the customs of the Karo ethnic group, which is understood by some members of the community as having spiritual protective significance. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method through interviews and questionnaires conducted among the residents of Sukadame Village. The purpose of this study was to analyze the community's understanding of the practice of treating a newborn's placenta in Karo culture and to examine it based on the doctrine of God's providence from a Christian theological perspective. The findings indicate that some members of the community continue to associate this practice with the protection of infants, thereby potentially shifting their dependence away from God. Based on the observations conducted by the researcher, this study concludes that the primary issue lies in the community's understanding rather than in the culture itself. Therefore, the church needs to provide contextual and continuous theological guidance.
